Hi, so happy to hear you were able to expedite!! Did you email or call them to expedite? Also did you present a job offer as a reason?

@SJ2020 Thank you, we are very excited as well.

I called them first to request the expedite processing based on humanitarian reasons for a job offer at a company that is considered an essential employer during the pandemic. After the request was done over the phone, the same day (yesterday) I received an email requesting proof, within an hour I faxed over a copy of the job offer and this morning I was notified that the expedite request was approved.

Same. I got one for my birth certificate. I ended up copying it again, printing the page from travel.gov, from the link which was part of the RFE for my country on the particulars they should expect and wrote a cover letter explaining it all.  Even though we had easy to use tabs for each submission and evidence in our original submission, they still miss these things.

OMG same with us. Got an RFE for my husband’s birth certificate, which was included in the original filing. Our response was received May 12th. Back to the waiting game.

I know my advice isn't as good as others who already got accepted but I have read a lot about this on forums and can answer part one of your question - whether you have a social security number or not, if you are new to the country you will not be able to get a credit report.  My husband has had his for two months now and we still get an error report when we try to get the credit report.  We included a letter explaining it along with the error screens.

@AgiJA @kec523 has very good advice and at this point with the I-944 it’s all about trial and error. I included my explanation of no credit report on the cover letter.

Good luck and I hope your application is accepted without any issues. It took about 2 weeks after they received the application to process the payment and text me NOA1 #’s. I received the physical letters yesterday.

With any governmental form, information should be true and factual and if it indeed doesn't apply to you then N/A is sufficient answer. So for your husbands education, it should have been listed regardless if he graduated HS or not. This bit of information will not get you a denial, but will probably asked at your interview and it's easily answered by you without any prejudice.

BTW to link another post just use the "share this post" symbol in the upper right hand corner of the post you want to share. Copy the link and apply it to your post where needed.

Thank you @Greenbaum re: how to share a post.  Just to be clear I did include his HS education information on the I-944, I did not include any supporting documents regarding his high school education.  Sorry if I was unclear about that on my response.

Thank you. My husband and I are just so confused about the whole education thing. I considered omitting his high school information, but I don't want it to bite us in the butt further down the line. What country is your husband from?

@BirdSong My husband is from Cape Verde. I included that he completed the 11th grade and plans on taking English courses to improve his English.  I know what you mean; I will definitely keep the post updated if I get an RFE on this.

@kec523 Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that!! Below is what I included with my filing:

    I-864:

    2018 Federal Tax Transcripts

    I-944:

An Attestation signed by me stating that my two minor children are my husband's household members

Our daughter's birth certificate as evidence of relationship/household member

My most recent checking, savings & retirement account statements (They weren't really statements, but like account overview)

Credit Report Screen Shot showing that we were unable to procure a credit report

My husband does not have any work certifications, no health insurance at this time, he went up to the 11th grade, so no high school diploma.  In the section about English language skill, I put that he plans on attending classes to improve his English.  I made sure I had an answer for every question; when a question did not apply I put "N/A"

How about part 3, question 1? ( This part was a little confusing for me) Our household size is 5- so even for the kids I answered "YES"  to the question that someone in the household has filed a tax return & the amount.  This part had me unsure if I even completed the form correctly. I'm still not sure I did (LOL)

Just to address your questions above:

    part 3, question 6- I put N/A

Let me know if there is any way I can help.

@BirdSong this is the post I was referring to.

Yay! How was it filling out the i-944? What did you include as education? Did you have the US equivalency done?  My husband has two GCSEs, and we are getting them evaluated.

We are having a hard time with the credit score.  He doesn't have a SSN so online, we can't even try to print out those error messages like everyone else seems to be doing.

@BirdSong the I-944 was the most confusing form I filled out. My husband only went up to the 11th grade so I didn’t include any education information. There’s a post right before this where I mentioned everything I included with the I-944. I’m not sure how to add a link to it but I will tag you on it. Hope it helps.

