  1. Hi All! happy & healthy New Year :)

A few questions to the experts in this forum @TBoneTX @sandranj

    1. Do I submit my naturalization to Vermont Center?

    2. If my VAWA green card got approved Feb. 2020 - when can I apply for naturalization? I know we are allowed to do so in 3 years but remember some prior threads that we can submit 3 months before the 3 years?

    Thanks all!

  2. Dear all,

happy new year!! 🎆 I wish this year will being lots of love and success for you and your dear ones.

my VAWA was approved Feb. 2020. I was married to a USC and I know I’m supposed to apply for citizenship  after 3 years of being an LPR but I remember in this forum some experts said you can apply up to 6 months earlier? Or is it 3 months earlier?

@sandranj I am not sure if you still monitor the threads. Please advise 🙏

thank you all for reading & responses

    blessings.

@Gogetter @Maxlax @Kly @Sky4limit @Sk1992 @TexasVAWAThe previous thread is closed now..but thank you so much. I feel so humbled. All these cheers and to see people genuinely happy for you..made me so emotional! Because you have celebrated with me, celebration will not cease from you AMEN!🙏🙏🙏 God will work overtime to bring you your good news!❤😍😘🙌 @Braveheart123 yeah I was asked if I divorced my abuser and I said no. It's not a problem if you're not divorced yet. Our prayers should be to be faced with good officers...some of them there are veterans in frustrating people who have been through so much. God gave me the sweetest officer..he was eager to grant me my Greencard!🇺🇸🙏🙏😊😊❤❤❤ even advising me to file for my parents.😭😭 awesome God!

Wow I just read the last pages of the las thread and see your amazing news. CONGRATS!! This makes me so happy we all got approved. Best of luck in your new endeavors  🎉🎉

Officer: How is your week going?

Me: I guess its going well and yours?

Officer: Can't complain. Did you do anything fun over the weekend?

Me: Not at all. I was indoors for the most part. Same ol.

Officer: Me too, I had laundry and cleaning to do. DO you have your medicals

Me : Yes I do ( hands it over) . I also have a copy of my i864W

Officer: Thank God. You are the first person with medicals today and I  have a copy of the i864w here(shes showed me in my file). Let me swear you in, pls stand...

    after the swearing in

Officer: can I have your ID Pls....

I gave her my ID.   after a while

Officer: Do you have your passport?

    Me: No , I don't.

Officer: That's okay, I can pull up your details later. She returned my ID

The officer then went on to ask for my full names,  my parent's names, my current address, my address in my home country and then the i485 "NO" questions.

Officer: do you have anything to add?

Me: I'd love to change my last name if thats okay

Officer: Ofcourse,! Have you ever used the name before?

    Me: No

    Officer: Okay, Whats the name?

I said my name and she did some writing.

    Officer: Any more question?

    Me None for now.

Officer: That"s it. I will review your file and you will get an update withing 24 hours.

    Me: sounds good.

We stood up and walked out.

Officer: I can tell you like it there.  Have a good week.

    Me : You too

Thank you @sandranj . I couldn't have known how to write my affidavit without your input. Not only that, you were always there to advise . Thanks @nap_o  , @Stillwinning!!!😊    for the well wishes.

Hi Guys... just want to share my experience... I had an Infopass appointment today... something weir...

almost 2 months ago, I got an update on my pending I485... a RFE... never got it... after submitting 2 e-request... contacting my congressperson... finally I got the infopass... my file supposed to be in my local office, San Francisco, so I went there today and the IO told me... oh your file is not here... it is in San Jose (another office) so IO was very kind and tried to help me, made me wait and after a while she called me back and said... I contacted San Jose office... apparently USCIS wanted to request some evidence, because your file is old and after that they decided to do not ask for that evidence... but I said... I got that update anyway!!! IO said... again... I contacted them and they will sent you a notice, go and update your medicals, also she was trying to tell me that they will send me the notice for interview and she said many times... go and renew your medicals...

