Don't worry - what happens is that they will approve you pending them receiving the medical report. And then once they receive it , they will just issue your visa!

Oh don't worry, I won't book any flights without my visa, I was just stressed that I might get turned away at the consulate for not having the completed medical report.
All in all, I'm happy I managed to get the October interview date rather than having to wait till the end of next month for an interview, I might now have a shot at being with my fiancee and her family for Thanksgiving, so I will be giving thanks for that. 😄

Oh no ! Everything is so stressful at the moment a health scare is the last thing you need! Hope it all works out mate 

If your docs left NVC last week, you might have a chance! But the anecdote above about another Aussie filer saying they got Nov too , makes me think they might have filled up the interview spots for Oct, but you never know! 
 
 

Case in transit, got my medical done yesterday and received the I-134 and supporting docs from my fiancee today.
Now I just need the Sydney Consulate to please give me an interview date this month or early next month and not make me wait till the end of November. 🙏🤞😬

I received an email from USCIS today saying that my case was approved. NOA1 March 6. Approval date September 10.
I checked both the new website and the old and so far its only the old website saying that my case was approved, the new

I don't know about any of this old date vs new date stuff, on both the old and new websites it says that my Noa1 date is Mar. 6.

I think that yeah sure, maybe the vetting has something to do with it. But I also think it's kind of a natural ebb and flow thing. When I filed 4 years ago (can't believe it's been that long already) it took us a year from start to finish. The people who filed about a year after us had smooth sailing with maybe 4-6 months. So it's just different depending on how many are filing and how backlogged or not they are. 

The backlog is the biggest issue, especially for the I-129F. The background checks at that point are primarily for the petitioner. While sometimes there is a holdup on security checks with the I-129F, on most cases I can't imagine this taking very long.
There's always a possibility of the processing taking less or more time. Things do tend to be taking longer than shorter in general, but there is an ebb and flow to the process over the years.