My February submission got rejected because I sent late without the I-944. I had other forms returned with it as well; I-864, I-131, and I-765. They all have some markings on the bottom of the pages. They are all still valid dates and forms though. Should I re-print and send new copies or should I just remove the NOA that's stapled on top of the forms and submit them as is with the markings from USCIS?

The NOA states that everything has been returned because the principal application has not been accepted.

@soco When mine was rejected in Feb, I reused the same valid forms with the markings on the bottom when I refilled and it was accepted.

Wow, you sure have a lot going on! I can relate a little bit - I am pregnant and trying to do all of this while dealing with first trimester sickness has been ROUGH!

We haven't gotten an NOA1 or payment yet either.  I am assuming things are crazy there and they were already behind from the 2/24 rush.  Hopefully we hear something soon! You are a few days ahead of me since mine was received on Monday March 9th - so please keep me posted - if you have a chance!!! Totally understand if not!

@kec523 I’ll definitely keep you posted and you do the same as well. Congratulations on your pregnancy!! I hope is smooth sailing for you after the first trimester!

    Hi all,

Just wanted to share that I sent in my application yesterday, (Saturday 3/7).  I have no idea what to expect as we did not have proof of the "no credit score."  I sent in screenshots of the error messages for the online requests and a letter that explains he does not have a score, and we applied for one by mail as well, but haven't gotten a response.  In another thread about the 944, someone shared that they sent in the snail mail request and it just came back after 3 weeks.  So at this point, it seems maybe the best course of action is to send that in and wait until it comes back and include that in the packet.

Too late for me, but since I sent mine in about 2 weeks ago, I should get it soon and if I get an RFE I will send it back with this included.

Could be I made lots of mistakes on the form - I am planning to share as much as possible so others can learn from them! My form should arrive tomorrow or Tuesday to the lockbox, I'm hearing there's a big delay on even the NOA-1 ever since the Feb 24th push, so not sure how long until I will hear anything! Now we wait!

@kec523 For my fiancé I did the same where I sent a print screen of the error message regarding his credit score. We shall see.

I re-submitted the AOS packet of March 3 and it was received March 5; still waiting on NOA1 and no payment has been taken from my account yet. (Which makes me a little nervous b/c our original filing of 2/12 was rejected b/c my credit card # was off by 1# 🤦🏽‍♀️ Grrrr... I’m still bummed about that! Trying to get the AOS app in before the 2/24 change and the arrival of our baby [also 2/24])

  12. Wow- There was a lot of back & forth for what seemed like a simple question.

To answer your question, yes you HAVE to disclose that you were arrested & charged with this crime.  Include a certified criminal docket entry with your filing so CIS can see the disposition of the case.  The only thing that may be an issue, is the fact it was "recent".

For my case, I was charged with DV A&B and it was dismissed; in 2014.  The I-129F was approved in 3 months time with NO RFE and my fiancee had his interview on Friday and was approved.  My charge did not come up at his interview; even though he was fully aware of it.  I'm not sure the embassy your fiancee may use when he/she reaches that stage, if the DV charge will be brought up.  I hope this helps.

We got approved!!! 😱 NOA 1- 10 April. NOA 2 - July 8. Guys, we can't believe this. I had this weird feeling today, I did so much research, I wrote in this forum and after 89 days today we got our NOA 2. We found out from the USCIS website. We're over the moon. ❤️ Good luck everyone. They're moving pretty fast. 🤗

WOW!!! Congrats! This is exciting news! I should start checking mine 20 times a day to see if that helps!!!  LOL

I did the credit card. But they have not charged card yet.

My petition was received on the 3rd and my check was cashed on the 9th. I included the electronic notification form with my petition and I have yet to receive any confirmation of my case. I received the hard copy of NOA on Friday (4/12).  Call them if you don’t receive anything 14-16 days from filing.
