Hi everyone!
Just wondering how long your CR1 actually took start to finish? I've seen many estimates on many websites.
Thanks in advance!
It took us 11 months for Morocco. Every case is a little different . Just be as organized as you can, and make sure all your ducks are in a row. That’s the best you can do.

Hello i wanted to ask i am petioner planning on filing fiance i129f visa application i have met fiance before in person on 3 seperate occasions but has been more than two years ago currently wouldnt like to travel because of pandemic situation i read somewhere where if we havent seen each other 2 years prior to filing with it causing hardship situation to petioner can pandemic situation be used as cause for hardship?
I don’t think this would work. Further. The pandemic is really at month 7 , so I think a red flag would be, why didn’t you see him/ her in the 17+ months prior to the pandemic. It’s best to meet again before filing everything.

Yes, if one has unlimited money or a rich uncle , we can go to Sri Lanka by spaceship. No amount of medication can help this type of phobia, all it does is calm a person down a bit by reducing blood pressure....the anxiety is still there. Only a person with this condition can understand.
If I'm going to Sri Lanka, will a 3 week stay just once be enough?
Have you tried exposure therapy? In this type you would do therapy and then the therapist would go in the airplane with you( not all the way there) but a short flight in the states . I am not trying to undermine your phobia, but their can be ways to overcome phobias with hard work and time. It’s not magic, and won’t happen overnight. Just a suggestion as being in a transcontinental relationship, with one person not being able to come here, and the other unable to fly is obviously a lot of extra hurdles. Good luck!

From what I understand, this won’t work. Your marriage has to have ‘ consummation’. .

My husband was in the same situation. He went and did new police reports to bring to the interview with him( as well as the originals that were uploaded on CEAC). They never asked him for the new ones, just the ones he had uploaded to CEAC. This was for Morocco and every consulate is a little different- maybe post in the Kuwait forum to see others with the same situation? Good luck!!!!

My wife had already requested one version through snail male via there website but since it is automated process i am not sure they are gonna send masked or unmasked version. So just to be extra cautious we called them again at 1-800-908-9946 and were told system is under maintenance and they asked us to call again on Thursday. So i guess on Thursday we will specifically request for unmasked version. My only worry is on their website it is written this no1-800-908-9946 is automated service, so will we be able to speak to human or they will automatically sent whatever version their procedure dictates?
Its not mentioned anywhere (which i could find) that snail mail version (requested via website or phone) is unmasked.
Thanks
Not sure of that number, this is the one I called from their website: 800-829-1040 . Expect spending a good 30 minutes on hold.
the copy I received from this number was ‘unmasked’ .

Thanks. I guess we shall request unmasked version just to be on safe side.
I would call them ASAP to request this version. I did the same and it took a good 15 days to receive in the mail.

The majority of our messages too were not in English, and we were approved from uscis without needing to translate though everything else ( documents ) we did translate . That aside, as JFH said focus on other things too and not just these messages . Good luck!

Hi everyone.
I have read that Moroccan law prohibits cohabitation without marriage and hotel owners sometimes ask for a marriage license prior to offering a room. I have read that this law is mostly overlooked for foreigners, but it may be sometimes enforced for Moroccans.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Is the law enforced? Would it be a bad idea to travel in Morocco with one's Moroccan fiancee?
Hotels do encore this and ask for a marriage certificate . Prior to being married we would rent apartments from booking.com or other websites when traveling in other parts of Morocco away from his house. This was never a problem. Good luck!

Hello my fellow VJ families....
Okay, so our file was approved on the 23rd of October, we haven't heard from NVC yet. Should we call them (NVC) now, or we should just chill and wait till we hear from them?.
Then secondly, who has a similar timeline to ours and have you heard from NVC already, or did you call or wait?
And our file was approved from Texas Center.
Best of luck to every one of us on our Visa Journey. XOXO 💕💕💕💕
I was approved same day- also from Texas . I actually called NVC yesterday and they said to call back in another week, they were currently assigning case numbers from petitions they received on 10/21, and they received mine on 11/06.
Best of luck!!! -

Hey we sent our application on July 2019 and today (November 13 2019) we got sent an RFE. We sent everything they wanted from us the first time and I just dont know what else could they possibly want. Anyone with a similar experience that got approved after this?
I received one too. For a divorce decree even though it was submitted with my original petition. Try not to over stress!

Hello Miriamc, my husband and I got a RFE exactly for the same reason than you 🤔... divorce decree in English (which we -like you- definitely had mailed with our petition)... We are sending it back tomorrow (express way). Which me luck 😉 - I wish you good luck for the rest of your process 🤩
Alix
I’m sorry to hear. I know super frustrating when it’s a doc you already submitted... but what can you do!? Best of luck . Good news is Texas seems to be pretty quick to review rfe’s( my rfe was mailed to me 10/01 , I sent it back ASAP and got my noa2 10/23) . Others have had similar timelines too. you should have your noa2 very very soon. Best of luck and keep us posted .

What was your RFE??
It was for a copy of my divorce decree- which I certainly had sent in with my petition. So that was annoying, but done with now!

Hello guys,
I sent the RFE reply 2 days back. Now we are waiting on USCIS. Do any one know how long USCIS take to confirm that they receive our mail (RFE packet response)...
I got an RFE ( Texas too) on 10/01. on 10/07 i sent what they wanted back. On 10/15 received notice that they had received my response . I was approved and received my NOA2 on 10/23.
so really 23 days is how long my rfe took. Finger crossed for you it is quick too.

Thank you! I hope so. It saysd my response received 7 days ago... original receipt date was 4/7/2019. All they wanted in my RFE was one passport photo!
Mine was for a copy of my divorce decree ( which I definitely had mailed with my petition) . Fingers crossed you hear any day now!

Hey - was this Texas? I sent in my RFE a week a go and waiting...
Yes Texas . My uscis login still isn’t updated but I called and found out I was approved and got my NOA 2 in the mail. Hoping you get yours any day now!

It was for initial evidence.

I received an RFE on oct 1, I sent my response on Oct 7th. Oct 15 uscis acknowledged receipt of it and I was approved oct 23.

Thanks for that. I sure hope so. Seems like a nitpicky RFE is becoming the norm rather than the exception.
Good luck to you and try not to stress about what it can be ( I know easier said then done).
the reality is rfe’s are very common

Thanks so much for getting back to me. I don't even know what they want yet. MYUSCIS account hasn't posted anything and nothing in the mail.... just shows up in the Case Status Online for now. Looks like one system doesn't talk to the other.
I got mine in the mail after 4 days . It was for a copy of my divorce decree ( which is frustrating as it was definitely sent with my initial 130). Hopefully it is something small like that

I just got a RFE as well ( April 12 is my NOA1 date) . I sent back what they wanted 10/07. I have been told Texas averages 30 days to review RFE. Looking at others timelines that also received an RFE, it seems many were approved in a 30 day window. Good luck!
met while still married
in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures

I married my Moroccan husband just 2 months after my divorce from my first husband on paper. We had lived separate for a long time and honestly meeting another person was not even in my mind which is why I never rushed /
bothered with the divorce papers. However after I met my now husband, I started the divorce process. This was never an issue with the consulate and my husband got his visa aprox one week after his interview.
