LemonLemonade got a reaction from saiyajinali in k-1 processing time 9-12 months???
366 days today and going strong, happy anniversary to us I guess! Still waiting NOA2. Trying to be positive, and not complain as much lol but it is really hard... kind of feeling on my last breath. I hope it is not going to be like this for you all waiting. Only the beginning of the journey! 👍
  2. Thanks

that sounds so intense... it seems physically impossible that we have to wait THIS long just to get married (even in covid times, it still feels impossibly long.) i hope you get your NOA2 really really soon! hang in there.
  3. Thanks

Correct, all March filers are locked out from doing so. In a way, this is arguably good - USCIS shouldn't be *only* approving people that are outside normal processing time (as has happened for 3-4 months now). In that case, normal processing time isn't anything at all. I've said for a long time now reality is 10-12 months, and this reflects that.

Second thing, is that it keeps people working on cases rather than having to keep responding to inquiries. I'm not sure if someone has the specific job of responding to inquiries or something, but honestly, you have to assume around 50 K1 filers a day were filing inquiries. That's incredible work, especially considering that the answers to 99% of those would be "no update."

Lastly - we need to keep the inquiries reserved for people who actually need them. We know they're working on mid-March now, and clearly aren't going to stop doing that anytime soon. But if you're a February filer, and are getting the same treatment as someone from late-March, that shouldn't be fair. We ourselves are very much aware of where USCIS is working. I feel awful for February (and January) filers who aren't getting the attention they need. This update, even if automatic, shows that there's severe problems that will hopefully soon get addressed. I feel that it's more than a coincidence we "finally" got this expected update a few days after Ombudsman said they were working to address "systemic issues with certain forms."

I fully believe they're investigating the I-129F problems and this is, maybe, the first step in that. Make sure you get your I-129F questions into the Q&A before it closes soon.

Got bored and ran some mid-day numbers on 57000 - 62500 (the wall). Here's my findings (mostly curious to see how this changes between lunch time and the end of the workday):

    57000: 0
    57500: 0
    58000: 0
    58500: 0
    59000: 1 RFE
    59500: 1 Approval
    60000: 1 Denial, 4 RFE
    60500: 0
    61000: 2 RFE
    61500: 1 Approval
    62000: 1 RFE, 2 Approval
    62500: 0

So, midday we are looking at 13 March cases touched by midday. Looking forward to seeing what happens in the later half of the day! Curious to see if they get around to another 30 or so cases

It's always interesting to me to observe how the shifts in when cases are submitted happens. It seems like the beginning of the week (after a weekend) usually submits more in the morning, whereas the latter half of the week submits more in the afternoon.

It is hard for anyone here to tell you exactly what you need to do, because we don't know where you are getting stuck. Those of us who have gone through the process will remember the general process of paying, but we can't give you detailed instructions like, "click here, click there, type in that textbox", because we simply don't remember exactly what it looks like. If you need that kind of hand-holding, you will have to sit down with someone and have them do it with you. That kind of support does not happen on a forum.

If you can't be more specific about the issue (where are you getting stuck, which question or screen, show us a screenshot), we have no idea what is going on so we can't help you.

Don't throw a fit and blame everyone on VJ, because you are unable to communicate what the problem is. People have been asking you clarifying questions in all your threads to try to help you, but never really got a clear answer from you.

We’re all volunteers here to answer questions as best as we can. We’re not getting paid to do this. We volunteer our free time to come here and try to help whenever we have time or opportunity.  And I don’t appreciate this sense of entitlement coming from you. No, nobody here will hold your hand and spend hours explaining every redundant step on how to create a profile and answer few questions to book an interview and pay a fee. It is very straightforward. This is DYI (Do It Yourself) website and each one of us “experts” has done hours of research on our own to be where we are. Nobody was holding our hands. And again, we’re volunteers.

Good luck with the rest of the process. I don’t say this often but you will probably benefit from an attorney because they get paid actual money to hold a clients hand at every step of the way (if you’re even lucky to find such a decent lawyer  of course).

Several people including myself have already told you multiple times that you need to do all the further processing including paying the fee at ustraveldocs website. Did you even attempt to do it through ustraveldocs?? Everyone who answered you went through K1 Process and every single one of us has paid the fee and booked our interview through ustraveldocs website for our respective countries. Again, several of us have mentioned that. So unless you actually go ahead and try it yourself, nobody here has anything further to contribute.

The website that @Timona posted is pretty simple. It seems that there are two separate processes; paying at the CEAC and paying for the DS160.
That being said, there are no “so- called experts in here. There are people with varying degrees of knowledge. Most of them are really nice and willing to help, provided you don’t come with an attitude:

Lol duly noted - thank you so much for clearing that up!  That's so interesting you've noted the double approvals for a while. The March FB group updates throughout the day with screenshots, so that's why I was certain we hit well over 50 today. It hasn't been the first day I've seen your chart's number and been very confused (also a tad disappointed lol). Using that bar feature definitely would clear up the problems, I just count them individually on CaseTracker and that's how we update each other on FB. I'm not sure what the other March chart-maker does but she occasionally has slightly different numbers, too. Plus now we have someone here running *all* of the cases with computer software, so that's bound to be a different number too, haha.

In all, I guess it doesn't really matter so long as we're seeing better progress than before. 570x - 605x are down super, super low, which is nice to finally see. We'll probably have done 200 cases for this week by end of day tomorrow, which also will be our best yet - and Monday was a holiday. As you said, nothing to worry about. I'm still very interested in the progress made by the February filers, as they have to be under 200 outstanding by now and then their adjudicators will move to us (and then, finally, to your April cases :))

    Thanks C!

Just wanted to share an update. I received the “outside of normal processing time” inquiry response on 1/4 and just received my NOA2 approval on 1/18. So exactly 2 weeks turnaround (they gave me a 45 day timeframe).

Ok, so here's what I can see (and she, haha, I'm just the C in CJP)
    1. I don't manually add up the approvals and RFEs, Case Tracker does that automatically in a bar graph so the total should always stay about the same, the numbers just move around slightly between Approved, RFE and Other Action.
    2. Double approvals happened somewhat commonly in past months, I saw several people post about it here and in the chat I'm in for my country specific embassy. It wasn't a problem for them except I think for some getting to NVC took a bit longer for some reason. The double approval was never really figured out, but the chart only counts them once. If it says approved, no matter what date or how many times they are approved it still just counts the 1 case as 1 approval.
    3. changes in 57500 - Total numbers waiver slightly day-to-day (always less than a handful but nothing horribly significant, so those approved today might have been approved before but still show up as one approval per case, this was also seen to be true in other previous month chart too. Why? I'm unsure, but a few cases here or there isn't much)
    Jan 18th: Approved 139, RFE 56, Other Action 36, Total 245.
    Jan 19th: Approved 142, RFE 58, Other Action 31, Total 245.
    Jan 20th: Approved 146, RFE 63, Other Action 24, Total 247.
    4. The chart is great to get a general idea of how things are going, but can always be slightly off depending on how USCIS codes things or the automatic counting in the Case Tracker. I wouldn't freak out too much about a few double approvals, the important thing is movement! So numbers may be slightly off, but it's probably nothing to worry about. Double approvals may be some internal thing at USCIS.
