I checked half an hour ago - said 'At NVC'. Checked five minutes ago, and we are 'In Transit'. So keep your chin up everyone -- good luck!

Yeah I doubt that every case status changes simultaneously to “In Transit”. My case just changed since a couple of hours ago.

Ours still shows at NVC.  It makes sense that they'd ship out by country so maybe they haven't gotten to Korean yet.  Hoping to see it update soon 🤞

I just called them today and got my case number.  They required 3 things to confirm my identity.
    USCIS receipt number
    Beneficiary's name and birth date
    My name
If I were you I'd try again.  When I called I chose option 7 (so if you tried something else maybe try 7 instead.)

Don't give up hope! As long as you have the case number by next Wednesday it should go out on 6/25.  I don't think we can do much with the numbers until the embassys receive our petitions so the only thing that really matters is the Wednesday cutoff.

called NVC and received my case number, yayyy
and thanks for the google drive file, I converted the Julian date 161 ( = 661 - 500 ) and found my case was approved on Jun 10 Monday. Now I think I will continue to wait patiently for the status update.

    See if this graph helps.

The timeline for receiving your case number is this. From USCIS to NVC about 4 weeks. NVC is issuing case number in about 2 weeks after receipt from USICS. Then your file is shipped to your embassy based on the current scheduling. June 11 or 25 are the shipment dates for this month. Case number assignment must be assigned before the Wednesday before the next shipping date. That is the history of the past 9 months.

So you are still too early.

My NOA2 is also 5/13. I called at 5pm EST and the rep stated that it arrived to the NVC in the morning of 6/5. No case number available yet though. ...Yours may have been arriving during the moments you called. The wait shouldn't be much longer

Come on now folks why would ANY of you lose hope? Has anyone here gone over 582 days or even 299 days ( mine and still waiting for an interview) has anyone waited that long? I think not so why would you lose hope or think negative? Let's be real here get your face up off the floor, you got this, we got this, things could be worst. All you can do is wait, wait and then wait some more until the day comes the sooner you realize that the better off you will be. Don't fight it trust the system that couple that just got approved after 582 days,  they had a simple case no marriages, no kids and look what it got them!!!! Tighten up folks dig in you'll be ok if you don't fall into that pit of despair!!!! Just some friendly advice, not trying to upset anyone just trying to get you back on track......YOU GOT THIS!!!!!!!

Here are the main documents Seunghyean had to collect. The Korean embassy information is very good.
    https://kr.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/75/K1.pdf

I will make some comments on some of the documents.
DS-160 Confirmation Page: See my previous posting.
Police Certificate: We found that there is a new option for the police certificate that many older websites don't mention. At the national police station, there is a short paper application form. You can request "For permission of foreign country immigration and stay". If you really want to be careful, just make sure that it will include Criminal Records and also 실효된 형 등 포함 which is Lapsed Records. I will post a photo of our results, below.
    Instructions for police certificate: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/kr/kr-iv-policerecords.asp
Basic Birth Certificate (기본증명서) and Family Relation Certificate (가족관계증명서) with English translation: Very simple to get, from the Family Court.
    7 new passport-style photos (2"x2" or 50mmx50mm): Don't wear glasses. 5 for medical, 2 for Visa interview.
Electronic Payment for Visa Fee: Most people use Citibank in-person. We tried the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) option, which worked well. This will just be from your bank's website. The confusing part is that the recipient name is very long.  (BANA SEL re Stanley US visaCol SFA). It will not all fit in the online EFT form. That's ok, just put as much as you can. We called the embassy to double check this. Our bank had space for 20 characters, but the name is 34 characters. Here is the link for EFT instructions:
    http://www.ustraveldocs.com/kr/kr-niv-eft240.asp
If you prefer Citibank in person, it is here: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/kr_kr/kr-depositslip.html?amount=265&country=korea&visaClass=K
Vaccinations: Seunghyean had to get several vaccines. Start EARLY on this (months before your medical appointment) just in case you need vaccines. For example the Varicella vaccine requires two doses, which are 2 months apart. Here is a long list of vaccines. Many of these are given in a combo dose. (e.g. TDap and MMR). Probably you don't need all of these, but we aren't sure yet. https://kr.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/75/2016/08/Vaccination.pdf
Medical Exam: We haven't done this yet, but I *think* you have to schedule your Visa interview, then you can get the medical appointment.
Visa Interview: We haven't scheduled yet, but here is the website. Be careful because now you have to choose Immigrant Visa for this step if you are K-1.
    Instructions: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/kr/kr-niv-appointmentschedule.asp

MisoBlu reacted to Thomas W in S. Korea - Interview Document Preparation questions
Hi everyone, I wanted to make this as a repository for info and questions on Korea procedures.

First, the Korean document list is here:
    https://kr.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/75/K1.pdf

The Korean embassy has a great series of instructional pages, starting here:
    http://www.ustraveldocs.com/kr/kr-niv-visaapply.asp

Ok, I do have some questions of my own, now that our application is about to move over to Seoul from the NVC.
    1. Has anyone used Electronic Funds Transfer in Korea yet? Is the system well-integrated with the interview scheduling site?
    (info here: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/kr/kr-niv-eft240.asp)

    2. For the "Marriage Relation Certificate," it is unclear if this is necessary to bring regardless of marital status. I assume it is. Where do we obtain this? (You can see this mentioned under the Divorce Decree or Spouse's Death Certificate section of the document list).

    3. Where do we obtain both versions of a birth certificate? Basic Certificate (기본증명서) and Family Relation Certificate (가족관계증명서)

    4. In this forum, there have been mixed reports on the success of obtaining the proper police certificate (실효된 형 등 포함). Are there any updates on this? Several people suggest needing to go Anguk police station, near Insadong. My fiancé lives a long way from Seoul, so I hope to avoid this.

    5. Lastly, now that I have my case number from the NVC, can we schedule the medical, do the DS-160, AND schedule the interview? I'm pretty clear that the first two are possible, but I'm unsure about the interview itself. Is there anyone with experience on this? We don't expect the packet to arrive to Seoul embassy until April 5-8.

    Thanks!
    -Thomas

Immigration laws didn't change because of the administration, but many are now inforced. The price of bread increased, did the administration tell all the bakers to raise their prices? The cost of adjudicating a visa is tied to your fees. When the cost goes up fees naturally increase. The administration had nothing to do with raising the fees. It's called inflation and is a common experience of capitalism sometimes referred to as supply and demand.

By all mean yes update your email address with NVC even if you had no changes. They may not have your address. At the same time you can request to be notified once your case in at NVC and also once a case number has been assigned. The email route does not always work (meaning they don't always answer or acknowledge), but at least it's out there. I'm sure most of you will get your case numbers by phone anyway, but yes do update your email address as well as your beneficiaries email address too.

She can stay for the length of the I94. Don’t  leave departing until the last day though.. as delays and flight cancellations can .. and do .. happen

Congratulations. Join us in the May 2019 K-1 NOA2 to NVC thread located here

Be sure to download PDF file with tips, tricks and hacks. It's the first post in the thread.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

    Thanks
