Hi! No, I don't live in IL but Carol Stream lockbox is the designated lockbox for my location. You can find the direct filing address for your state here - Direct Filing Address for Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence | USCIS
    Hope this helps.

    Hello All,
I just had my interview this morning and I was APPROVED!
Interview details which may help anyone:
Arrived and went through security. The security guard told me to go to window 6 on the first floor. Got there but there was no-one, I had to wait for almost 10mins before a man came and collected my passport. After waiting for about 45mins, my name was called to go to another window where a lady collected my Birth Certificate, Police Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Tax documents (I gave 1040, W2 2019 and 2020 because I didn't have 2019 transcripts). Something to note, I got another Canada PCC with 'other details'  because the one I had before had sub-type 'Non-Certified Criminal Information'. The lady said they were same and the only difference was the dates on the certificates! lol! So, I guess they accept both! Also, she could find/view some of the documents I had scanned into CEAC, so she said they were going to rescan them.
Thereafter, I waited for maybe 20mins and then was called up for main interview. Questions asked includes:
    1. Name of spouse
    2. Confirm Address
    3. If I got the domestic violence pamphlet and if I had any questions about it
    4. How and where we met
    5. Where we got married and who was at the wedding
    6. Do either of us have children. Ages of the children and how many are below 21yrs
    7. What my spouse does for work
    8.State where spouse lives
    9. If I have ever been arrested or had any problems with the law

At the end, he said he had just approved my visa and gave me the welcome to America paper and information on how to track my passport. He said it may take 2weeks to get my passport but when I checked CEAC back to the hotel, it already shows 'Issued'.

Thanks to everyone on the group for all your postings. They were really helpful in this journey. I hope someone finds my interview details helpful too. Please do ask any questions or clarification as needed. Goodluck to everyone!

Oh! Lucky you! I wish this was a problem I had! 😄.As much as I really wanted to be with my spouse, I was silently praying for our interview to be close to the 2year mark so that I'm able to wait to cross after! Well... turns out we got interview months before then🙄. Since you asked for opinions, mine is that if there isn't any huge pressure for you to cross now (e.g. pregnancy, job etc.) I'll suggest you  wait till the 2year mark. You can sacrifice a month for 10years - that's like x1000 gain! lol! Personally I don't look forward to the removal of conditions stress and costs and would avoid it if I could

I had my medical with Dr. Lee as well. I spent a total of 3hrs between Dr. Lee's office, lab and x-ray. It was such a waste of time! And I would have been able to cut that time significantly if I knew some things before hand.

    Quick tips:
    1. The lab downstairs is Life labs. Book an appointment on their site (perhaps you can choose an hour after Dr. Lee's appointment or something like that). They attend to people with appointment before walk-ins (even if your appointment time is still about 30mins away). Though you're from Dr. Lee, you are still considered a walk-in (My experience). They had lots of people the day I went so I eventually had to go on their website to book an appointment while I went to the basement for x-ray.

    2. You can also call the x-ray folks ahead to book an appointment since they also attend to people with appointment first (I had to wait for about 30mins for my turn)

If I knew these before my appointment, I think I would have been able to cut the entire visit by at least half.

    Hope this helps. Good luck!

I don't think there is any form to update information. I remember trying to update my DS260 with my married name and it wouldn't allow me. I believe the most important thing is to ensure your current address is what you have when you register your interview especially if you plan to pay for the passport to be delivered to your home. You can let them know other information at the interview (if they ask).
    Hope this helps.

    Hi,
Yes I crossed on February 26th at YYZ. The process was quite easy and straight forward.
First, I checked in my bags (Had to show my COVID test results before dropping my bags. Air Canada insists on this). Then I proceeded to US border security - I didn't have to use the kiosks after the security point because they were all barricaded (I guess due to COVID). It was really quiet at the POE and there were really no other passengers.

A lady directed me to one of the Border officers and I told him I wanted to activate my IR1 visa. He was very polite and told me we had to go to secondary. At secondary entrance, he scanned my boarding pass and informed me that was to let the airline know I was with them. Inside, I was asked to sit while he went into the their office (again, I was the only one there but they had officers just going about their business). After a while, another officer called me to the counter and asked questions like my name, name of my petitioner, my address in US, when I initially filed the petition (I guess this was to ensure they had the right person in front of them lol). Thereafter, he told me to expect my GC within 6months or so and if I didn't get it by then I should give GC office a call. He also informed me that my IR1 stamp was valid for 1year from that date and I could use it for things like travel back and forth, and job search pending when I got the GC. I asked about SSN but he wasn't so sure and he asked that I call SSN  administration since that's a separate office. Then, he said 'Welcome to the United States', asked me to have a nice day 😃 and handed me a docket to give another officer at exit so that they would let me out.

