I was just wondering how long it took everybody to receive notification of receipt of your package. We filled out the G form for text notification of receipt and we know that our package arrived based on the USPS tracking but it’s been almost 3 weeks and still haven’t heard anything. My husband’s green card expires next week so we just were curious.
I don't think they are sending texts or emails.
I never received a notification but I got my noa on Tuesday.
It's taking 6 weeks for them to cash your check, so hang in there.

Hi, I have a cousin she is trying to start the k1 visa process, she is from El Salvador but she went to Spain about 4 months ago and asked for asylum there, she is still waiting for an approval. I know she has a letter saying she has applied for it.
Her question is if she can have all the k1 process in Spain or she would have to go back to El salvador

Can anyone tell me do I need to get a new medical test ? I did my medical test on March,2018. Now it is over a year now.
Before I asked people here and Lizz told me I don’t need a new one. But couple days ago I saw someone needed to do a new medical test. I am confused.
Does anyone know ? Thanks
I think nobody can tell you what they really want, it depends to the officer, I had my medical test in January 2018 and my interview was this year on March, I wasn't required another medical test. Your medical test supposes to be good for one year and if you file within that year you shouldn't have any issues. I guess there are some officers just trying to make things harder. You just need to give them whatever they want.

When did you apply for her AOS? You should have applied for her work permit with the AOS form.
If you are already having a interview, then when she gets her green card she wont need EAD.

Providing proof of your pre wedding ceremony might be seen as too marry for a K1.
You will have to wait after mailing the birth certificate and see what happens.

should i not go for cr1 ??????and stop thinking about america
You sound a little bit too much interested more about your American dream than wanting to be with your fiance. Your fiance could move to your country if you really want to be together.

Finally😀 my status changed to "new card is being produced" 😁
Interview went great, the officer was so nice with us. I was kinda worried because she didn't approve us in the moment even when she seemed to be okay with everything, she gave us the paper saying our case was held for a review and she said that it could take 4 months to be approved.
But I guess at the end everything was good.
I wish luck to all of you that are still waiting. 😊

Biometrics and vaccines are something completely different, what did they actually ask in the RFE?

She would have to apply for AOS and EAD/AP as soon as you get married, she can't leave the country without AP or green card. The processing time for the combo card right now is around 4-6 months.

You don't suppose to mail Anything, you need to gather all those documents and take them to the interview.
I have never heard about mailing documents, it could be something from that embassy though.

Send some of that luck to us! lol. Our office (Philadelphia) has an estimate waiting time of 13-22 months, and most people that I've read experiences from recently have been waiting 1-1,5 years before their interview. Small chance it's gonna be quick anytime soon (September 2018 filer)
I think Chicago is the same, I thought I would have to wait more time, I have an app where you get notifications with similar cases. I got one before mine, seems like they are scheduling some interviews today. Im sending you our luck over there.
Now I'll start getting worried about the documents we need.

Thank you! Yeah, we were expecting about a year wait, so I hadn't even been checking the website for status and just got the letter from USCIS and was stunned. Good luck to you guys, I hope the wait isn't too long!
I think we got lucky talking about it haha I just got the status update, our interview is scheduled, just gotta wait for the letter to know when 😊

I'm jealous, I've been waiting since October on "interview ready to schedule" (same field office)
Good luck in your interview 😊👍

What letter?
I have a binder full of our documents that he will have, even if he won't need it. I'd rather he has it.. lol
I have all the receipts from AOS and his approved ead/ap receipts. Marriage certificate, employer letter that says he is expected to come back, doctor appointment letter that he has an appointment..
Haha I was like that too when they asked me. The first time going out from my country and then at IAH, they both asked for a letter. the girl in my country showed me one with a picture (idk if it's an old thing or what) but they were okay with only the combo card at the end.
They didn't ask for anything else, but I was prepared too, I took all my documents just in case.

Do you live in Houston? Omg, did you use IAH?? that's where my hubby will be coming back!! I really hope he doesn't get stuck in immigration in mexico.
Did your husband go with you?
Really calming to know of recent stories of AP, since it will be his first time using AP and i won't come with, we are very nervous/worried of the slightest errors..
Fingers crossed his flight is in 19 days..
No, we live in North Indiana but we took the connection there in IAH, my husband was with me but I went first, when they took me to the second security check the other guy told my husband they always do that and they always will till I have my green card.
It wasn't bad though, the guy asked me how I got the combo card and if my husband was US citizen. And then he let me go. I was worried about using the AP too but it was smooth. They did asked me for a letter, I said I didn't have one but I had the one I got from uscis and the guy said the combo card was enough.

@Diana & Justin story time?
How was the border crossing? Tips? Documents they asked for?
Thank you!!
HI, I just got home from the trip, I was sent to second security check, but the guy only asked me how did I get the combo card and if my husband was a US citizen, then he was checking stuff in the computer and told me "have a nice trip" . I landed in Houston. They put in my passport "AOS" purpose. It took maybe like 5 min.
It was a different story when I landed in my country though, they had me about 3 hours stuck in immigration, they thought I was being deported🙄, I could have saved a lot of time if they could have only asked the travel permit, but after waiting to be called to the interview, they saw my combo card and they let me go.
Feels nice to be back!!

Guyss!! I got a notification I was receiving something from uscis on my mail today and I was like "theres no way I'm getting my card so soon" so I went to check on the website to see if there was an update and I saw this.
Usps just dropped my card right now!! I wasn't really expecting anything till later on but it feels good to stop worrying about this.
I hope you start getting approve also really soon🤞
