Good evening,
We had our interview in Sacramento today and it was two years and one month after we filed. The lady who interviewed us was professional and businesslike to start and then as we got into the discussion parts she began to smile and laugh with us. Not a lot of questions, just simple things like what is my birthday (sponsor), what were our step childrens names, and how old they are. Asked for our proof and any records we wanted to submit and we turned over everything we had prepared. She said as long as the fingerprints matched the bio record she would recommend approval. About an hour later it was approved and card was being produced. They were churning through people today. While we were in the waiting are there were about a dozen couples being called in about 5-10 minutes apart. Our interview was about 15 minutes total and I do think they’re back to cranking through more people this quarter. So if you’re getting close to the 2 year mark you should get your notifications soon. Also, for those of you worrying about a k1 medical aging out, they don’t. Ours was 27 months old and we were good. Good luck and I’ll continue to check in to answer any questions that you may have and I can answer. Be safe!

If the CBP officer asks about your reason for travel, you have to answer truthfully. But they likely won't care and won't ask. What they care about the most would be whether your AP is valid, your AOS is still pending, and that you didn't stay outside the US for too long.

Hi guys,
I just want to give an update regarding our interview. We had our AOS interview today at San Fernando Chatsworth field office scheduled at 12:15pm. We arrived at 12 and there was a line for 12:15pm appointment. We passed through security like you go through airport security, removing shoes, emptying pockets etc. Got in line again for the initial process which is identification and fingerprint scan, got a number (time stamped was 12:45pm) and waited to be called.
After roughly 30-40mins, we were called and we were scorted by our interviewer to a private room/office. Took an oath to tell the truth. My spouse and I were asked to show our original BC, marriage certificate, and passports. My spouse who is the applicant was asked basic questions like our full names, physical address, both our birthday, marriage date while referring to the application form to check accuracy. After that, was asked a series of security questions that is answered by NO :). Was then asked for proof of bonafide marriage such as joint assets documentation, pictures. Interviewere didn't ask for affidavit of suport. We were also asked to tell about our love story hehehe with follow up questions regarding the love story. Interviewer then returned our original copies back to us, said she was just printing something and casually said:, "oh by the way, I approved your application. Congratulations." Green card is supposed to be here in two weeks. As soon as we got back to the car, I checked my phone and there was a notification saying that the application was approved and moments later, got another notification that says card is being produced.
P.S. we didn't bring our phone, but turns out you can bring them.

Finally, after 9 months of waiting and countless chat with Emma, my EAD/AP is now approved!
It looks like my case was adjudicated under normal processing despite my expedite request since it's too close to USCIS processing time when I submitted the latter.
Here's my EAD/AP timeline:
06/04/2020 - NOA1
12/15/2020 - Biometrics
02/24/2021 - New Card Being Produced
02/25/2021 - Case Approved
Don't lose hope, patience is a virtue! Good luck all!

We had our interview this afternoon at Lawrence ASC. New card is being produced!!!
Heads up about the medical...I was under the impression that it's good for 2 years, but that's only if it's been certified by USCIS within 60 days. So he almost asked for a new one. I did mine July 2020. But then I explained that the deficiency notice said Do NOT mail. Anyway, thankfully they accepted it! Saved us needing an updated one, phew!

Filed AOS packet on June 5, 2020. FINALLY!!! After 2 expedite requests, 2 Service Requests, 2 calls with Tier 2 Officers and another half a dozen calls and chats with Emma. I received this I-765 update today.
My previous job offer expired but I am fortunate the employer was willing to wait and issued an updated job offer for the 2nd expedite request. The recent request went fairly fast, filed on January 25 and approved today. To those that are still waiting, hang in there and just keep trying to get your cases moving. Trust that efforts will eventually pay-off!!!

Had some updates recently regarding my EAD & AP so thought I'd share in case it helps anyone
1/5/21 Biometrics appointment
1/19/21 Received job offer so submitted expedite request based on financial loss through the Emma online chat on USCIS.com
1/27/21 Received email from USCIS requesting evidence
1/28/21 Faxed evidence to USCIS. Included:
Cover letter quickly summarizing my situation and listing out the evidence I was providing Print out of the email USCIS sent me New Job offer letter Letter from July confirming my previous company was closing due to covid (This company also sponsored my visa so I've been unauthorized to work since) Savings statement showing withdrawals over the past 6 months to cover living costs Summary of medical insurance payments for the past 6 months (which would normally be covered by employer) 2/2/21 i-765 Status changed to Request For Additional Information Received
2/2/21 i-765 (EAD) Status changed to New Card Is Being Produced
2/3/21 i-765 (EAD) and i-131 (AP) Statuses changed to Case Was Approved
So grateful to finally see some movement after being unable to work since July, wishing everyone else luck.
Questions:
1) Has anyone else seen their EAD/AP status change from New Card Being Produced to Case was Approved? I would have though it would have been the be the other way around?
2) For anyone that has been lucky enough to receive their combo card already, how long did you have to wait after "case was approved" to actually receive your card?

I just got an update for the I-130 today which I had filed online.
So at least one part is moving. I am still waiting on Biometrics and it seems that this might be the only thing holding it up. When I reach out to USCIS they are now just giving me a basic response saying that the case is in line waiting fingerprints and that COVID-19 has delayed the process. I hope with the I-130 approval, it means things might move faster.

Late update, but my interview Wednesday went well!! We were told on the spot that the officer had no concerns and that I would be receiving my Green Card in 2-4 wks. A couple hours later, my case status changed to New Card being Produced. I wish everyone fast progress and good luck with their cases!
