Bunch of brick walls in here. Arguing points that aren't being made? Okay. Maybe results may vary because of background checks for other people and perhaps in our case they really did mess up and delay our case for an invalid reason and uh last I checked my congressman wouldn't represent me in court but my lawyer would hence the results with a lawyer vs a federal representative.

After 7 whole months of AP with no updates whatsoever, our case finally changed to issued today.
Countless useless inquires made by senators and a congressman did nothing. In May we hired a very competent lawyer who obviously did something right as suddenly we were asked to submit a new reaffirmation letter and for my fiance to redo his medical which had expired in April. So yes, lawyers do in fact work.
Only 7 business days later our status changed to issued. Never once did we flop between ready, received, AP etc etc.

I'm sorry nobody has given you real correct information. This is true discrimination of a protected class (citizenship and/or national origin) especially as this should not even be up for discussion. You have a valid work authorization form which can easily be verified with eVerify. Your status is irrelevant and this has nothing to do with "at will" employment. I worked in HR, in California for many years. You should file a complaint with the appropriate agencies for discrimination and let them handle. It's not worth your time to get the decision reversed because they will ultimately find any other reason to let you go (this is where at will comes into play).

This is wrong. EAD=work authorization=permit. And there is no risk for the company in hiring the OP.

Sorry theres a lot of things not free in this country. An EAD is an employment authorization document. He can work as long as it is valid. It is not a risk as the company does not have to sponsor him.

It can be days, it can be months, or in some situations years. It all depends on your luck and local field office. As Ayrton said the letter will come when the status will change to interview was scheduled.

That's actually when the wait begins. You can only expect a letter when the status changes to Interview Scheduled.

Those set backs really suck don't they? We are March 2018 K1 filers and we were one of the first to get our NOA2 in September 2018 but post interview we were placed into AP for 7 months and had to do two medicals and hire a lawyer to get answers. Of course London had increased their medical fee by the time the second one came around too. But now that we are together and married life is good and we can breathe easier.

If you haven't been interviewed for AOS yet (not clear), then you can fill out a new I864 and provide those supporting financial documents at your AOS interview.
A new form is not really required but is a suggestion.
The new employment documents are not required either but are a stronger suggestion.

Look very close at my time line, not fast at all 299 days for K1 NOA2, 2 month setback after medical, 1 month setback after interview, so I've had to struggle through my whole visa journey so far. It is only now since the AOS that I have found some measure of normalcy. But I feel anyone's pain and stress dealing with this visa journey. Bottom line I understand your concerns as I have experienced some of the same. I try to be upbeat to other VJers and give them the bright side of things. I do tell my opinions sometimes not what  people would like to hear, but I say it in a way to NOT offend or at least I try too. Thank you for the congratulations, but I'm right here with you!!!!! BTW I was a May 2018 K1 filer. Most  ID SAY 80% of my group has gone before me and are now with GC. I'm still stumbling through, but I've never lost hope and neither should YOU or anyone here. I'm a September 2019 AOS filer, but I'm here with you too!!!!

Finally, I can update on this for anyone else's reference and peace of mind (hopefully you don't need it, though!)

We ended up hiring a lawyer to help us handle this glitch, especially since they ask for evidence, and I had no evidence of... nothing. Though we did write an affidavit describing the events and dates, and including that we received no notice and had been checking the website, got no letter/text/phone call/email/etc and had it notarized at the bank. That may have been all the evidence the attorney submitted for us on this.

We filed a Motion to Reconsider or Reopen in late December 2018. They received it pretty much right away and sent notice of that.

In May they reopened the case.

Today we got notice of an interview in a couple of weeks.

So, long story short, a lot of stress and our lives and any travel plans were a little bit derailed for about 10 months over some administrative error. We were actually just gearing up to apply for a renewal of his work permit, which is about to expire around the same time as the interview date.

If you're in a similar situation, there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Lawyers help for peace of mind. Strangely enough, I called customer service just 2 weeks ago to ask how our case was going. They said there was no movement at the time. But with our K-1 there were also delays that mysteriously were resolved right after a phone call, so there is something to say for polite but persistent calling.
