Sounds like a win.

There is a very strong chance that her AOS has been abandoned.........If so, the only solution is a CR-1/IR-1 from the beginning.
Note: Cardiac stents are are pretty routine these days......

SJordanS reacted to Crazy Cat in Divorce and Remarry: Getting to the US Faster on a K-1 Visa?
Have you evaluated the real differences between a K-1 and a CR-1?
K-1
More expensive than CR-1
Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork)
Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 5-6 months)
Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 5-6 months)
Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period
Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed.
CR-1
Less expensive than K-1
No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required.
Spouse can immediately travel outside the US
Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival.
Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US
Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport.
Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.

So do I. I think I am going to apply for Canadian PR under Express Entry. I am pretty close to 450 points which I think is the right passing mark. With the way healthcare and social security are going in this country—> me thinking that retiring as a Canadian might be nice

I wonder how much of this could be overcome by wearing a T-shirt that says, "Relax, Gringo -- I'm Legal!"

Only ones I've watched are the American version and the Canadian version...it's interesting to see how 1) people react when their lies are unraveled, and, 2) people suddenly become unaware that certain items are prohibited only after the items are found buried at the bottom of their luggage...the usual response being "I didn't know that was in there..." (after saying earlier that they'd packed their own suitcase)

Just to update everyone here. I took flash screens of what you all said and flooded my cousins phone with text messages. Hope they listen to reason. We shall find out and I will be back hope everyone follows this so when I have the obvious update no one tries to repeat this.

How about the horse jockey from the UK swearing he did not come to the states to work at the race track yet brought his racing helmet and racing boots. CBP sized them up telling him its his size and to try on the boots on 😂 reminded me of OJ Simpson and the glove 😂

As an American, I LOVE being mistaken for Canadian.

Apparently @MacUK watched a different Australian version than I did. Nothing laid back about the many episodes I saw, whether it was drugs, people intending to look for work illegally, or sweet Chinese grannies who didn't realize that they couldn't bring in all this food for their kids. My take-away from that was never ever neglect to read and follow the rules about what you are and aren't allowed to bring in to Australia.

The NZ one is good, too.

I love the Australian version, they're so laid back about everything, even the serious stuff.
The U.S. version shows the officers being very stern and by the book.
The U.K. version is more about bureaucracy.
The Australian version? "Two kilos of cocaine in your bag? Not smart mate. No worries, we'll just arrest you, wait for the Feds to get here and you'll go to prison for years. Do you want a drink while we wait?"

Just watched the first episode (in my office, at work, I might add)! Fantastic. I'm gonna binge on this...

One episode that stuck out to me was an elderly woman openly telling the CBP that she was coming in to take care of her grandkids so her son can go back to work. CBP just waved her through.

Sorry that was a typo. He DOES plan on telling the embassy he got married

Actually, we are watching the series now. Quite interesting on what people think they can get away with. Also learned a few things too that my wife had misconceptions about.

Hopefully she can drop everything and move to his country so that they don't have to be apart for 2+ years.

I think the reality show profiling CBP's work should be required viewing for anyone entering the US (it's currently available on Netflix). I'm amazed how many people enter this country under false pretenses. A lot of them are Canadian too! With much less to gain than someone from a developing country. Boggles my mind...

The chances of getting another B with a recent bounce is so low as to be nigh on impossible, wonder what sort of job he does that requires him to visit the US for so long and for so often. An easy refusal.
I say chances as we never know the fully story, just glimpses, and he is certainly free to apply.
Lie, well that just adds a waiver to the equation, more money and another year or so processing.
Sounds like the ost practical solution would be her to be the one that moves.

I'm sure everyone here has given all great answers and I won't reiterate about telling the truth and being honest, but let your "friends" know, even if they get through with their lies, if found out eve 5-6 years from now, all can be stripped from them because of it. So is it worth the risk? No.

And he’s been pretty ..l tried to be diplomatic but dumb is the only word that springs to mind... in the big scheme of things. Spouses of USCs get forgiven a lot...if they are physically in the US. If they are not, it’s a much bigger problem. It’s entirely possible that if he does lie about his marriage to try get a B visa he’ll get a misrep ban, as that would be in writing on the DS160 and intent to mislead to get a visa easily provable. I’m sure it will be waiverable, but could add another year or so and legal fees to the process. Two years apart, with new baby, is a lot for a couple who apparently never intended a long distance relationship.

They are stupidly wasting their time. The chances of his getting another B1/B2 are slim......
-
SJordanS reacted to USS_Voyager in Asking for a Relatives - Withdrew Application at Airport
I'm not. People lie through their teeth all the time. It happens every day, at every corner of every US Embassy and Consulate across the world. People lie like crazy to get a visa. That's why I have a lot of respect for the COs, the front line officers, who are actually conducting interviews everyday, gets lied to their face and they KNOW it, and still act with courtesy and respect. I probably will not last very long as a CO interviewing people for a visa. By about the second or third applicant, I probably will start slapping people in their faces.

I wish your cousin lots of luck. Long distance relationships are hard enough without throwing becoming (effectively) a single parent of a new baby into the mix. It’s going to be a really tough year or so for her, I’d guess.
