No one knows what's in there, its sealed (or maybe some people took a peek and got it resealed, I'm not one of those people, so I can't answer that question)

You might get an RFE since you can't provide the DS-3025, no matter if USCIS has a copy already or not. If you can't prove you had your medical completed (and you can proof that if the DS-3025 is marked as complete), they have the right to RFE you at the interview.

They also might have a copy of it and don't give you a hard time. But if you want to avoid the RFE, just contact the doctor and get a copy. Again, he should have got it in his package like everyone else (unless Algeria doesn't do it, but I highly doubt they would not provide the copy)

He will contact the doctor for a copy, but we already sent the AOS packet........we'll see if we get an RFE at any point.

    thanks

He should have gotten a copy of the DS-3025 in his envelope. Double check the cover where the CD came in. My DS-3025 was folded into the cover, at first I thought I didn't get it either. If it's not in there, contact the doctor that did the medical in his home country to get the copy.

We checked everything, he didn't get a copy of it so he will have to contact the doctor.

But my question is  - is it also in the sealed yellow envelope that he handed to the officer at POE that then gets sent to USCIS?  If it is, then why would  we get an RFE for it in our AOS application?

The DS-3025 should've been in the package with his passport and visa. That is the proof that you completed the medical (or not, in which case he might have to get a new medical for AOS interview)

When you're talking about papers from the doctor for the injections and the immunization record, I assume you're talking about documents he got from a local doctor, not the doctor who did the medical?

Double check the envelope he got where his passport with visa was in. If it's not in there, contact the doctor that did the medical in his home country to get a copy of the DS-3025.

He said the same doctor gave him the physical and the injections.  He said there wasn't any paperwork/DS3025 with his passport and visa or with the chest xray and CD.

If the DS3025 is included in the sealed yellow envelope  handed over to the officer at POE, then I don't see why we would get an RFE for it?

  4. Hi,

I wasn't able to find an answer to my specific situation, so I'm asking here....

We just sent our AOS application package this week.

Regarding the DS-3025.......my husband had his medical last December 2018 and brought his yellow immunization record and 2 papers from the doctor for the injections.  My husband wasn't given a DS-3025 but he did receive all injections.  We included copies of his immunization record and 2 papers with injection info and payment, inside the AOS application package.

He said the doctor only gave him a yellow envelope with his chest x-ray and CD, but there wasn't a DS-3025 or any paperwork inside.  The other yellow envelope was for POE which my husband handed over at POE in San Francisco.

Is the DS-3025 inside  the yellow envelope that he handed over to the officer at POE which is then sent to USCIS?

I followed the guide here on VJ but it doesn't say anything about sending a DS-3025.

    Thank you...

Agreed the CBP officer kept my husband's envelope didn't ask him anything. Stamped his passport and said welcome to America. He didn't get the 90 days speech some other members say they received. And we buy him new clothes here. I will say though name brand clothes in Algiers cost the same here when I did a price comparison. However the French designer clothing was cheaper there in Algiers.

I just remembered he told me that when they took him to the side for the secondary inspection, he asked them if there was a problem, they told him they just are verifying his visa and info.  He then asked the officer if he could go smoke somewhere, because he just got off of a 12 hour flight, and the officer laughed a little and said "you can smoke when you get married" and let him have his passport and be on his way finally....Rahim was so relieved   😄

  6. Just an update - my fiance arrived at SFO safely 😊😊  He wasn't asked about having just a 1 way ticket at all, even in Frankfurt, or about only having carry-on luggage.  He did have SSSS on his boarding pass into SFO, so he had extra screening off to the side, but nothing unusual and was just told by the officer to get married within 90 days.

  7. Just an update, my fiance arrived safely at SFO 😊😊   He bought the one way ticket with Lufthansa and wasn't questioned at all about that either in Algiers or Frankfurt.   He arrived at SFO and spent about 1.5 hours in customs......I was starting to get concerned while I was waiting for him.  Turns out he had SSSS on his boarding pass into SFO, so he had extra screening, but it wasn't anything unusual, they just opened his bags and he wasn't asked any specific questions, the officer just told him to make sure to get married in 90 days.  In all, he said everything went smooth.

  8. Hi, my fiance is packing his stuff to get ready to travel here on his K1 visa.  I have a question about baggage - he doesn't really have any household items he wants to bring, just all of his clothes and personal items.

In order to avoid having to check luggage and spend time waiting for it at POE,  if he can fit all of his stuff into 1 carry on bag and 1 backpack (to keep his yellow packet and some other personal items) , it that OK, or will it seem strange that he doesn't have checked luggage to claim?

It is a perfectly reasonable answer to say to the OP. Some people have in the past came here to this country that accepted them with open arms only for them to turn around and try to change it. Sorry if you do not like it so much then feel free to go home.

I have no issue with people airing grievances with local or state elections because those affect more people than almost anything done federally does. The 1st amendment is here in the USA for a reason and that is to entitle free speech to everyone and anyone wither you like it or not. But staying woke is a crock of bull if I have ever heard of it. You are just being fed a line of bs by our Leftist overlords.

Your statement doesn't even make any sense.

