Instead of applying for CoC for CCA citizens both a passport book AND card should be obtained. Pros of Passport Card:
Convenient wallet size It is a List A I-9 document: https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/acceptable-documents/list-documents/form-i-9-acceptable-documents Accepted as proof of citizenship Does not have to be sent in when the passport book is renewed* *It is recommended to renew the passport book well before it expires: https://www.tripsavvy.com/when-should-i-renew-my-passport-2972796

geowrian is right. The requirement for married-based naturalization is being married and having LPR in the last 3 years at the time of application. It DOES NOT matter how they obtained their LPR status in the first place

Yes, you're actually eligible to apply within 90 days before your 3rd anniversary. Beware of months with 31 days tho since you have to count them if you choose to do so during that time frame.

Finally, my oath ceremony has been scheduled. I am still waiting for a specific date and location now.
I applied to change my legal name, thus it took a longer time than other people who do not change their name.

They are grateful to have a chance to become a U.S. citizen so it's OK. I took off work to go to the ceremony with my mom, and I will be taking off again next week for my dad. I cannot wait for it!

Oh wow, that must've been at least a little disappointing that they couldn't celebrate becoming citizens together! Thank you though, that makes me a bit relieved to know that it's a normal situation. I just have to keep waiting like I have been for the past few months lol

Filing copies of your tax returns with your n-400 application is actually NOT a requirement. It's only needed during the interview according to the n-400 instructions.

wow!! you learn something new everyday, i didn't know that. I naturally assumed the 3 year qualifier applies if you got your GC via marriage to the said spouse. Either way i am very curious to know why the case was denied...so we can also learn from it. So please keep us updated and good luck on your case. Since you're planning on refilling under the 5 year rule, things should move much more easily than this.

Best of luck to you and God bless.

OP is right, he doesn't have to have received GC through marriage, as long as he does have a GC and been married to a USC for the last 3 years and during those 3 years spouse was a USC too, he qualifies to apply under the 3-year rule.

Yea it makes sense. And honestly if you think about it logically, I would argue that you deserve to apply for citizenship 3 years after marriage as much as, if not more than, someone who obtained GC through marriage. If not, it would be like you're being punished for already having a green card before marrying a USC citizen.

I don't think a federal agency can collectively prolong background checks on citizens of Muslim countries because that would be discriminatory, and like @inqztve said, there's not much they can do about it. I wonder tho, and this is not based on any knowledge or evidence, if it would take longer for background checks on citizens from countries that have failed states or civil wars like countries in the Middle East for example, since it is more difficult to collect information on their whereabouts in the past and things of that sort?

My case status never showed names. Just very generic information. When you consider that the "unsecure" e-mail/text contains the receipt number, it stands to reason that if someone intercepted it they could just put the receipt number in USCIS and get the personal information. So it makes sense that they keep it all generic and without identifying details, whether in e-mail or online.

The case status (at least the one here, I've never used the one for online applicants), does not include any personal information. It only lists the case number and the status update.

Answering my own question. The oath ceremony notice (letter) gets uploaded onto the USCIS website just like all the other documents. My wife's oath ceremony is scheduled for May 18. Her interview was on April 10 so it took approximately 2 weeks to get the letter
