Since the Feb sheets file is not working, anyone seen or heard anything on YSC Potomac progress? We are like so many sitting on the automatic biometrics approved notice with the longer extension letter. The last two and half years have sucked for everyone. One would think they would just get on with it already. Dreading having to scramble if they drag out to the last minute on the existing extension wondering if they will issue yet another due to the processing delays. We try not to think about it, far back of our minds mostly, but occasionally check to see whats up, and of course nothing.

I looked at the other month files still out there and didn't see reports of any other YSC packets moving. But perhaps the files are not being updated?

My friend also has a I-751 pending in YSC since February and nothing after biometrics. =/

Hello Visa journey family! I hope everyone is doing well. I am a little confused I just received an update of my uscis account that: correspondence was received , but vawa was approved on 02/2021 . I just mailed my medical exam on Sept 15 . Does anyone knows what that means? Thanks everyone .Screenshot_20210922-094449_Chrome.thumb.jpg.a4e7adc5268c603e1ad492e0f6242b6d.jpg

It could mean they sent VT a letter letting them know your GC was approved. Happened with me. Check the status of your AOS

Hi folks! My Vawa was approved 3 months ago and my local office is Miami Dade. So far no update on my I-485. I just wonder if any of you have the same local office and how long it takes to get an interview date after Vawa approval ?

I got my vawa approved on November/2020 and green card on hands now September/2021 in Miami too. No interview, just got a request to mail in my medicals and 2 days after they received it, it showed that my I-485 was approved!

Does any one know how to get returned mail from USCIS , even though I have sent address changes to Vermont service center 2 times they still haven't changed my address. What would be the best process to get the mail as it has been already returned.

Contact your congressman. They can get a copy of the notice and make sure your address is updated for future mail!!

Hello, please someone help me with this concern: I received the Green Card through Wava some time ago.  I enrolled in the health program (Obama Care) and someone told me that it will affect me because that is considered Public Charge and therefore I will not be able to be an American citizen when my time to become one comes.  Is Obama Care Considered Public Charge?  Thank you all very much for helping me!

Public charge doesn’t not affect wava applicants! You have nothing to worry about.

Ok here is @hazel.60, I was able to find my old account!!!!!!

Hey @marcoisland777 ,I didn't get the green card, it was @Ana FL:)

btw @Ana FL how long after the 1-693 DEFICIENCY NOTICE did you get the actual request for the medical history? I received the notice ( listed below) On  July 1st   but no request for the documents yet. I actually got another appointment for the fingerprints for the I -485.  I'm a little confused because I already did that in 2019, but maybe it is because it has been over 2 years???

    1-693 DEFICIENCY NOTICE

    >>>>>>>>>An initial review of evidence submitted with your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, determined that the evidence submitted with your application is deficient for the following reason(s):
    • A completed and signed I-693 was not submitted.
You will be required to submit information and evidence to address these deficiencies.
. If you receive an interview notice in the mail, you must bring the information and evidence required to your interview appointment. Failure to bring the information and evidence to your interview appointment may result in the denial of your Form 1-485.
. If your case does not require an interview, you will receive a Request for Evidence with further instructions.<<<<<<

I received the deficiency notice in March and Aug the RFE for medical exam from my local office, MIAMI FL

    Hi everyone!

I hope you are all doing well. I was wondering if there is a way to file for divorce without the spouse being "involved" or at least make the process as smooth as possible since I am a VAWA applicant and do not wish to interact with my spouse. I have been willing to do this for the longest time but do not know how to proceed. I got married in NYC but do not even know where my spouse is currently living, we haven't been in touch since I left him in 2019. I currently reside in Maryland.

Can you guys tell me how I should proceed?

    Thanks in advance!

Look up to see if your state is allowing online divorce for simple divorce (no assets, no kids) if so, you just need his e-mail address to send the paperwork and as long as he is ok with the divorce it can be done very quickly, mine took less than a month.

    Hi VAWA family,

Does anyone know how the <official email> to Congress Person should be, when you want an official request about your case?  Can you please send me some samples?

    Thank you 🙏

There is no template just tell them you filed for vawa and you want to check the status of your case. Simple like that. If you have any other info like RFE, pass processing time, and more you let them know.
the. They will probably send you a form where you enter your receipt number, alien number and they can check your case for you

Thank you, I actually did that, and congressman’s office said, they’ve already gotten a response and USCIS will probably send the same response again, so there is nothing else they can do.

I did file an online inquiry and I am expected to hear back in the first week of September.

I don’t think you will hear anything back from an online inquiry because it’s vawa, nothing can be done online.

ask you congressman to ask uscis for a copy of your receipt, to see what date is there. I know you have one but ask him/her to get a copy from uscis to double check the date, name and alien number

Hello Family, I posted awhile back regarding my inquiry, which was done through congressman and then I had the inquire again, as the dates on my i-360 werent match and attached os the response for Uscis, I don’t understand how could that be since I filled in May 20th, 2019 and on the website when i login it says, received June 3rd 2019, I did get my prima facia in June 2019, as well I don’t understand why they are saying case received November 12 2020.

i did made an account on their website on, 11-28-2020 though.

any suggestions and input will really help calm my nerves, I’ve been stressing over it and don’t know what to do,

    @Stillwinning!!!😊

Send your congressman a copy of your receipt and highlight the date. Ask them for clarification from USCIS why your dates are not matching

By the way, USCIS temporarily extended I-693 to 4 years, but how can an applicant know if their I-485 will be decided before Sept 30? Anyone else try to understand this new policy: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/policy-manual-updates/20210812-I-693ValidityPeriod.pdf

Wait.. so I had one done in 2019 for my marriage based I-485. So I don’t need a new one? @Demise @Stillwinning!!!😊 @sandranj

    thanks in advance
