You have secured work outside the US. That and your suggested travel pattern for your spouse will raise red flags. Not advisable.
She should apply for the reentry permit. She can request it to be sent to the HCM consulate for pick up but she must not leave the US until
    1. she has the notice of action for the application
    AND
    2. she has either completed the required biometrics or has bern notified that biometrics on file have been reused.

This will give her 2 years from the date if issue of the permit when she can reenter the US without being presumed to have abandoned  her LPR status

    2. Is the sole option. Online I-131 is not available for your situation.

After mailing it, the applicant cannot leave the U.S. until the I-131 receipt is mailed back.

K3 is obsolete. When someone applies for it, they change it to CR1.

If the embassies are not doing CR1 Interviews, they are not going to do K Interviews.

Bring as many pieces of evidence as you can.  Aside from the examples given, US school records would be good too.  Browse the CRBA forum for other suggestions -- https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/154-consular-reports-of-birth-abroad-crba/

We received the passport and CRBA today. Total of 8 days from Interview to delivery. I think this was much faster than normal...

I wanted to share a successful CRBA appointment at the Bogota Embassy so others have a future reference. My wife and I had a baby in early September and we booked the appointment for the CRBA that same day our daughter was born for October. On the day of the interview we entered the embassy through the American Citizen Services entrance, which is separate from the Visa entrance. They had three exterior security checkpoints and in the second checkpoint the security officer took our cell phones. We then entered the actual embassy and made a left to the American Citizen Services section. You are required to get a ticket and wait for your name to be called. During the first conversation with a consular officer, they check to see you have the CRBA/passport application with photo, passports and ID of parents, marriage certificate (divorce if you have been), original birth-certificate from the notary, supporting documentation proving physical presence such as college transcripts, high school transcripts, tax returns, certificate of movements and any other supporting documents. After the consular officer verifies you have all the documents to proceed, you are handed a paper detailing the fees to be paid for the CRBA, Passport and DHL shipping. In all, it was $210 for the passport and CRBA and $20.000 pesos for DHL, you can pay in pesos as well. You wait to be called again to pay your fees and after that there is an interview. The interview was intense and the consular officer asked many questions such as:
What elementary, middle and high school did you attend? Where was each of these schools? What university did you attend? For how long and what did you study? Do you live in Colombia? And if you do, for how long? Have you traveled abroad anytime during your life? And for how long? Where were you born? What was the name of the hospital? How long did you live in this city? Where do you work? How long have you worked there? (as well as previous employment) Are you married? How did you meet your spouse? Where did you get married? Among a few other questions...
At the end of the interview the consular officer said I met the physical presence requirement and my baby's application would be approved. They stated it would take between 2 to 5 weeks to receive the documents and passport back. Hope that helps anyone preparing for CRBA at Bogota.

Just want to share our succesful crba and passport application,my daughter just got approved last aug.25,!and heres how i started it!i gather all the docs i need, according to the checklist, and arrange it properly, then send it through lbc, after a week we got our appointment, and while waiting for the appointment time i kept reading posts from this website and gathering more and more info...and YES it helps a lot!....before we go to the embassy we made sure that i have all the docs and proof that i can think of!arrange it according to the checklist,i put the photos in one paper,,tips,,photo at the hosp.when i deliver the baby was a big help, and ofcourse my boyfriend got to deliver her and thats a big help too!they say baby's charm is a help, thats true coz the consular officer loved all her growing up pics, and she just laughing and trying to play with her!..and this is how our interview started, our appointment was 8:30,we went there 7:30,the guard asked for our appointment letter,i told him we dont have they just email us,and he directed us to go in,after the security checks,we go in and the lady on the desk ask for the last name and i noticed there are only 5 names on the list, hers was the2nd,she told me to pay at window 15,and air21 then wait at the window 9-12 for my daughters name to be called,,we waited i think about 45min.and then we was called at window 9,there the lady asked to see the baby and then our docs.my husband told her that we arranged it and she said thank you, then she looked at all the papers and give us back the papers that she dont need!ask us some questions and have us fill up some papers and sign it!then she told us to wait again for the interview, but in a little bit after they study my daughters papers she called my boyfriend back to the window and show him a sample of crba, and have him check the spelling and sign it!it only took us 10min at that window then we wait again for the consular officer's interview, about 45min.again,then in a small room we was called, she just have us raise our right hands and sign on some papers, then ask my bf to tell her about our relationship and how it started, then asked him when was the first time he go out of the country, and that was last 2013,so she said that fulfill the physical presence, and then have him an oath to support her till shes 18,thats the legitimation part!and looking at the pics of him holding the baby at the hosp.and telling them that he deliver the baby, fulfill the blood relation!then after that she showed me the sample of crba certificate if that will be ok!she told us that those papers will be at DC in 3days,and it will take3-4weeks for the crba certificate and 2-3weeks for the passport to be deliver in our house,,then way it goes thank the good Lord for the success of our application!it only took us 3hours in the embassy and were done,!

oh sorry I thought that you were latino.
the CO, Carolina said that actually they are working on IR1/CR1 visas, that they cannot call everyone at ones but those are the ones that they are having interviews right now.

About the NVC she said that the NVC will notify us when we have an interview appointment scheduled, and that the Embassy is letting applicants know the requirements in order that we have everything ready for the interview. And that they are aware that WE (ir1/cr1 applicants)  have been waiting for so long for the interview.

The timing depends on the backlog and availability of interview dates at the specific Consulate.  You're in the queue.  You wait.  Your notification will come by email.

Translation not required because official language of Colombia is Spanish: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-5-collect-financial-evidence-and-other-supporting-documents/step-7-collect-civil-documents.html "Please note that all documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country from which you are applying, must be accompanied by certified translations."

Which mailing address should we use on the I-130 while we both live together abroad?
I'm thinking of using my parent's address in the US for our mailing address and they can scan/email any documentation - does that sound good?
  20. Thanks
wally29 reacted to KULtoATL in Which mailing address while apply for I130 living abroad?
It won't be an issue for you to use your parents' address in the US  But of course you gotta make sure they scan and e-mail you the full documentation when the time comes.
  21. Thanks
wally29 reacted to Ahmed & Amy in Which mailing address while apply for I130 living abroad?
@jeff27 Yes using your parents address is fine. I had to use my parents address as well, since I live with my husband abroad. Just like KULtoATL said, just be sure they scan and send you everything.
    Good Luck

wally29 reacted to Ahmed & Amy in Which mailing address while apply for I130 living abroad?
USCIS had us change our mailing address to my US address, although I am living with my husband abroad. So in the end I had to have it changed to my US address anyways (my parents address- temporary address).

wally29 reacted to Thesmiths2016 in Which mailing address while apply for I130 living abroad?
I filed from abroad with our overseas address.  We filled out the G325a form so that we were emailed notifications from USCIS and once you get to NVC stage they communicate only by email anyway.
  25. Thanks
wally29 reacted to laulholley in Which mailing address while apply for I130 living abroad?
I also filed G325a and they never entered my information into their system, lost the form and then entered both my US and European address incorrectly into their system making me totally un-reachable. It took me a few weeks to sort it out - so g325a doesn't always work!
