For some of us the k1 was a better route due to multiple circumstances. All I'm saying is there's no reason it shouldn't be mission critical also. Most if not all of us would already be married if the process didn't take so long.

There's a lot of us having a tough time right now and a small glimmer of hope would be nice. I'll contact the embassy and see what they say about the k1 backlog and I'll post back here so everyone can know for sure. 🙂

Someone said the prior backlog at Montreal was not for k1 but was for CR1/IR1 and other IV visas.

Why would it be 10 months? Sometimes I feel like we should have filed for the spousal visa but everywhere it said the K1 visa would be quicker. We would already be married right now and the only reason we aren't is because we wanted to be together faster. =/

It truly doesnt make any sense! Most if not all of us doing the K1 would already be married but the visa process takes so long. At this point I wonder if doing the spousal visa from the start would have been more worth it =/

You fill a I-134, Affidavit of Support using your personal financial information and your co-sponsor will fill out theirs using their financial information.

Even though the EO doesnt appear to include Non-Immigrant and family visas currently, they said in 30 days they would include restrictions to non-immigrant visas.
 
Petitions slowed down rapidly after the EO came out and its important that we keep fighting this. It would be much easier to keep non-immigrant/family visas safe from a ban if we take action before it even happens because convincing them to change things after the fact could be much harder and cause unnecessary delays.

They actually said they will review non-immigrant visas in 30 days, which is not exactly hypothetical. I'd really like to be with my loved ones during all of this. Also coming here to stay on a visa is less exposure then having to visit every couple months because there's an immigration pause.
