Kasia & Damian reacted to Jenmarie in My fiance got denied boarding with a valid K-1 Visa, transiting through Paris
My fiancé from Paris travelled to Mexico and stayed 2 weeks there. The banned countries are banned if you’ve been there’in the past 2 weeks’. He had no troubles getting here and getting through customs. He is finally home. For anyone with a K1 that is coming from or traveling through a banned place... find somewhere you can fly to and spend 2 weeks ( that the US has not banned) and come from there. You can always call customs and boarder patrol if you feel worried, like we did. I called daily to make sure nothing had been changed. (I got through best at 6-7 am calling the airport he was flying into(Miami) and they were more helpful than anyone else ever was. There are 13 airports you are allowed internationally to fly into so make certain you are going to one of those , as well. I hope this helps. ❤️

Kasia & Damian reacted to Crazy Cat in K1 Visa... to file or not?
That would be the reason.......She would have to spend 14 days in a non-Covid banned country before being allowed to enter........thanks for clarifying.

That is not true........there are K-1 holders and others entering the US from non-Covid banned countries. I'm sure there were other factors in the case you mentioned.

Kasia & Damian got a reaction from agataa in Polish couples
I know we are in this together. I saw many people trying to travel from Schengen to other - allowed countries like Croatia, Turkey or Mexico, stay there 2 weeks and visit United States.
I’m in touch with a girl who is now in Croatia and will be flying to the US on 30th of August (on tourist visa). She found few people who made it this way and entered US without any problem.
you might see more couples seeing each other on the Facebook group called ‘couples separated by travel bans’. Some people are even posting their videos and it’s so positive 💖

Kasia & Damian reacted to Quarknase in Unable to book interview after expedite accepted
Usually for expedites the embassy contacts the applicant once they are ready. This can be in form of an email advising the applicant to schedule, or in the form of a call directly providing the interview date.
I haven't heard of a case where the "expedite approved" email from NVC would allow the applicant to book an interview without any interaction with the embassy first.
What does the NVC email state? Should be something along the lines that the case is being forwarded to the embassy, and that the embassy will contact you directly?
Hope this helps.

Kasia & Damian reacted to Unlockable in Leaving the US after K1
The point they were making is that you can get married anywhere in the world and file the spousal visa. He can even come over on a visitor visa and you two get married here in the US, and he returns back to his country afterwards. Then you can file for a spousal visa.

Kasia & Damian reacted to Babaloo in K1 after annulment in NY
Get a lawyer before you file K1,
Does not matter your annulment at all, forget about it. You need proper representation of your future case.
DO NOT mention anymore that you was trying to help your friend get documents, this wording would get you in big problems with your next K1.Get a lawyer, you can not do that on your own for your case.

Kasia & Damian reacted to Crazy Cat in I may have to divorce my spouse before she arrives to USA
Note to the OP- There was a recent case here where the petitioner, who had been married for longer than 2 years, failed to stop the immigration process for a failed marriage prior to his spouse's visa being issued. The visa holder entered the US, obtained a 10 year green card, and remained in the US. The petitioner, of course, was obligated for financial support under the I-864. It is extremely important that you stop the process ASAP.

I’m happy to hear that you found a solution.
in theory your fiancé would be in the last 14 days on Schengen area (because of the transit) so let us know please if that mattered.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you guys.
*And topeople which are saying ‘you’ve been told this and that few times’:*
remember, this situation is very stressful to most of us. It’s hard when you want to see each other ASAP because it’s been so long. We are here on this forum to support each other not to point on each other’s mistakes I believe.

Oh no, I’m so sorry that your fiance is going through health issues it’s so sad that our embassy won’t even grant you an emergency interview, that’s so disappointing I hope you keep trying, I know it’s chaos there right now, I remember getting an email that was just not true from them about my inquiry as to whether or not K1 visa was banned under the PP about immigrants.
Oh no, I wouldn’t travel from Warsaw because of the Schengen travel ban, unless a miracle happens and they lift it right now we’re planning on meeting in Turkey for 15-16 days in September and flying to NYC from there. I keep getting those waves of anxiety when I think about it, because what if they cancel my B1B2, but I guess I won’t know until I try

It's nice to support each other!
As most of our close ones doesn't know how it feels to be stuck on different continents.
I am also thinking about entering on my travel visa- if you would- let us know!
I was trying to contact our embasy because we were counting to have some exceptional interview due to the health issues of my fiance as he has to have the surgery soon. I saw on VJ that some embassies are allowing it- but our just responded that there is a travel ban and we have to wait... Seems really not supportive to the U.S. Citizen which need physicall help and support. I'll keep you updated.
Would you concider just to travel straight to the U.S or through some other country and waiting there for 2 weeks?

Hi guys,
It’s really comforting and sad at the same time to see that many people are in similar position.
We are pretty desperate to at least see each other and trying to find some ways. After some time from your emails to Senators/Representatives do you think it’s still worth to write something? We would be writing to NJ.

Kasia & Damian reacted to agataa in Polish couples
Hi @Kasia & Damian! Our little Polish family is growing!
Are any of you guys thinking of meeting up in a 3rd country soon? I’m so stressed about trying to enter on my b1/b2 visa and getting turned back, but as we say in Poland, “kto nie ryzykuje, ten nie pije szampana” (the one who doesn’t take risks, doesn’t drink the champagne). I also haven’t seen any updates from our Warsaw embassy so waiting any longer feels pretty futile

Hi there!
Just found this forum and I totally agree!
I am willing to travel somewhere for 2 weeks and stay in the hotel or do the self-quarantine or do some test a day before leaving the country... Whatever to just make this apart time any shorter.
I hope we all are going to get through this ❤️

Kasia & Damian reacted to David and Anna in Polish couples
^^ that's not good...the travel ban should be the least of our "blockages". Our thought was for her to go to Turkey or someplace for 2 weeks after getting her K-1 and then fly directly from there to the USA. I guess the Embassy didn't think people might want to do that.

We contacted an Embassy in Warsaw, Poland regarding the health issue of my fiance- he has to have a surgery- they just don't care and responded with generic e-mail that we have to wait.. I mean.. ?!
