Uffff, that’s pretty long! But still good, I am worried it might take longer. Can’t afford to loose job at the moment. Thank you for your time to respond. Appreciated ☺️

Your green card won't automatically have your husband's last name. You will have to indicate during the interview that you want your husband's last name on the green card or else it will have your maiden name on it and changing that will cost a lot of money and time. As for your EAD, I think the same time/cost applies to changing your EAD, but you'll have to look into that.

As for your SSN, you should be able to get your husband's name on you SSN card if you bring your marriage certificate with you. Worst case scenario, if your SSN is already on its way because you asked for it on your EAD form you just walk into a SSA office with your marriage certificate and ID and they'll change it and send out a new card.

You case should move to "card being produced", then to the status "your card was mailed to you". Once you have the "Mailed" status You should have it 2 to 3 days. They are sent out USPS Priority Mail

I don't even want to think how long it's going to be for the San Fernando Valley field Office. It serves a lot of LA county as well as Ventura, Santa Barbara and SLO.
I just got the notice that my case is ready to be scheduled and I hope I don't have to renew my ead while waiting for it.

Wells Fargo turned me down too at first because the requirement is you have to go to the nearest branch of WELLS FARGO from where you live. Your husband should bring his passport or any credit card from his home country as a proof of identity. I did that last 2 weeks ago, we drove 2.5 hours and called the branch of bank before going there to ensure they will assist me. I got all the things I need in less than 2 hours. We got our ATM after 5 days and delivered to our house.

Of course you can opine all you want, think that the sky is brown and the earth is blue, and consider DJT to be the Chosen One. Free country...

But you were factually wrong: AOS is the "legal way." And you were wrong because of your bias. So yes, I'll call you out on it.

Sometimes I give negative opinions too lol. But this one -- about the timeline -- is an easy one to endorse.

You can take your "book" to your AOS interview, but you can't submit it with your application. Because your AOS application will be scrutinized closely, you'd want to "front-load" much of your evidence (i.e., put your best foot forward -- send as much favorable evidence with your initial application as you can). That's where the five-milestone framework I proposed earlier for gathering and presenting your evidence could help.

A warning, though: Be careful what you send. Anything you send can and will be used against you by USCIS. Any chat, email, receipt for an engagement ring, etc., that hints at prior intent to get married, or that introduces ambiguity about your timeline, will be a problem. So go through everything you send carefully. I often find many applicants try to tug at the heartstrings of USCIS officers using the sheer volume of their evidence -- if only they knew how much we are in love! -- and carelessly introduce negative evidence. Bad idea. Think like a lawyer.

Last I checked, AOS is, in fact and by law, a legal path. Like CR1/K1/asylum. They're not just overstaying a visit visa: they apply for an immigration benefit and are subjected to vigorous scrutiny to assess if they qualify. If you have a problem with AOS, take up your fight with Congress. Stop bringing your personal judgments into your commentary.

Hmmm it was just a timeline and history of when we visited each other and history of how we met? I don't think the word "intention" is a proper word for two people wanted to tie a knot and live together. My husband can live in my home country too, but he has a job in here, which he could not leave.

Utility bills, car titles, beneficiaries of insurance policies, records of money transfers you have made to each other, wedding cards, sworn affidavits from family and friends who know you as a couple, photos, notes/letters/cards to each other, call records and chat logs if you have them, have both names added to the lease or mortgage, add each other to your credit cards if you have them. Lots of options 😊 best of luck!

Bank of America and Wells Fargo allows you to without a ssn. Try to focus on the things you can get. Print all the pictures you have showing different occasions in your relationship. Mail that comes to the same address (as to show u share residence), amazon orders count as well. If you’ve ever sent an email to your husband print that too. Club cards and library cards. Gym membership, affidavit from friends and family. If you guys go to dinner often save some receipts etc. when you’re lacking in evidence just focus on what you can control.

I was able to open a bank account without SSN. This was years ago so things may have been changed but I don't think you need a SSN to open a bank account. For example, lots of international students come to US. They do not have SSNs but they have bank accounts.  Right after we got married, my husband and I went to his bank to see if they can add my name to his bank account. They did not ask my SSN and they were able to add my name. I suggest you try at least as bank documents would be much stronger evidence than pictures. Good luck!
