Hello everyone,

I am a very new member here. I came here twice under a B1/B2 Visa/Multiple entry. My Partner and I have been together for a year and we decided to get married. We have a problem of providing certain requirements for the evidences of a BONIFIDE marriage. I don’t have SSN to open a US bank account and create a joint account. We also don’t have lease statement as we are newly wed couple. The only evidences we have are pictures from social media since the time we dated and visited each other. Are there any strong evidences you could suggest, that we could include? I hope you guys help me on this. This is kind of stressing especially when you do it by yourself. Thanks in advance!

I was able to open a bank account without SSN. This was years ago so things may have been changed but I don't think you need a SSN to open a bank account. For example, lots of international students come to US. They do not have SSNs but they have bank accounts.  Right after we got married, my husband and I went to his bank to see if they can add my name to his bank account. They did not ask my SSN and they were able to add my name. I suggest you try at least as bank documents would be much stronger evidence than pictures. Good luck!

Bank of America and Wells Fargo allows you to without a ssn. Try to focus on the things you can get. Print all the pictures you have showing different occasions in your relationship. Mail that comes to the same address (as to show u share residence), amazon orders count as well. If you’ve ever sent an email to your husband print that too. Club cards and library cards. Gym membership, affidavit from friends and family. If you guys go to dinner often save some receipts etc. when you’re lacking in evidence just focus on what you can control.

Utility bills, car titles, beneficiaries of insurance policies, records of money transfers you have made to each other, wedding cards, sworn affidavits from family and friends who know you as a couple, photos, notes/letters/cards to each other, call records and chat logs if you have them, have both names added to the lease or mortgage, add each other to your credit cards if you have them. Lots of options 😊 best of luck!

Hello to y’all,

Appreciated all your warm responses. 😊😊😊

I have started collating and sorting my evidences. I have gathered all our pictures we had since the time we met, plane tickets, hotel receipts, and chats. We came from a long distance relationship BTW. I tried to look for Bank of America, and USA has limited branch and not available in the state of Louisiana 😫 I might try again with Wells Fargo,  I called them the other day and the phone banker just let me stay on the phone for 20 mins, so I hang up instead.

How about the receipt of our rent, can we submit it even the receipts are before marriage?

Thanks in advance to y’all ♥️

Not having a joint bank account should not be an issue if you have other strong evidence.

What do you mean receipt of your rent?  If you mean the lease agreement with both of your names on it, yes you should absolutely include that.
