Well, I'm not aware of any other reason why they would care about DUI on a tourist visa.

OP. Go to France, Hong Kong or Japan. They have Disneyland there too.

Please don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that the OP married for GC.
I'm just saying that from the eyes of the immigration officer it looks like a case of fraud.
I think getting a divorce and doing it fast would help the OP.

After reading the OP to me it looks like poster child of immigration fraud.
    Marriage with US citizen.
Citizen gets paid for the deed.
Citizen spends little time together with 'new' spouse.
Citizen goes with his life, doesn't work for what? 2 years?
How many people can afford not to work for few years? Let me quit Burger King as I've worked for them for 3 years, I have so much savings that now I don't have to do anything for very loooong time.

To me it is an example of the fraud case.

That is not true. They cannot demand one PNR. Someone has been telling you total BS.
Also, the airline system at the airport will show that your visa is ok for one way flight. It doesn't matter what the agent knows. The system will tell them that you are ok for one way.
You don't need round trip ticket period. If the airport agent won't allow you to check in, ask for a supervisor.

Why would they do that? I've attended my wife's every interview and not even once I've been asked to leave.
At my wife's N400 interview the officer asked both of us, then I was asked to leave room and 10 minutes later I was asked to go back to the room to finish the interview.

You've said that your furniture is second hand already. For $7k you should be able to furnish a house/apartment in US.
Why bother then if they give you outrageous quotes of $12k?
As for the immigration side of things, you should worry more about that then about your old table...

I also wouldn't recommend booking anything before the visa is issued. What if they need some document which was accidentally lost or forgotten?

We did. GC expired Sept 2022 and we've travelled with extension letter (ang expired GC).
No problems in Bangkok at the check in for our return flight and no problem at the airport in US on our arrival.

How did you manage to deposit a check (return)  in the account without your husband's name on it?
When I did that the check didn't clear for 2-3 weeks and finally I went to the bank to check what's going on. They've told me that they can't deposit that check as it is with my and my wife's name. Deposited it to the other bank where we had joint account and the check cleared next day.
I'm just thinking out loud. If your wife is in Mexico, and you don't have joint bank account, it may or may not cause problems for your returns.

My wife got the letter few weeks before she became citizen. There was a line stating that she needs to respond within 7 or 14 days. We went online and followed the instructions. Selected NO to the questions of being US citizen. Had to put explanation in the box below. We put "LPR, not US citizen yet".
After she became citizen we went online and registered her as a voter.
