I get that, but aslo realize the inability to work for several months is baked into the K-1 process.
You cannot work without authorization. It doesn't matter if it's on site or at home, for a separate company or self-employment.
@Paul & Maryok thanks for the advise.

You can't work until you have a Green Card or EAD.
Feel free to take all the tests and interviews you want tho.
@Paul & Maryyeah I know, I am just wondering if working from home will not affect somehow. Anyway, thanks!

Do you have authorization to work? If yes, go ahead and start working. If not, wait/ file for it before starting.
@p-ananope, I do not have the authorization yet. Just had my biometrics last July 26, and no interview yet, last updated via case status was July 30, and it has been a few weeks now. I just want to work while staying at home to help my husband somehow in our finances. I sent an email to the employer and I guess I need to wait for the reply. Thanks!

Hi guys!
I am currently waiting for my visa interview for Permanent Residency (K1 Visa). Is it ok if I work from home here in Texas? which is obviously a US Company. I passed all the exams, however they want to set up an interview via skype, I am just wondering if it is legal. Any advise will be of great help. Thank you

Texas has multiple field offices, including the two slowest in the country (Houston and Dallas), and field offices in large cities usually have multiple application support centers (for biometrics).
Being in the same state means nothing for relative processing times unless the state has only one field office and one application support center for the whole state, which is true for some states, but certainly is not for Texas.
@DaveAndAnastasia - just received my biometrics schedule. So pleased. Field office in San Antonio it is.

I’ve been waiting over 7 weeks now for our Biometric appointment letter. Starting to get nervous....
Her friends here migrated on K1 and had biometric within 2 weeks. I don’t know why ours always takes so long.
We are all in Texas too! So I really don’t understand these wait times and why it’s so different.
@nekotakachoI know, it is always the waiting part that's hard.

It could well take longer than that. It's been more than six weeks since my AOS notice date of May 24, and I've yet to receive my biometrics notice. There are a number of other people who filed at around the same time or even earlier who are still waiting, too.
And yet some people who filed after me have already received their notices. The only conclusion to draw from this is that it's impossible to say how long anything involving USCIS will take...
@JudeB77 it is a case to case basis I guess. So, all we have to do is wait. I am just worried about the medical that they did, which will only be good for 6 months. We don't want to pay all over again just for that.

Can you tell me when your AOS packet was received by USCIS? Just trying to compare timelines since we are both in Texas. Thanks!
@Symphonyx2 June 25 we received the notice. Thanks!

After ISSUED it can be 2 days before the visa package is released to 2GO, so you are looking at 5-10 business day before the visa package is in hand. If picking up at 2GO MOA it can be a couple days quicker.
@Hank thank you! Metro Manila area up to 10 days as well? Just asking.

The date change and flipping from immigrant to nonimmigrant means exactly that the consular has approved the application as submitted subject to final administration . It's the same as the consular saying your approved at the window and handing you the pamphlet
@payxibka hello. Just to give you an update. My status changed to ISSUED today 🙏👍 now question is how long will it take to get my passport? Am so pleased!

Read my statement. I told you that when it turns to non-immigrant, which you just confirmed that this is your present status, then you are close to visa issuance. Simple.
@greenbaum I got it already, thanks. I was just clarifying because the drop down option that I was using on CEAC is still Immigrant not Non-Immigrant for that matter. The only difference I saw was the one I stated. Appreciate your help, thanks! I am hoping that it will be issued soon. I still have to attend CFO Seminar before I can fly. Thanks again 🙂

Then you just need to wait. Once it moves over to "non-immigrant" you'll be close to receiving your visa. How long? I can't tell you that as I and others cannot predict that occurrence.
@Greenbaumyou mean if I can already check the status using Non immigrant tab? Because I just noticed that on top of the ADMIN PROCESSING - it is Non immigrant, well in fact it was Immigrant before. I am kinda confused to be honest 😞

2 hours ago, Dia pe said:
Is it still on immigrant ap?
@Greenbaumyes. But from immigrant to non immigrant on top of the admin processing.

Someone is "touching" your case and this normal and something that you should want. The continue to work on your case.
@Greenbaumthanks!

That is exactly what I meant. It means they have reviewed you additional documents and have approved the visa
@payxibkaoh! Well that is good to hear 👍🙏

Quite normal for the date to change, that simply means someone has opened your case file. If all is now good with your application you will be seeing ISSUED eventually. And as was noted by others it will change from Immigrant to Non-Immigrant visa eventually as well.
@Hankgot it. Hoping for the best. Thanks

@JFH I understand that, however K1 is the fastest, that is why my husband and I opted to apply for that. I am just looking for options to be productive enough. Anyway, thanks for the input.
