I've never had any problem with LAX, only MNL.  I think PAL has direct MNL to LAX or SFO.  Then you can take Southwest or Alaska to DFW cheap.

My problem is the wife has never let the philippines and trying to make it easy on her for immigration entry

There was a short time Cebu flights were diverted to Manila because Duterte was having a tantrum. If I had to fly to Manila I wouldn't go at all. Right now I'm looking at going back to Cebu around January.

I am having problems locating a decent flight from manila to dfw, with out going through lax and at a decent price

Yes, I saw the notice this morning when I woke up. It makes little difference in mine and most cases unless you already have a 9a visa which most do not because we never needed a visa in the first place. So when you apply for the exemption you are applying for the visa at the same time. So I am still in the same boat.

Ok, did not know just thought i would tag ya

Yea, I went around 2012 and it was dead at night, I must of been during some off peak time.

I heard since they renovated the place you have to have reservations just to get on the island, I like to arrive and find a hotel.

I went in 2016 and it was fun as can be a lot of night parties on the beach, i stayed at willys

I believe they still have extreme limits on number of allowed inbound passengers to NAIA.  The airlines have been having to fly in half empty planes due to the limits and inbound flights to Manila have been extremely costly.  Flying into Cebu may bypass those inbound passenger limits and may be very helpful to the beleaguered airlines.

I have heard you are suppose to fly into manila now with all this scandemic happening

I do carry on: I take one carry on and a back pack for 30 days. I will bring, shorts, Wife Beater Shirts, T-Shirts, and underwear, and one extra set of flip flops in case mine break, I am size 13 and not easy to find shoes there. When I land I go to pharmacy and get soap, deodorant, razors, shaving cream and go from there.

Me as of the last few years I spend about 5 days in Manila hanging out and partying since everything stays open till like 6am. And then I transfer to another location.  I used to fly in catch a red eye to Davao City and hang there, but that place has gotten heavy traffic and kinda boring to me.

I do have Cebu on my list to visit, I used to hang out there quit a bit in the early 2008 to 2012 time frame, I haven't been in a long time and want to see all the upgrades they have and check out the new airport and new tourist areas.

You should try Boracay after the changed they made there, i like the old style they had with night time partying

Congratulations!!!! My wife only had to pay 500 to scan the documents. But I know it this point if you're like me you would be willing to pay anything to end this nightmare.

I would have paid 9k pesos or more what ever the cost to end this wild ride

It seems official.  No travel exemption needed for entry by 9a visa holders starting Aug 1.  That is kind of big news.

The requirement for the notation on the 9a visa would seem to invalidate existing 9a visas though.

  10. I think SLEC need to equipment and needs the doctors re-trained myself my wife was flagged twice once during K1 process then during this CR1 process and the doctor looked at both exrays side by side and told her they was exactly the same from 2017 till now, back then she had to take the 6 month regiment of pills but she was clear no hint of TB.  I honestly think they do it to hold people back and to earn extra money for their pockets after everything said and done.

Great.  Super happy that everything has worked out!!!!!!!

I dont want to cause any additional panic since this is a huge victory, but the President mentioned in the media that they are considering shutting down the borders.  It doesnt mean it will happen, but given the uncertainty with travel, I would suggest as soon as she picks up the visa, have her do her COVID test and get her out of there.

But congratulations on getting an enormous step of the process complete.

I just read that article and it said in my understanding of in coming flights

Right, but if you shut down coming in but dont shut down going out, then you have airplanes scattered all over the world racking up huge tarmac fees and they dont want to fly back empty.  Most countries that have closed their borders, have limited both inbound and outbound.  The worrisome thing I read is they mentioned Australia who has been almost completely shut down (inbound and outbound) for 1.5 years now.  They do have limited flights coming and going, but not much.  Its best for him to get his wife out of the country asap once they get the visa in hand.  It doesnt mean the Philippines will do something that drastic, but since its been talked about and given how unpredictable the Philippines has been with the whole Covid situation, its better to leave now.

I wish i could fly her out next week once we get visa but i would not be able to get to her, i am a truck driver and everything is set to buy ticket on august 5th so i know she has visa for sure and i can not get in for time off until the 1st

Thats the difference between you and me i speak my mind and what is on it no matter who's feeling get hurt, if you are true to each other and or true friends the person that got hurt feelings will get over it, that is what makes a stronger person.

Contact the hotels directly. If your booking though agoda or another booking site you’ll get a reply in 24 hours or less. It’s too hard to advise since hotels are all over the place in their requirements.  They will write back with their exact requirements.

Unless they unlocked hotels for general people they have been shut down and only used for quarantine people