Hope, I can get this done soon, tomorrow I will visit the same doctor office, where I've done my medicals almost 4 years ago... at least they have my records and let's see.... finger crossed!!!

I also went for an infopass (Jan 21st) and a week later (Jan 27) I received my interview notice for Feb 10th.

it barely gave me time to find a civil surgeon who gave results  so fast (less than a week)

It is up to you if you want to update your medicals. Good luck!!

Can i request for my I485 case update on USCIS website by service request?

It will allow you to make the request but then you will receive a response in the mail that they cannot give out info.

My advice: go to info pass if your file is at your local office, otherwise inquire through your congressman. I think this is how I got my interview. I knew my file was at my local office and they were missing an AR11 form. So I just went in and handed it to the officer. I told him I had submitted this form many times and they wouldn't update. A week later I got my interview notice.

Why do they ask for that. And I see ur in Miami. My office is in Broward. Congratulations to u I just got my approval notification I got my ead in December. So I’m giving it 6 mths hopefully to get the greencard.

I don't know, it was in my interview notice: "All expired passports"

My interview was in West Palm Beach and it took about 6 months for them to schedule my interview. West Palm Beach has a lesser case load compared to Miami Dade and Browars county - I'd recommend going for an inforpass once you reach 5 months.

    Good luck 😃

My officer was very serious. She did not ask about VAWA.

She asked all the addresses I’ve lived (all the ones listed on my I-485) and most recent one then asked about both my parents names after that she asked if I’ve ever been arrested, and all the yes/no questions in the I-485.

She also asked my marital status.

At the end she gave me a piece of paper saying my case needed further review; she said if she needed extra information they would notify me by mail otherwise she would try to make a decision the same – which she did, about 3 hours after my interview my case changed to: “New Card Being Produced”

Today my case was updated saying they approved my case & “New card was mailed”

    • Interview Notice: Jan 27 2020:

    Hi everyone,

Do they ask for all the passports we owned in our life? Or just the one we used since we came to U.S.?

My first passport that I used is in my home  country (the one I used before U.S.) so if they wanna see that too I need to get that one.

I don’t have an interview date yet. I got my c31 card in January but no approval letter yet. I don’t exactly know what they ask at the interview but I’m trying to gather info here reading your experiences. I’m just trying to prepare myself for my interview day, whenever that will be...

don't worry they won’t ask for all of them just the most recent one, or the one with your visa if it applies.

Congratulations 👍👍 please tell me how long did you wait from receiving C31 to interview.? What did you bring to the interview.?

I received my work permit on Aug 12 2019 under c14 category.

Then i went to my interview on Feb 10th. Got approved after 3 hours.

I brought my updated medical, drivers license, passports with visa, birth certificate and form i864w.
Also certified arrest record and court disposition (I’ve been arrested before)

Additionally I brought my I-9, pay stubs and all the documents I had submitted before

Hello everyone , I submitted vawa application on Aug2018 , since then I only received a Rfe regarding my attorney on file to submit a G-28 , no Prima facie or another RFE , after I submitted a FOIA request , it showed that the reason of not sending me prima facie was the officer was not sure of my good moral character , since then I submitted 3 good moral character support letters , and a police clearance , I want also to mention that I was arrested twice for domestic violence because of my abuser spouse , but on both instances state attorney declined to file any charges against me , since the accusations were bogus , and I didn't even had to go to court , my question is can I get approved without receiving prima facie first ?

    I believe you can.

I was also arrested on a DV demeanor for fight with my ex and my case was dismissed.

I got approved for a green card already on monday.  Please contact your congressman to inquire about the prima facies and make sure they received your documents - congressman is a great help.

Once you are scheduled for an interview make sure you bring a certified copy of the court disposition and arrest record because the officer will ask for it.

    Good luck 🙏

  14. My case was under:

"card is being produced" 3 hours after interview to this:

I read someone asking about tax documents - I did not bring any since we use the form I-864w and officers aren't supposed to ask about your filing status or tax documents. But if you have them and makes you feel safer you can bring them
