Well at first it was just easier for me to go to Canada since I’m a dual citizen but then we had two kids and time kept going by. Then we moved to Europe and now I’m done. I’m ready to go home 😓

Hi VJ Friends,
We have completed our case by this morning after our approval interview. ☺️
I just want to say something to you, PLEASE don't trust any advice from lawyer as you always can call and ask USCIS for any question. I was told by lawyer that since I am living with my husband outside of the US I can't be a petitioner OR at least 6 months before applicant's interview i have to move to US which is impossible for that period of time, so I called and asked USCIS and today I still live with my husband and he got approval so everything is POSSIBLE 🙆 good luck to all of you.

CaliRose got a reaction from IowacityGuy in my passport expire in 9 months and my process in the middle
USCIS take about 6 or 7 months for NOA2 and after that another 2 months for NVC so you still have plenty of time. you can change ur passport by Nov or Dec.

You should always follow the Department of State official advice for civil & police etc documents from other countries. Scroll down to the correct category on the left
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Turkey.html
Please note that if you are currently living outside of Turkey and would like to request a police certificate, you should not contact the Turkish National Police directly. Rather you should contact the nearest Turkish Consulate in the country where you reside to request the information. Please be sure to sign your request and include a copy of a valid identity card with your request. You may request a response in English.

CaliRose reacted to truelove29 in Case number still waiting
Hmmm I haven't heard of that department. I'm hoping it will just take a few weeks before I hear something (either checklist or case complete). My husband is in his home country...I'm in the U.S., but go back & forth often. We have an apartment together in his country.

CaliRose reacted to NYCruiser in not guarantee entry into the United States
If you google 'images of visas' of other countries, you will see it is the same
-
CaliRose reacted to geowrian in not guarantee entry into the United States
A visa is essentially a document used to apply for admission to the US with a given status. There's never a guarantee to be admitted until you are a USC.
That said, being denied entry with an immigrant visa is incredibly rare.
But if you want to know what happens, it's the same as any other denial - you are held until flight arrangements back home are completed.
