All lives matter, not only "staff at embassies". We all (offices) are at work, why can't they go to work and conduct interviews. They have always had a glass shield even before covid.

Last I heard it was something like $35 or $70 can’t remember which... but like you said it was thrown out by congress as being evil to think they should pay anything...... mean while... everyone’s else’s fees can only go one direction when there’s a massive influx of service to be provided.... processing staff don’t work for free

It’s not a race to the bottom. I’ve been on this forum long enough to have seen all manner of horror stories from various embassies and government departments. It’s not that I’m not interested in yours, I’ve seen everything here. Most of us have some form of struggle in this process, or a war story, if you like. We are not here for a competition to see who has had the most horrible experience. We are here to guide each other through the process.
 
Many people find it helpful to hear from others who have been through the process and who stick around to offer encouragement and answer questions. I’m sorry that’s not the case for you. Good luck on the rest of your visa journey. 

Now Trump's fault because he's protecting the United States of America from illegal immigrants. Later, its Biden's fault for letting too many immigrants coming to the US that slow the petition process. 
Do you think we ever blame the president while we did this process? As stated above,you only been in this journey for 4 months! Im telling you my dear you still have long way to go there's still NVC stage,medical and embassy interview. 
Why don't you stay positive and stop blaming anyone. Instead, read more about the visa category you're in so that you'll know what to expect and you'll be ready for your visa interview.

the administrative processes will be overwhelmed and of course PD will come back into play since we’re all here and suddenly the AOS process gets pushed out to 5 years...  oh and of course priority processing will need to be given to all the new arrivals 🙄 and asylum seekers..
 
And since asylum seekers don’t pay processing fees and are free to walk across the boarder with their entire family fee paying applicants will be expected to pay more and more and more thanks to the massive new free entry sign... 

You just proved my point.  You totally looked past what the Manila Embassy did to us yesterday to live in the past.  Don't want to argue, but right now I don't want to hear war stories.

Frustration does not mean you have no right to believe something evil is going on.  The USEM has played every game possible to not  issue our Visa.  Multiple Medicals, Multiple Sputum Test, Lost NBI but the crowning blow was she completed the physical and 3rd sputum test, which of course was negative, mailed the passport back to USEM along with updated NBI and Cenomar on 3 November 2020 and I backed all that up with an email to USEM and they acknowledged that they had everything to include the new medical and instead of processing visa the embassy returned her passport on November 10th with a 221g saying she had to have new physical.  How much of this are you supposed to take?  Either the staff in Manila is incompetent or they are operating with a mandate to not process k1 visa's.  For all you old gold star members try to understand what is being done to us.

So why was it so long under Obama?

USCIS doesn't vet the beneficiary unless they have been in the US prior.  USCIS is self funded and never had enough money incoming from user fees to over the necessary staffing.  This goes back to before 2010.

I know this is crazy but... not everything is Trumps fault. 🤷🏼‍♀️ You just started this process hang on for a bumpy ride.

It’s a myriad of problems, including staffing, covid, overall USCIS incompetence, etc. It’s easy to point at Trump based on his anti immigration stand and just solely blame him (and believe me I detest Trump), and the EOs have affected a lot of folks, but it’s a multi faceted issue.

i dont think Trump processes USCIS petitions. They are handled by employees at USCIS/DOS 

Make sure you blame him if you don't feel well.

No, I don't "get that feeling".  Everything is ALWAYS Trump's fault??.......For your information, the world is in the midst of a PANDEMIC...which originated outside the US!!!!!    

Does anyone else get the feeling that Trump secretly stopped all immigration until the election was over? These processing times and quite frankly the embassies blatant disregard for people’s time just doesn’t add up to me. People are working at these embassies but are literally doing nothing. I don’t know...just seems like something he would do. Maybe I’m reaching, but we all know how he feels about immigration. 

And as far as I can tell there isn't a massive difference between spousal and fiance visa processing times at the moment, correct? I've been seeing spousal visa taking about 10-13 months.
