Not to excuse the manchild father in the least, but is her decision really black and white? Is There is no other decision that would allow her to work less than 70 hours? 
 
As far as kids bouncing around during conferences and not having good boundaries, everyone from newscasters to instructors are in that boat. No one is expecting there to be no children like that castle in Chitty Chitty bangbang. 
 
I couldn't read the entire article because the writer is all over the place comparing women in this skill and opportunity category to the working poor.
 
The overall theme about 80% pay and the social burden of maintaining house and home falling to women...I don't see the the primary subject as a good example.

We waste a lot of money in a lot of places. We can certainly spend something to make sure people survive a crisis. 
 
   Governments in general should be OK to dip into reserves in times of need. What they really need is to stop forgetting there's a "put back" aspect in times of surplus.

My condolences to you and your family...  Our family friend passed from it last night.

My coworkers mother passed away with this. I asked one evening before she went home and she said her mom had tested positive but was doing OK and no real symptoms except mild fever. The next morning when I got to work, they told us she would be out on bereavement leave. It's tough because they tell people to stay home and monitor symptoms, but the progression of the illness is faster than people can respond to at times.

It wouldn't. Growing up poor meant a lot of tuna casserole and just tinned tuna in general... also beans. I would find this recipe particularly unpleasant to eat.
 
Lately due to lack of foodstuffs I've been making things like empanadas from scratch and chicken n' dumplings. There also isn't much rice at the store, but no one seems to know how to cook risotto which is perfect for me because I love the stuff.

My niece and her husband and nephew and his wife along with their children live in Midland.  I also grew up there and was working in Midland back when the last major flood hit in 1986.  It is a bad situation up there, but they will get through it.  There is one fallacy I keep seeing in much of the news media, only one dam failed structurally, the second dam, Sanford Dam, did not fail, although it was inundated and overtopped for a period Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning.  There is an interesting side story, the state of Michigan sued the operator of the dam that failed for letting the water level of the impounded Wixom Lake drop without permission, so some of the damage may be blamed on state bureaucracy.

Given this situation, would it be possible they would try to continue the interview waivers they have been doing?  I know it is not for certain, just getting some opinions.