The whole point of this county is that it's a democracy and we don't have to like certain things the way they are, we have the freedom to express our opinions and VOTE to make changes.  This country is always changing due to people exercising their right to vote and changes get made, good or bad.

So according to you, all US citizens, even YOU (if you are), shouldn't vote for anything to change, because you like everything the way it is year after year.  If YOU vote to change something, that means you don't like something so much, and according to your statement, you should feel free to go home (if you're not the USC), or live in another country ,(if you are the USC).

And your statement "if you do not like it so much then feel free to go home" is very intolerant and sounds typical of someone who would say something like "You are just being fed a line of bs by our Leftist overlords."   America IS an immigrant's new home.

Yes, I'm a (2nd generation) born USC and a 10 year veteran of the United States Air Force with many immigrants in my family.

Also, another airline to try might be Lufthansa.

Actually, he went back to the airport today and did go to Lufthansa and they sold him the one way ticket, and the agent said they are very well aware of the K1 visa and not needing a 2 way ticket and there wouldn't be a problem boarding.

Another VJ member told me their fiance flew from Algiers on Lufthansa on a 1 way ticket with no problem.  It seems Lufthansa is better informed.....

Some airlines indeed don't know much about the visa and it's use. We used Emirates for his one way trip to the US, no issues.

As mentioned, maybe book the round trip but bump the return out say 6 months or something. Always can cancel it or possibly reschedule it again depending on the airline's policies.

Thanks, I'll look into Emirates for flights to SFO

Hi. So when I had that issue. I purchased the one way. The day of the flight I put based a return flight and when I knew he was here I called the airline and cancelled the ticket and got my money back.

Hi, do you mean you purchased ta separate 2nd ticket as a return flight the day of the flight to America and you had both tickets in your hand at the time of boarding?  Then you cancelled the return ticket in 24 hours to get your money back?

  13. 3 hours ago, adil-rafa said:

the issue could be that you need to change planes (actual airlines ) in France or another country/because  you can not fly direct from Algeria to the USA

when you change airlines as the ones you want do not have flights all the way to the USA available,  you need a transit visa for the country where the next leg of your trip will happen

like i said it happens as tickets are seperate and the second leg means changing airlines

    they really do their job

Hi, this ticket only has 1 stop in Istanbul and is using Turkish airlines all the way, no changing airlines.

I'm not sure why Turkish airlines and Air France are telling him this.   He will not be leaving the airport and he doesn't need a visa for either France or Turkey.

  14. Hi,

I know this topic has been covered a lot, but I can't find a response to this specific question.

My fiance has his K1 visa now and he went to the airport to buy his ticket, but both Turkish Airlines and Air France are refusing to sell him a one way ticket because he's on a visa.  He explained to them very well that he is not a TOURIST, he is an intending immigrant and will marry within 90 days and will stay in America.  Both airlines still refuse.  A round trip ticket from Algeria to SFO is $300 more and we don't want to waste that money if we don't have to.

I know I can just buy the ticket myself from here online so he will physically have a ticket in his hand, but my question is, when he goes to board the flight, and connecting flight, what can he say or do if they refuse him to board the flights?

Does anyone out of Algiers have any experience with this?  I posted this here in case others have input.

    Thanks

Thanks to everyone for helping me stay calm. Our CEAC status today was changed to "issued," so now we're just hoping to get the actual passport back in the next few days.

Congratulations!  Just a note that the day our status changed to Issued, my fiance went to Aramex just to see if his passport was there by chance, even though ustraveldocs.com didn't show that visa was ready for pick up and Aramex didn't contact him, and it was there!

The person at Aramex didn't even show it was there yet in thier system, but for some reason his package and passport was there the same day status changed to Issued, so if you fiance can just go to Aramex and ask them to check, his passport may just already be there.  Don't wait to be contacted by Aramex.....

The consular officer is the one who said two weeks though. I wish they just wouldn't say a time frame so then people wouldn't get nervous when the time they tell you has passed.

Hopefully your fiance will get it this week.  Our status changed to Non Immigrant AP on Wednesday and we got an email from the embassy on Wed also saying he's approved, so we're  hoping he can pick up his passport this week, too.

I just want to let everyone know that my fiancé was approved in Casablanca on Friday for the K1. There are so many people online who say it is impossible and it won't happen, so I just wanted to spread the positive news. You can read more about our journey here: http://coolcathleen.com

Congrats! you guys look so cute together   :)   And I know what you mean about people online saying it's impossible for a K1 in MENA ..

  18. For anyone going through Algiers on a K1, just wanted to say my fiance was approved and the visa is being printed now.

The officer was nice and professional.  We did have a couple of red flags, but my fiance answered all the officer's questions very well and we sent a lot of evidence in the beginning and at the interview.  One of the extra questions the officer asked is how many bedrooms I have in my home, and my fiance knows, of course.

The officer kept his passport but  he did get a 221g to send extra proof how we met on Facebook, like the friend request, so if you met on Facebook, please remember to send that with your initial petition or bring it to the interview!

He sent the proof to the embassy the next day and it took 15 days in AP for them to approve his visa and the CEAC website change from Immigrant to Non-Immigrant, so not too bad.

In all, this embassy and staff are very good and professional, they even answered our emails in 1-2 days.   Just make sure you have everything they need, including proof exactly how you met each other.