At the exit, I dropped the docket in a tray and an officer collected my boarding pass to scan again (He said that was for the airline to know that I was out of secondary and to put my bags on the plane). I left feeling very relieved!
In general, all the officers I engaged with were very polite and helpful.

    Things to note
    1. Arrive early - Just in case you're delayed for any reason. I was there 2hrs before my flight and I had more than sufficient time to go through all the formalities
    2. Print out your COVID test result. You will need to show it at check in
    3. There is an attestation form that US requires from passengers flying into US. Complete and print the attestation form. You will find it on Air Canada (or your airline site). Air Canada will not let you board the plane if you do not have it
    4. More importantly, RELAX! Don't stress yourself out☺️

    Good luck!

Hi VJ family! I'm back to (finally) share some positive news. After many emails explaining why the Consulate made an incorrect decision on refusing my husband his immigrant visa, they finally fixed their mistake and ISSUED the visa. We just received the tracking number today. It's been such an emotional roller coaster for us these past 3 years and even more so in the past 3 months alone since our interview in December. I'm proud of us for staying strong and fighting our case to the Consulate and never giving up! We're so grateful that the end is now here. @Hawk Riders - time to change our place in the tracker to be highlighted in GREEN (approved). I hated seeing that highlighted in RED these past couple of months.

Thank you all for your support and guidance throughout our journey. WE DID IT! ❤️

    Hello all

Glad to say I have completed the interview and had my visa approved on the spot.

    Here is my journey.

I took via rail from Toronto to Montreal which took me into downtown Montreal on Sunday evening. Journey took about 5.5 hours. After arriving i took a taxi to my hotel also in downtown Montreal (Meridean Versailles). The hotel was about 15 minutes walking from the American consulate.

My appointment was at 9 am on Monday morning. I left the hotel at approximately 8:40 and took a taxi. Note that there are no Ubers available in Montreal in a lot of the areas due to lack of customers. I got outside the consulate at around 8:50 am and there was a small line outside. Within 5 minutes I was asked to step into the building. They didnt ask for my appointment letter and instead asked for my passport and had my name and appointment time on a list which they checked off. I would however still print the appointment letter.

To get in i had to put my cell phone in a small locker and things like watches and wallet had to go through an airport like xray machine. I was then told to go up to the third floor and check myself in. This took about 2-3 minutes.

I checked myself in and got a ticket. I then waited approx. 15 minutes before my number was called. There must have been only 6-7 other people waiting. Anyways i go to my wicket and i realize this was not the actual interview but document gathering first. I was asked for my original marriage certificate, police criminal check, spouse's W2 form, passport copy and original, my PR copy & my birth certificate. I then had to scan my fingers and both thumbs. Note they do not wipe this down which i thought was odd. I was then told to wait for my actual interview.

I sat down again and waited for maybe approx. 6-7 minutes. My number was then called again to another wicket where there was a rather friendly woman interviewing me. The questions asked of me were as follows:

    1) Where do you live in Canada?
    2) What year did you meet your wife? What is that?
    3) Where did you meet you wife?
    4) What year did you get married?
    5) What does your wife do?
    6) What do you do?
    7) Where else have you lived apart from Canada?
8 ) What is your highest level of education? What other education do you have?
    9) What did you father do?
    10) Which city does your wife live in? What major city is that next to?

It was a rather pleasant conversation. I believe if you answer with confidence then this process is more smooth (easily said than done) . The officer than said my visa was approved and would take 2-3 weeks to arrive.

I dont think i missed anything but feel free to ask my any additional questions!

I took the 747 bus from airport to Lionel-Groulx station which is the last stop for the  bus. Then, I took the Metro (subway) at the station into downtown. The entire journey was about 35 - 40mins and cost $10. I used same ticket on my return journey next day (Ticket is valid for 24 hours and can be used on both bus and Metro).
If you plan on taking the bus/metro back to the airport, ensure you leave ample extra time because the bus runs about once or twice within an hour.
    Goodluck with your interview.

Hey, I haven't really been following, but just wanted to update on receiving green cards & SSN after entering the US on CR1, along with my son (age 18) who entered with me on CR2.

We entered the US on Jan 1, 2021 at a land crossing, BC to WA. The crossing was easy (had to wait inside for a bit, but they were nice & didn't ask many questions), and we were both given our I-551 stamps in our passports.

