You will be in front of a judge. You need to dress accordingly.

There is a statement stating that the GC, AP, and or EAD are no longer in your possession. I believe that statement is on your oath paperwork I remember seeing it somewhere, but there is a checklist you have to check off on and sign. You have to turn in that statement prior to taking the oath so it's best to turn it in and foolish to keep any of them if you have them in your possession expired or not!

You mentioned the word "Delay".  I am just mentioning a reminder regarding the 2-year vs 10-year Green card determination.

Because you do not have a strong earned income history and the CO has discretion to rule whether your spouse is a public charge risk.
I had not realized you only wanted responses that agreed with you:

Personally I think it should be, but I have seen enough of these cases over the years to know that sometimes the CO says no.

I would delay the visa holder from entering the US until after 11-23-2023 (if you have a choice).  Getting a 10 year Green Card is much, much, much better than getting a 2 year GC.

If you read the oath letter you received it says:

Please bring the following with you:
-This notice with the reverse side completed. Please refer to instructions below.
-All Permanent Resident Cards ("green card") that you may have, valid or expired.
-All Reentry Permits or Refugee Travel Documents that you may have, valid or expired
-Any other documents USCIS issued to you that you may have, such as employment authorization cards, valid or expired.

Yes they want you to hand in EAD, AP, all greencards etc. You can obviously not hand in something you don't have. I didn't have my conditional greencard and was specifically asked why I didn't hand it in and had to explain myself at the oath.

Right, I'll bring it so I can return it if asked.
Not really analogous, but since we can't return both cards anyway - due to never getting my wife's EAD - what's the harm in keeping the card provided they don't ask for it?

If they need an explanation for not returning a card then of course I would rather return it.

My wife turned in her expired EAD card, but I do not think it is required.  We did business casual for her oath and that was pretty much the same for the rest of the folks taking the oath on the same day.

    Good Luck!

Why test it when for $5 you can buy a pair of pants from a thrift store?

I wore business formal attire to my oath.

    Business casual will work too.

    Sleeveless ok if female.

I did buy tickets before the interview. Usually, if it gets approved at the embassy it takes about a week to receive the passport with visa. The rational for buying tickets ahead of time is that expected risk-adjusted savings from advance purchase exceeds the expected risk-adjusted loss on having to pay change fee on non-refundable tickets. However, this is true for Ukraine, which is not high fraud country (they are visa-free with EU for a while) and AP is very rare. In case of Egypt you need to adjust for risks differently. Egypt citizens face more frequent denials and longer and frequent AP, which delay things.

Apparently you *might* get some assistance, provided your other nationality allows citizens to enter via another passport (e.g. the US passport). Some countries do, some countries don't (not sure if Greece allows it or not)

    Per the State Department guidance:https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/before-you-go/travelers-with-special-considerations/Dual-Nationality-Travelers.html

Indeed. Showing birth certificate together with a proof of legal name change (i.e. either marriage license or the court document) should be fine.

We have a related situation - we (the parents) are changing our names, and our old names are on our son's birth certificate. We'll have to see (but it's a low priority) if we can get that reissued, as well as our marriage certificate, but very few places we plan to visit would ever want to see our marriage license (Google 'hotel raid unmarried couples' at your own risk)

Any time you're in Greece you will only be considered a Greek citizen even if you show your US passport on entry. If you get in legal trouble in Greece or required to go through military service, US embassy / consulate won't help you! Only when you go through formal citizenship renounciation in Greece you will no longer be Greek. On the other hand, soon enough US travellers will have to pay fees and fill forms to visit EU. But if you travel to EU on Greek passport you would not have to do it plus you would have unlimited time in EU and not 90 days (on US passport).

A couple of more factors for your decision making.

Your wife can collect Social Security on your account when she is at retirement age.  As a resident alien, she must live in the U.S. for 5 years to qualify.  When she gets citizenship that requirement goes away.

Your step daughter, assuming you adopt her and she gets her citizenship, must live in the U.S. for 5 years in order to pass her U.S. Citizenship to her children.

You would be smart to get your wifes citizenship befor you move. Will save you many problems in the future. Meanwhile you can spend your time planning , building or whatever so your move is easy. Been there done that. We are in the process of building in her hometown at this point. then we will start being snow birds (6 months here and 6 months there and then decide if we will do full time and sell everything here. Takes a lot of consideration.

I would certainly opt for her citizenship.  There are advantages of Citizenship vs Green Card holder status.  No worry about losing status, free travel in & out of the US, not reporting every move to USCIS, and not having the hassle of renewing Green Cards are the ones which come to mind.  Tell your wife the citizenship process is a piece of cake....because it is.  I urge her to file her N-400 as soon as she is eligible (late this year, it appears).

With your plan, I would vote for citizenship as it will be much less hassle.  The only thing you need to plan for is how long it will take for your wife and step-daughter to finish naturalization and get their US passports, so you may want to have a plan with flexible date.

    Good Luck!

Inevitably she will be put in removal proceedings for spending too much time outside the U.S.

Collecting social security abroad is harder if not a U.S. citizen

Agreed. Even with double-dipping from a US masters or higher, who knows what's the chance of securing H-1B during the post-graduation OPT window (36 months for STEM, so you get three tries). Once you're on L-1 you can just renew indefinitely while trying for H-1B -- and also, if you can juggle it, there are online masters programs (the one from Georgia Tech seems highly recommended, and I hear the one from UC Boulder is quite good for those with non-traditional backgrounds) -- so you can even do that concurrently with working under L-1 and then improve your chance of getting H-1B once you graduate.

(I've heard of people who actually pulled off the masters while working -- caution: they have no life on weekends).

Think of this way - there's literally tens of thousands of people with same goal as you - why they're not here ? Because it's neither easy nor fast. For all the employment routes listed above, you have have to provide value for the employer to sponsor / transfer you to US. You have to be better than hundreds of other candidates.
There is literally zero certainty in this route and as soon as you make peace with it, easier it will be.

To my Maui and Big Island friends and O'hana: Our hearts go out to you on this horrific and historic day. I have lived on O'ahu since 2003, but visited both of your islands during my first trip to Hawai'i in 2000. The special role in the history of Hawai'i, aside from your natural beauty and the beauty of your people, that each place holds is forever etched in our hearts. Aloha mākou iā ʻoe
