I wouldn't postpone applying for AOS. His draft says it does not include spouse of US citizen or PRs. So if you are already here and got married it shouldn't effect you. But the draft is not final and it is not yet signed as of today. So I would recommend submitting for AOS, so you can be in pending status waiting for GC. Also once you get married K1 is obsolete. So you don't need to worry about I 94. I would just focus on AOS. I just filed mine and got NOA1 text. Good luck to everyone who is applying.

    Hello everyone!

A special hello to @ecuatorianos2018, @MalinRonja, @Ameriaussie, and @kayden123. Oh and of course the superstar @Sarge2155

Nice to see familiar names on here. I am back again, I've thread hopped from February, to March, and now April.

I sent my forms in for the THIRD time yesterday after 2 rejections. Sigh.  I spent an extremely long time re-doing ALL of them and got help from two legal aid agencies in reviewing them as well as another friend who went through the process for my husband's country, Dominican Republic.

I really really hope third time is the charm!

i took a screen shot of the error message, (my spouse also doesnt have a ssn yet) we also sent a letter kec524 made. I asked what she sent and modify it for me. my application was accepted... its too early to know about rfe's
as far as English speaking. you come from a country that speaks English, i would just write a letter explaining that and sign it.   The key is dont leave anything blank, if its blank, they seem just to reject it right away.

i got my hard copy 485 yesterday, text message was on sunday night. so that was fast.  I would assume everything that requires an appointment is on pause until they reopen, but who knows, guess its really gonna depend on what state you live in.

I hope everyone is doing well despite of the current situation. I am happy to share the good news that my case is now ready to be scheduled for an interview! I can breathe easy I didn't have any RFE's.😅

I didn't check my case for a month, I think , as I literally put my AOS application at the back of my mind to prevent myself from stressing over it. Also, I've been busy with my spring cleaning, front and backyard gardening. My tulips, hyacinths and daffodils are now in their last week of bloom! Irises, pink lilies, peonies and other flowering shrubs I've forgotten the names are next to bloom.

I've planted veggies, herbs and flower seedlings 6 weeks ago and they are now ready to be put in the ground. But the crazy Missouri weather is not cooperating! After springlike weather 2 weeks ago, we had cold front plus storm with heavy rains last week. And today, rain and snow is in forecast until tomorrow😓. Next week's forecast is back to sunny and up to 70's!  If it stays warmer, we are planning to clean and treat our koi pond. My husband and I are dreading it!😄

What have you been up to while AOSing during this stay at home order? BTW, ours have been extended through May 15th.

    P.S.

This is my future rose garden. There were three 20 y/o bushes in there that I had my husband uprooted and I've transplanted them at the side of our backyard garden. I've put in 6 different rose varieties (they're at the back part) and covered them with extra large planters when there's frost or freezing temp in forecast. I also planted anemones, English lavender, Iris. I will transplant my marigold and sage seedlings as soon as the soil gets warm consistently.

I felt kind of lucky as I had my marriage certificiate just days before closure of county clerks office. I had a problem getting my immigration exam since doctors office were close I literally called 4 times a week after waiting 2 weeks for results. I think at the end they felt bad and just told me to come afternoon. My package arrived on April 6 but I havent received any updates yet but I am expecting it to get this week.

Overall, I feel like filers from this year might expect 1-2 months of delay. However, I am also expecting fewer people would apply under these circumstances so who knows it might be even faster

Update on our status. We did get our letter today and apparently they sent us an RFE but we never received it in the mail. We are going to resubmit our application again because we feel this is the best way to go and from the advise from some of your responses. Thank you for your support and kind words.

I just sent my AOS package today 🥳
Should hopefully get delivered on Monday. I prepared it for months and really hope everything will go well.
Good luck to all others who filed as well or still have to file! I will keep you updated, especially with the new I-944... hope you all will also keep us updated 😊

My strategy with the I-944 was that it is better to give them all the information that you have, and not create the perception that you are "hiding" anything. Remember, the idea of I-944 is not just to ensure that you are making a sufficient amount of money right now, but that you won't become a public charge anytime in the future. They are making that determination on the totality of your situation, not just based on the fact that you make 250% over the poverty line (though that is a big plus).

Also, I read the instructions you quoted (regarding income above 125% the poverty line or five times that value in assets) as an absolute minimum. That does not mean that you do not need to provide bank statements though. In fact, the asset instructions say:

"Item Number 9. Assets. List only the assets that can be converted into cash within 12 months. Provide the value of any asset held in the United States or outside the United States, in U.S. dollars."

In the sentence above, there is no ambiguity - they want information of all your assets regardless of where they are. The assets of your household members are optional though. I provided 12 months of bank statements for my American checking account as well as my Norwegian checking and savings account. A pain, and a lot of paper, but the way I read it, that's what they want.

Also remember that even though some people have gotten away with not providing all the information listed, that doesn't mean that they can't reject you/us for not providing the same information. The officers have a lot of discretion. I think the safest bet is to provide them with all the information they ask for.

My application was delivered today early in the morning. It looks like most of us should be on similar timelines since our applications have all been arriving this week. I would expect us to start getting our NOA1s within 9 to 14 days. But these are just estimates and USCIS sometimes takes longer. Now we just have to be patient and wait.

I didn't receive a response from uscis yet. they just signed for it. The mail is a little slow where I'm at, and now even slower.
I used UPS, not USPS since the USPS office close to me is closed. (military base). I purchased 2 day delivery but it took 5 days to receive.

I'll update as well, I was in the March section and I know a few that had some issues, but most got accepted.

Hi all.  Well, my fears have come true.  Our application came back again today with the exact same note, that it wasn't fully completed.  I am so confused and sad.  I do not know what we are possibly doing wrong. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions? : (
