  1. For me, they had lost my passport style picture. It took them a little over week to approve my case after receiving it. I also sent them extra material along with what had been requested.
  2. Too many cases of fraud. For instance, in Vietnam I've heard that they had cases where the uncle would apply for his niece just to get her to the US. I'm also worried because even though I have more than the required amount of money in savings, I haven't worked in over 6 months. You should be in a better position than me because France is not on the list of countries with high fraud rate. Getting into the States is not an issue for French citizens.
  3. Strange, I've always heard that Manila is one of the worst embassies for K1. Congratulations
  4. Hello everyone. I'm planning on start sending the emails to NVC after January 15th. So they no longer send mail notifications right ? NOA2 - December 1st
  5. Don't refer to each other as husband and wife, ever. They can deny or cancel the visa if they suspect you're already married. It should be ok to have your relationship status listed as engaged because this is what you are.
  6. Even if you're an August 31st, it means just 2 more weeks. Think positively Here is something forgotten to cheer you up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRPLaobXG2k
  7. Check the receipt on the money order. You can use it to track it.
  8. We were approved today. As a recap, we received a "Request for Initial Information" on November 7th. They had lost my passport picture. I had read here that it is a good idea to send more evidence when you get those notices, so I sent them evidence of our ongoing relationship because it has been 15 months since we first file it. They officially received the documents on the 23rd and we got approved on December 1st. Someone here jinxed it by saying that I should only send them what they asked but they took less than the usual 2 weeks time to approve our case. For those still waiting, don't lose hope, you're almost there. We're all going to be part of the "DECEMBER 2022 K1 NOA2 to NVC to EMBASSY" topic soon NOA1 - August 20th 2021 NOA2 - December 1st 2022 Total 468 days
  9. USCIS received the passport picture they had requested. I sent them three just in case. Hopefully they won't sit on it for too long. I read here somewhere that one can still receive a "Request for ADDITIONAL evidence" after receiving a "Request for INITIAL evidence" like in my case.
  10. I got a "Request for Initial Evidence" because they lost my passport picture. I guess it is a good idea to place the passport picture inside of a ziplock bag so they don't lose it like they did with mine.
  11. In my case they lost my passport picture, so I sent them 3 more pictures in case they lose it again. They should receive it on Monday. Hopefully they get back to it after two weeks and not two months.
  12. It turns out I can't send express to PO BOXes here so I ended up sending the documents to my brother to send for me anyway.
  13. So I've been living abroad with my fiancee. When I first filed the K1, I used my mother's address in the US just in case something like this happen. So after receiving the "Request for Initial Evidence", I had my brother scan and send me a copy of the notice. I have already gathered the documents, however on the notice it says to send the original notice along with the evidence. The original is of course half way across the world from me right not. Some years ago I remember that my brother sent a copy of the notice instead of the original and they accepted. Will I have any problems because of it ?
  14. I received my "Request for Initial Evidence" today, They want me to send them a passport style phone. The problem is I am 100% sure I sent it during the initial application so logic dictates that someone lost my photo. It is probably on the floor underneath a shelf there. I've read on this forum that these types of request are a good opportunity to provide extra evident so I'm going to do that.

  16. I just received the same thing today. November 7, 2022. What was yours requesting and how long did it take for you to receive it? Thanks
  17. On the bright side, they have touched more than half of the cases. Unfortunately for me, I am on the second half
  18. They changed the processing time to 15 months, so we won't be eligible to make inquiries until next month. In my case December 30th

  20. So much for hiring a lot of extra people and investing in new tech. 😕
  21. 167 untouched according to this chart. What do you think might have caused so a delay ? Too much evidence maybe ? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15hiSOTm85W1CG6c0jzQ8B7lXLo1JEwsWKr3zIszC2Zg/edit#gid=1356519321