We received both of our green cards in the mail today (Feb 23), in separate envelopes. I was able to see when they were produced & mailed through the My USCIS account, and was given tracking numbers (submitted Jan 5th, produced Feb 13th, mailed Feb 17th). https://my.uscis.gov

We had both checked the box on the DS-260 to receive the SSN. I received my social security card Jan 11th, but my son never received one. We called the local social security office (found here: https://www.ssa.gov/locator/) about my son's SSN, and they said he will have to apply for one.

Since my son is over 12, he has to attend an in-person interview, and since he is 18 he has to talk to them himself & fill everything out himself & also go to the appointment alone (I can't go inside at all because of covid). He has to fill out the SS-5 form (available online), bring ID, proof of immigration status, his birth certificate, plus documents to "prove" that he wouldn't already have an SSN - one per decade he has been alive, showing that he was residing outside of the US. (This seems silly to me - he has a Canadian birth certificate & JUST immigrated to the US less than 2 months ago. Why does he need to prove foreign residence?) The person on the phone said that school records will work for that. Once he has filled out the form and gathered all the documents, he has to call back to make an appointment. (Also, because of covid, you can't have been outside of the country in the 14 days before your appointment.)

Another thing I have found really useful for all of this is the USPS informed delivery (which I'm pretty sure I learned about on here, but just letting people know incase they weren't aware!). They email you each morning with scans of the mail you should be receiving that day, so you know when things are coming, and will know right away if something was mis-delivered. They also email me the tracking numbers for packages a few days before they arrive (they did this with the green cards, which were tracked priority mail).  https://informeddelivery.usps.com

    Timeline:
    Wednesday, Feb 17 - Interview
Wednesday,  Feb 17 - Issued (Necessary admin processing)
Thursday, Feb 18 - Issued (Final Processing)
Friday, Feb 19 - Tracking Number received
Monday, Feb 22 - Passport with original Canada PCC delivered home

Note: I am a Canada PR with a different nationality and I have only lived in Canada for about 2.5years. Based on my experience,  I don't think it's standard practice that all PR holders are placed in administrative processing. Prior to this journey, I got a B1/B2 visa when I first moved here and I received the visa in regular time - No administrative processing.
I just thought to mention the above as I have read some comments here that it's practice that PR holders are subject to further checks. I hope this helps someone.

Thanks again everyone and Goodluck to us all in remaining part of our journeys.

I just thought to mention the above as I have read some comments here that it's practice that PR holders are subject to further checks. I hope this helps someone.

Thanks again everyone and Goodluck to us all in remaining part of our journeys.

    I'm home.

Arrived at Peace Arch around 5:45pm on Thursday Feb 18.  Day was sort of an avalanche of delays and minor things going wrong but nothing really major, so showing up at the crossing was a few hours behind schedule.  I rolled up in a 10 foot uhaul towing my car.  Said I was activating my visa, was asked if I was moving which was a fun question given that I was *driving a moving truck*, and got sent over into secondary.  After a while I got asked the usual declaration questions, answered them, and presented my list o' stuff and what boxes they were in.  The list was treated like it was on fire so I guess nobody wants to have to actually review the list and they may figure that if someone actually went to the trouble of preparing such a list that they're not playing fast and loose with the rules, which was true for me.  Chilled in the truck for about 30-40 minutes, tried to distract myself from randomly crying or whatever about being on the very last step of this 908 day journey, messaged my wife who relayed a message from our 6-year-old that he thought it would be a good idea if they came to the border to help, since I was taking "for ages", etc.  Eventually another officer came to check the visa and told me to come inside.  I recommend the restroom inside the Peace Arch CBP building for its exciting 30-second-long flush, incidentally.  Anyway I sat on the bench in a very empty building (5 or so officers and me) and admired the Chihuly glass-blowing stuff.  Got called up and answered a few questions and had a photo taken, which I didn't see but is quite possibly the worst photo ever taken of me as I was exhausted, my hair was a wreck from loading the truck and hooking up the tow dolly in the rain, and I'd been randomly tearing up for the last hour or so.  The officer stamped my passport and said congratulations and I sputtered some sort of thank you and said "I'm just gonna go cry in the truck a bit" which I did while messaging "I'm coming home" to my wife before driving the last 15 minutes to get to her and my step-son.

She'd made spaghetti and meatballs.  It was the most delicious meal of my life.

    Hello All,
I just had my interview this morning and I was APPROVED!
