Random question,
If your submission/resubmission date is past the date thats posted online, does that give you more leeway when calling NVC?
Like if you submitted Jan 1 and the site says they're reviewing Jan 4.
FYI, this is not my current situation, just curious.

I was thinking they're still moving at a snail's pace! Haha. Glad to see some glass-half-full thinkers!
Well for the past few weeks they've been moving at 4 day increments per week. This week it jumped 8 days. Ill take anything that's closer to Jan 14 lol

So exciting to finally see NVC make a significant jump from one week to the next. As of today they're reviewing cases from Jan 4th 🙌🏻👏🏻

It is very frustrating for sure! Almost worse than waiting over a year in Nebraska service center 🤪. I have similar dates to both of your submissions, next week is our week for sure. Hang in there!! 😬
Very hard to see people with later submission dates than yours getting approved as well. No one seems to know why this happens, if there was a method to the madness that would help me accept it better 😄
Whats more annoying is that the NVC tells you on the phone that they are working in order and that you need to check the website to see where they are? LIES and garbage.

When was your submission date ?
Yes, it makes me wonder if the case review times they update every week is truly accurate or not 🤔.
My resubmission was on Jan14. Obviously the website says they're still on Dec, but Ive seen 4 people today with dates after mine get DQ. Oh well eh?

Congrats to all who are getting DQ'ed.
To be honest seeing all these people getting DQ with submission dates after mine makes me feel like the fat kid being picked last for basketball 😂

second submission December 31

Good luck to everyone!!
🥰🥰So happy for y'all....it's also nice to see they're on Dec 31 lol

Happy March everyone.
First I'd like to say we're (wife and I) very frustrated just like all of y'all. Our 3rd anniversary was last week and we spent it 9,000 miles apart...our first anniversary separate.
Heres my game plan, let me know what y'all think.
My resubmission was Feb 15 (almost there according to the website). If and when we go to the interview I plan to present a letter from my HR manager stating I'll have insurance starting in September and my wife can be added once enrollment opens. My job offers 100% coverage free insurance for me and my family. I know its not 30 days after she'll enter but I'll have it available in Sept.
Do y'all think I should get insurance within the 30days they're asking for, or should me jobs insurance plan in September be good enough? 😔

Hate to say so, but yeah..
question now is, if we don’t upload it given we don’t have DQ, will we get an RFE delaying everyone by another 8 weeks.. it’s my understanding that they’re only asking for DS5540 at the interview for those that already have DQ
1 hour ago, Tofu said:I am assuming it will put us to the bottom of the pile too. I am hoping that they are going to just ask us to bring to the interview since the form was not available when we initially uploaded.
I'd like to be optimistic and believe that NVC will have enough common sense to not REF people who submitted or resubmitted before Feb 24. It makes no sense to REF someone who submitted in Dec or Jan.....besides they don't make the final decision, the Interviewer does.

Did this get accepted? I know of someone who attached a W2 and a transcript in one PDF and that was her only RFE...
yes everything was accepted. I only submitted tax transcripts, no W-2 etc, and everything was fine. I can't speak for the person who got the RFE. I submitted 3 years of transcripts in one PDF

Hello everyone! While uploading supporting AOS documents to NVC, should I submit two 1099s as a single pdf file or should I upload them separately?
Thanks in advance.!Some people do it separately, but I did it all together. I scanned all my tax papers into one PDF, wrote with black pen the year they were on the front of every page and when I saved the file I changed to file name to [casenumber_Beneficiary name_Document name] Example: RDJ1223455667789_JaneDoe_TaxTranscript. I had no issues, just keep each file under 2MB and you'll be fine.

After nearly two weeks of waiting to hear back from NVC just to say they got our expedite request, they emailed us on Friday asking for us to send a copy of the I-797.
I'd never heard of that being a requirement when requesting an expedite, especially since we provided the case number etc and they've received the case.
So we sent them it on Saturday and now are back to waiting again, yay! 🙄
What reason did you use to request the expedite?

Given all this confusion with this new form, I'd like to politely request that anyone who has an interview from here on forward to please come back on VJ and tell us your experience at the interview with the new form required (How you filled it out, a rough idea range of the income/assets), just so we who are beating ourselves here can have an idea.
Thanks.

I agree. It’s a very sloppy form. And the fact that they even ask if you have insurance purchased for when you arrive in the us makes no sense.m since you can’t even purchase it until you’re here! They didn’t research at all when making this form I feel like
My point exactly!!! Some questions don't make any sense, especially Part 4 where it asks to list the tax returns filed for the last 3 years......HOW IN THE WORLD is an beneficiary supposed to file 3 years of taxes when they're not even in the US????? They obviously rushed this form just to get it passed quickly.

