    Hi,

My case got approved June 2020 and we did not get any news since than, we are supposed to get the interview schedule, and no new at all... Does anyone knows if the Montreal Consulate is doing interviews? and the delays?

    Thanks

They are doing interviews - they scheduled some IR1/CR1 interviews in November. For IR1/CR1, the last interview they scheduled was for someone with a Jan 6 DQ date (that was me).

There is a spreadsheet keeping track of interview dates. If you fill out your timeline, you can ask to be added to the spreadsheet:

There is also an FAQ for Montreal CR1/IR1:

And this thread in the forum is full of other IR1/CR1s waiting for their Montreal interviews:

    Best wishes to @eketros & @JordynLDiMarco tomorrow!

Thanks! I'm just sitting in my hotel right now, trying to watch tv & not be too nervous. Right now my biggest fear is just that I'm going to wake up with a fever and not be able to go anywhere 😅

Lucky for me Montreal is beautiful right now! It was 20 degrees Celsius today! I have to walk about a mile to the consulate, so I was worried it was going to be cold.

My first (now expired) says “for non certified criminal information” and my new one that I just got says “other” 😬 now I’m stressed and thinking I should make an appointment to try and get the other one again haha

I'm in the exact same position. My interview is Nov 9th though, so even if I go to Commissionaires tomorrow, I don't think I will get it back before I leave for my interview

I just got an interview date! I just received the email, at 2:10am Eastern Time! My interview is November 9th. I was DQ'd Jan 6th. I did NOT have an interview date before COVID - they've started scheduling new interviews!!! :)

So I realized I only got an email for myself, but not one for my 18-year-old son. I called NVC and they said that he is in line for an interview, and it is noted in the file we are to be interviewed together. She said to just keep an eye out for the email, it should come soon.

Our DQ emails were received over 3 hours apart, so hopefully this is the same kind of thing and his will come tonight. Fingers crossed! I don't want to book anything until I have them both!!!

Do we just need long form birth certificates to submit with the i130 for me and my kids?  (ON & MB).

Or is it the certified copy of record?

They say either long form birth certificates or the certified copies are acceptable. What you need is listed here:

    https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Canada.html

    Manitoba:

    >Applicants should obtain "large" certificates or certified copies from the Vital Statistics Agency in Winnipeg

    Ontario:

    >Applicants should obtain "large" certificates or certified copies of a registration

For the initial i130 I believe you only need the children's birth certificates, not the foreign spouse. But you will need all the birth certificates for the DS-260 stage.

Ask the appropriate Government Office directly.

Sorry I guess I worded my post poorly! I wasn’t trying to ask a question, I was trying to offer a suggestion - that the original poster should find out if they can get it faster in person.

I know that at least some counties in California will allow you to get your marriage certificate the same day you get married.  (You can get the license, get married at the county clerks office, then get the certificate all on the same day.) So I meant to suggest that they either check if things can be done faster in person, or check if another nearby county offers better wait times and go there instead.

  7. Do you know if you can get the marriage certificate any sooner if you pick up in person? I noticed some of the counties have a long mailing time, but will allow you to pick it up sooner.

Also, have you considered going to a different county for your marriage license? You can go to any county in California to get the license - it doesn’t have to be the one you get married in. Different counties have different processing times. Some will let you get the certified copy of the marriage license the same day they receive it, if you go I’m person. Some just have a 10 day wait.
