I140 (EB2-NIW) approval waiting for Invitation Letter - Montreal Embassy
appleblossom replied to Tom007's topic in Canada
His Priority Date isn't current, so there's no visa available to him yet. When his PD becomes current on Table B of the Visa Bulletin he'll be able to proceed with the NVC side of things, but not before then - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2025/visa-bulletin-for-november-2024.html -

Montreal embassy EB-2 interview wait time-Part 2
appleblossom replied to Blueeyes1989's topic in Canada
He put various restrictions on employment based visas in place last time (I was affected - I was originally supposed to be moving in 2021) and has already said he'll cancel legal immigration programs. He may not go after EB applicants this time, no way of knowing though. https://www.forbes.com/sites/stuartanderson/2024/01/17/bad-news-for-employers-immigrants-and-h-1b-visas-in-second-trump-term/ https://www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/trump-restrictions-legal-immigration-second-term-rcna151994 -
NVC to DQ timeline in US London Consulate for indian passport holder
appleblossom replied to kozem's topic in United Kingdom
I couldn't find a progress thread for June 2024 filers (you might want to start one, unless you can track one down), but just to give you an idea of timescales for it all, here is the one from June 2023 so you can see where people who filed a year ahead of you are - -

Also, another idea if you haven’t already thought of it - get a pre-paid credit card, then you have a financial document with your address on. -

I’d just try another bank, for example Bank of America lets you open an account even if you’re not resident in the US. Chime bank accepts a mobile phone bill. Or how about your health insurance, do you have anything from them with your address on? If not, rental insurance? AAA membership? -
NVC to DQ timeline in US London Consulate for indian passport holder
appleblossom replied to kozem's topic in United Kingdom
Ah, ok. So it’s not NVC approval, it’s USCIS at this stage. But ignore the ‘My Progress’ completely, it’s notoriously unreliable - just search the forum for info on that. If you only applied in June 2024 then you’re a long way off approval. But once you have been approved then you can use the link above to check timescales for the NVC side of things. But as above, it does also depend on the type of case - which family member has petitioned for you? Best of luck. -

The letter that your SSN comes with should suffice for that. -
Credit Card Query

Amex in the UK? They’l do their own credit check, not sure if they use Expedia but your score should be about the same with any credit agency. -
Credit Card Query
appleblossom replied to SL2024's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
That doesn’t help at all. Your UK credit score just isn’t relevant in the US. The only company I know that allows you to open a new account overseas using your UK account is Amex. -

It might be worth applying for one if you have time? Then your UK credit score will be used. -
NVC to DQ timeline in US London Consulate for indian passport holder
appleblossom replied to kozem's topic in United Kingdom
The consulate isn’t relevant, it’s not passed over to London until you’ve got an interview. Not sure what you mean ‘NVC approval’, do you mean USCIS (your I-130/I-140)? Processing times are updated weekly here - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html But what kind of application is it? The above assumes you don’t have a wait for your Priority Date to become current. -
EB2-NIW Waiting for Interview Letter in London 2023

Top tip, if you click on somebody’s profile then you’ll (hopefully) find their timeline. Looks like it was July 2022. Please fill in your timeline to help others too, thanks. 🙂 -

Do you have an Amex card in the UK? If so you can open a new account in the US using your account history there. That got me a $15k credit limit & a 700+ score within a week of arriving in the US. https://www.americanexpress.com/us/customer-service/global-card-relationship/ -
Assume you’ve done the financial docs wizard? Follow whatever that says. Payslips aren’t usually required. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-5-collect-financial-evidence-and-other-supporting-documents.html You only need to upload the marriage certificate under your docs. Make sure you check the country specifics list as well - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-5-collect-financial-evidence-and-other-supporting-documents/step-7-collect-civil-documents.html Good luck.

Moving Back to US with My Daughter
appleblossom replied to Srene's topic in Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America
What kind of document are you asking about - the immigration side of things i.e. proof of her US citizenship, or the permission to take her out of the country side of things? -
See your previous thread - depends on when you were DQ'ed, please do fill in your timeline or give more info.

Only EB1/EB2 update on NVC (DQ, IL)
appleblossom replied to snm2212's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
No, you'll just have your tracking to show they were delivered, you don't get anything from NVC other than a RFE or DQ email. Good luck. -
So hopefully you’re about half way through. Then the wait for the next stage will depend on how quickly you can submit docs (it’s worth getting them ready as you approach the time you expect your I-130 to be approved, particularly things like police certs if applicable, as they can take a while to obtain), and which consulate you’re applying for the visa at. Waits for an interview can be as quick as 2 months, or as long as 2 years. I hope you’re at one of the quicker ones. Good luck.

F3 Visa
appleblossom replied to Zakria Samuel's topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration
Just realised I should have said - your nationality is only possibly relevant if you were born somewhere else that has a separate category on the Visa Bulletin i.e. Mexico or Philippines. But Canadian citizenship makes no difference. -
F3 Visa
appleblossom replied to Zakria Samuel's topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration
1. No. Your nationality has no relevance. 2. Yes, just make sure you take proof of ties to Canada so you have them if questioned upon entry. Good luck.
