Hello everyone!

It's been a very long time since I've posted here and quite a bit of stuff has happened (some good, others not so much 😅) but I wanted to give you all a status update

Biggest thing is that after having had my AOS interview almost 2 months ago, the status of my case finally switched on the 24th to "We ordered your new card" and yesterday it went to "Case was approved" I cannot tell you how much of a relief this was as my work permit had expired (dreadful situation) and I really thought I was in it for the long haul when it came to the waiting game, thinking I would be waiting a whole 120 days before anything happened.

I did call up my congressman's office for help at the beginning of the month (they sent a congressional inquiry about a week later) as well as sent an e-request via the USCIS website and to this day my best bet is that the e-request got them going since it said I would hear an update on the 24th and I sure did haha 🤣

Don't lose hope folks! This has been such a long and arduous journey and with COVID messing everything up I really hope this is the worst that things will ever come to be...

It should take about a month to get NOA.

IO has 120 days to give a decision, but I've seen people waiting for more than 1 year.

Hi I have no advice but I hope you get approved soon. My office was in Salt Lake City too and I never had any problems or unnecessary delays. All my cases that have gone through Salt Lake City were swift. That was pre-covid though.

It's free if full I-485 fee was paid. For proof, send-in a photocopy of the I-485 receipt notice.

Had the interview today at Columbus office and it took about 30mins from the time we checked in. We were both taken to the same room, went through the I-485 form to confirm our information then the yes/no questions. After that, we were asked some questions about our life together, mostly the usual ones like how & when we met. The most random question we got was what we had for dinner. For additional docs, we only gave our joint bank statement and health insurance. At the end, the IO said that she has all she needs and our case will be reviewed so now we just have to wait for the result.

Today I received my EAD card !
After some running around and talking with the nice post office people, I was able to pick it up before they were on route to ship it to my old address and so... here's the entire timeline:

Feb 6: "New card being produced"
Feb 7: "Your case has been approved"
Feb 11: "Your card was mailed"
Feb 12: "Your card was picked up by USPS"
Feb 15: CARD IN HAND
9 days total
SSN still yet to be found 👀

This is taking for f'ing everrrrrrrr. Like what in the hell is someone supposed to do for a year- unable to work, drive, visit home......nothing. Incredible. We have spent too much money on this mierda for it to be like this.

Small update, today the status for my EAD switched to "card was picked up by USPS"
And for those wondering, the tracking number comes within the status update that you can check through: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do (with your case number of course)
I just like keeping you guys updated since I know that many of you stalk and freak out this type of thing just as much as me and you want to know as much as possible of this confusing process haha.

Thank you! I called and turns out that they did actually answer and the guy was very kind, he said he would write a note so that they know not to deliver the package and I can go pick it up !
Now onto wondering about my SSN...

10/18 - NOA1 (mail 10/23)
01/02 - Biometrics
02/05 - EAD Card
02/07 - Social Security Card

Looking at it now, I know I am very lucky. It just feels like forever when you're waiting..

After a week exactly, and I received the NOA2s for both i-765 and I-131 along with the EAD/AP combo card. I also received the SSN card at the same time.

Card is being produced Monday, EAD card arrived on Saturday that same week. Still waiting for SSN a week later.

Hello

for us it was about a week. There were several online status updates past the “card is produced” stage. One of the updates, about a day after the “card was mailed”, had a USPS tracking number. It was delivered via priority mail so it was relatively fast (by USCIS standards).
