Guys and Girls you have to read some of the posts that were posted prior to you coming online as there have been changes. So many times I have answered the question and it seems no one wants to do some of the "heavy" liftings and read the thread. Instead, you just go ahead and ask your question and it's the same question from someone else that was either just asked or asked during the day. The answer is right there.

I asked the border guard this question on Thursday when I crossed over peace bridge. He said I can bring all my personal belongings. I specifically asked because it's all tools and equipment but he said all is good.

In an ideal world and for many families, including my own, Tilia is right but it certainly isn't the case for all. And Immigrations has to take everything with a bit of salt because of those who have cheated the system before us.

Unfortunately this is far from a ideal world that we live in.  There are so many broken people that make our world even more messed up for the next generation. Some people treat their kids more like pets or accessories than they do as little-mini people. Others have kids for tax benefits and literally pass their kids around to cousins' and aunt/uncles' houses throughout the year (my friend's cousin has been a US missionary for 20 years and works with a certain people-group that does exactly this). And as others above have mentioned, kids are born into situations where they aren't necessarily wanted (like rape) or they are a mere means to an end (expedite processes, anchor babies).

It sucks that the kids have to pay for all that in the end :-/

So how did she have a driver's license? I know California has recently started granting driver licenses to illegals but in 2011 was Florida doing that too? Or do we add "driving without a license" to her list of crimes? Any bets she was working too.

This gets me so angry on many levels. She has been living here illegally for 18 years. If she'd been shoplifting from Walmart repeatedly over the last 18 years and finally got caught and was sent to prison, would anyone be blaming Trump or screaming "injustice" then? My husband broke the law in the 1990s and went to prison. He was living with his then-girlfriend at the time and her child from a previous relationship. He had been with the mother since the child was 6 months old. He was 8 when my husband was arrested and called him "daddy" - he had never known his birth father. My husband wasn't spared prison because he had a child at home. The family was broken up and my husband was packed off to prison (and rightfully so) and because he wasn't on the child's birth certificate the child was not allowed to visit him. Do you think any journalists were taking up that child's story how he was torn away from the only father he knew through no fault of the child's? The mother couldn't cope and in the end the child was placed in foster care and subsequently adopted. Because my husband was not married to the mother and not the child's father he was not allowed to know of his whereabouts. My husband still cries about this to this very day. And he's still looking for him because he wants to tell him he's sorry for what happened and never stopped loving him.

Adults, including parents, who make poor choices in life should expect to have their children taken from them. It happens all the time.

And I'm done with the military thinking they are above the law. Many jobs involve taking huge risks for the benefit of the rest of us - mining, fishing, pilots, flaggers, construction, trucking, firefighting, police, coastguard, ....

Tinman71 reacted to Ben&Zian in Injustices and Waking up Dissapointed and Saddened
It has nothing to do with "humanity" and "injustices". Morocco like several other countries in that region are ripe with visa fraud. Using marriage and US citizens to get to the US and dump them then.

If something is outside of a cultural norm, as in, if a 23 year old Moroccan man would never ever ever date a previously divorced woman with a kid(s) who is 12-20 years older than he is and of a different religion, there in Morocco, why would he somewhere else?

It doesn't make any sense. Obviously there are the cases where it does work and is a successful relationship in the long term; but it is the job of the CO's at the embassy to 'weed' out the false ones.

If it seems unfair, that could be said about people who want a tourist visa to the US from many countries but can't get it. It's because of a bad history and track record of visa fraud and abuse.

You can as mentioned write a letter of complaint to a respresentative and all; but when it comes to the embassy they have certain diplomatic status and immunities where they are like their own powers and can't be influenced easily.

Again this has nothing to do with "human rights". Has to do with the embassy and the CO's doing their jobs despite how "mean and cruel" you may think it is. It isn't a right to come to the US, it's a privilege and again with such bad track records from these countries, that's why these types of things are in place. Trust me, Philippines is no easier when it comes to tourist visas, it has a high denial rate. Seem unfair? Sure, but I understand it definately as they don't have the best history when it comes to people not overstaying and such.

While it is good to vent; just search here on VJ about some other cases from Morocco and others in that region and you will read some of the most absurd stories ever about fraudulent relationships/marriages. Some of them are very hard to read because it seems like fiction but they apparently are true.

I think you are missing the point. Yes people are able to take children from the US to Canada permanently. They have court orders that state they can do such. You do not have a court order. You have not even started divorce proceedings. Have you and your spouse discussed this already? Did he say he was okay with you going back to Canada with his child? If you are just assuming you will be allowed to take the child to Canada because you are the primary caregiver you are sorely mistaken. If the dad supports it- it will be easy. If he doesn't then its very unlikely you will be taking the child to Canada.

you are right, the petitioner is the sponsor and the person with the money is the co-sponsor.
    yes, two I-134 forms
you only need to provide from income earned as an adult. All USC are required to file a return for income earned anywhere in the world. There are these treaties with certain countries, but that i am not familiar with. Maybe the UK is one of those. You will need to find out if filing for US returns is not required because you don't have income in the US.

All USCs living overseas must file a federal tax return each year, unless they earn below $4050 for that year. It's unlikely that you will have to pay any tax, but you must still file if you are above $4050 in any given year. The U.K. has a tax treaty with the USA to prevent being double-taxed but the obligation to file remains.

Well first it is your responsibility to update them on your address if you move so they can properly mail you things.

Secondly, the RFE is fairly common. While yes, you may have answered it on the petition, if USCIS is unsure they can ask for proof. Most commonly it is if people meet on an unfamiliar dating site/app. USCIS will generally ask you to clarify that it indeed is not a broker and you do that by simply sending in a copy of the site's/app's terms of services.
