Applied for naturalization on Tuesday. Let's see if that will shake something loose.

That's awesome!! The law that we don't need a Beibehaltungsgenehmingung (lol) is going to pass in June, right? I was thinking about applying for naturalization too, seems unlikely that it would collide with the end of June date.. I just thought I wait a couple weeks longer but now I'm excited. I'm tired of traveling with all these extension letters and having to explain to people why my GC is expired.

Wish I could file the N400, too. Germany was supposed to have the law about dual citizenship changed by now, but now they're looking at early summer next year. Nothing to do but wait 🤷‍♀️

Heyyyyyy girl - so happy to see you on here!! Yep, same thing, won't be able to do the N400, so I'm just over here waiting, traveling around with extension letters. Our day will come eventually :D

Yeah congratulations 🥳🥳🥳 and that's why I wouldn't be mad to do my interview alone while Cody is deployed. He loves to talk and tell stories 😂😂😂

Hahaha i was thinking about you guys!! The second he said that I was like omg WHO does that and then I thought oh hey, Cody probably would (from what I’ve heard) 😂😂😂

It’s all good though, minor hick up, I was actually pretty entertained to see that unfold hahaha

So happy for you!!! Congratulations on your approval!  How long was your interview? Our interview is finally scheduled as well (honolulu) to November 13, 2020!

Oohhh congrats, that’s awesome!! Happy for you guys 😊🙏 Our’s was about 30 minutes I think- we got there at 7.45, checked in at 8, met the officer at 8.15, interview started 8.20 and we were back in the car at 9. Pretty quick I’d say!

Yes the letter did say they wanted it but at my interview a couple weeks ago I didn't even get asked to show our marriage certificate or half the documents on the list they tell you to bring along lol.

I bought like 3 certified copies at the time because of situations like this when you don’t wanna give originals etc.  So if I was asked, that’s what I was going to show & would have been willing to give if they did want to keep it. I doubt they would though honestly! 🙂

That sounds good 😊 Thank you!

  6. Question for those of you who had the interview already: did your interview letter request a certified copy of the marriage certificate? If so, did they really want to see that and keep it? With everything in lockdown there’s a 6-8 week wait for certified copies from the department of health over here so there’s no way I can get that before the interview. I mean worst case scenario I bring the original and they keep it, right?? Haha interesting times.. 😄 Any insight is greatly appreciated 😊

I was wondering why you got scheduled first but then i checked your timeline and you applied December. Probably explains why. Lol We applied end of January so hopefully our filing month is next! Please do update!! 😀

Haha yep, December 30th or 31st I believe. I had a goal to send our AOS package before 2020 - close call lol 😂 I’ll definitely let you know, my fingers are crossed for you to get scheduled next week 😊

  8. 168 days since ready to be scheduled (after RFE)  - haven’t been on here in a while, how is everyone doing? We’re in another lockdown in Honolulu and literally all our plans went out the window haha this year has been so crazy, right?? I hope we all get some good news soon 😊 I’m so glad I can surf every day, that’s probably what keeps me sane 😄  Sending lots of good vibes over to whoever needs them today 🧡

Hi everyone. I hope you are having a great Friday!

I had quite the surprise today. I walked to the mailbox and found a letter for my rescheduled (cancelled in March for mid April due to corona) greencard interview.

It is on September 10th (weirdly my K1 visa interview was also on this exact date in 2019!) Neither the old or new websites have been updated to say anything. I’m still stuck in the ‘interview cancelled and notice ordered’ stage that I was in since March.

So this has blown me away honestly!

Just thought I would share with you guys to inject some hope. It’s been so crappy hearing radio silence since March but maybe things are looking up finally guys.

    Hang on in there. 🌻🤞🏽

    🙂

Aah congrats!!! Thats great news :) Good luck with the interview and let us know how it went!!

Oh okay! Mine went from “new card being produced” to “case is approved” two days ago and no movement till now. I’ll just try not to worry (but is that ever possible in immigration?)

Oh yea sorry mine did that one too! So it was new card produced, then approved, then the whole usps thing. Haha I know it’s hard not to worry 😄 You’ll have your card in hand soon 😊

Can’t imagine what it could be about. I’ve literally sent them everything. Frustrated.

Ugh I’m so sorry that’s super frustrating.. I’m sure it wasn’t an error on your side, sometimes stuff gets lost. I know that doesn’t really help you, but I’m sure it’s a quick and easy fix and since you already have an expedite approval the EAD is probably gonna get approved as soon as they receive your RFE response 🧡🙏