@Mr & Mrs T Obviously I don't know anything either -- but might be smart to also bring some sort of 3rd party evidence of your assets? (Vehicle registration, Bank statements, etc.)?
1 hour ago, JuJu83 said:It's very subjective. Even though the sponsor has agreed to backup the applicant's insurance & cost of living in the USA, if they can see the applicant has no asset/income but relying on income source from relative or local govt, they can still deny for the visa.
Part 9 of the questioner says "
9. List the assets available to you in the table below. For example, cash assets may include checking and savings accounts, etc. Non-cash assets may include equity in real estate, annuities, securities, etc."
Given that it says "Assets *available* to you", Im assuming it means either assets from the petitioner or joint sponsor.
To be honest this questioner isn't very well played out in my opinion.

Yes, but how to prove it? I feel lost right now 😭
8 minutes ago, Hilde said:I am not sure how to prove this if both petitioner and beneficiary live abroad at the time of the interview.
ahhhhhh, poise!! I the petitioner lives in Brazil still then obviously you'll have a joint sponsor......so maybe the joint sponsor can send a letter for you to take to the interview explaining how they'll help cover insurance until your spouse find a job. Im not 100% sure, but that's what I'd do.......especially since we all don't really know much about this new STUPID rule.

I don't know how to prove I'll get coverage there, I'm super confused. My husband will pay for my insurance and the I-184 insures that, even with a joint sponsor. But I don't have a tax return there, I've never been to the US and I don't earn enough in Brazil. What a mess!
From what I understand on the form, you just have to prove that you'll have coverage within the first 30 days after you arrive.

Exactly!!! They were off during the holidays and I doubt anyone was submitting. Hopefully we'll see a jump on these weekly updates.....Cuz 4 day increments aint cutting it for me. Come on Jan 15th hahah

Sick over the possibility of not getting DQ this time (I resigned from my job in Nov expecting this NVC portion to be quick. HAHA!). These forums can be encouraging, but also a bit anxiety-inducing as you see every possible scenario of what could go wrong. Try to trust that they asked for what they needed and pray for DQ this time! Good luck! Definitely a stressful wait.
4 hours ago, Hilde said:I'm sorry you have been waiting so long. I can't give you any advice, as I'm not at the document submission stage yet (almost). But I can commiserate and just tell you that one day in the near future this will all be in the past. Right now this is the most important thing in your lives and you think about it constantly. It WILL get approved. You WILL be with your wife shortly. And in a few months time you'll just be glad it's all over. You won't remember the small details. Good luck! We're all cheering you on!
4 hours ago, LilyJ said:Hard to know what NVC actually does when they review for the second time, but all you really can do is hold hope and confidence. When we had our second submission I had the same worries, “what if they look at it again and decide ‘actually we don’t like this or we want this or that’?” I was worried sick about them looking at my dads birth certificate again (which they accepted the first time around) and deciding they didn’t like it (not sure if it’s a “short form” but definitely doesn’t have a lot of info on it..), but luckily the second time around everything was good and they didn’t change their mind on any previous submitted docs.. so I would just try to hold as much confidence as you can and try to keep the mindset of “if they didn’t like it before they would have said so” and try to take that nothing else was pointed out the first time around as a good sign that everything else should be fine
Thanks for yalls encouraging words everybody. Its nice to have people who understand your own stress and worries.

Hey guys, 1st Congrats to all who got DQ'ed.
and now I have a question hopefully someone knows the answer. When you resubmit a missing/requested document, does NVC review ALL the documents again...like the ones that have already been "Accepted"?
I submitted back in November (Everything expect one document was approved), resubmitted the incorrect document on Jan 15 and waiting still.
With all this talk about missing unemployment cover letters and etc my stomach just drops just to think if they open all my approved documents and re-review them again and decide they want more.
I don't think I can handle a 3rd resubmission, my wife would literally lose her mind having to wait 2-3 more months. I. just want them to open the file, look at the resubmitted Doc and DQ.
Ive literally lost sleep over this.

I would say AOS from non-immigrant should only be allowed within a very narrow scope of circumstances, but simply being LUCKY enough to be admitted in as a non-USC and then just deciding “out of the blue” to stay should be scrapped.
Also, is birthright citizenship still a thing? I thought that was gone long ago.
A woman who is in her ninth month of pregnancy can fly into any POE and bluntly say she wants to give birth in America to the CBP as long as she has proof of funds to pay for it and will be allowed to enter. It is completely legal.

its mailed to the address you put on the DS260. I believe they confirm the address at POE also.
