Read N400 instructions thoroughly. If it says GC holders with Russian citizenship can't apply for or will be denied the citizenship, don't file. If it doesn't say anything about Russia, file for it.

Just wanted to say how excited we were that the wife got her 10 yr card (about 10 months) today and surprised that we didn't even know it was sent, or who the package from from!  No interview, nor bio's, no notice that it's been approved or even sent.  Was a mystery!  Onward and upward!  I'll have some questions to ask in the forums about things in the coming weeks I guess!  Best of luck to everyone!   I thought we'd have to wait for another year, according to the timetable of approval estimates...

And?  If you have a real card, why does it matter when or how close they look at the vaccine proof ?   Your original questions seem a little odd to me.  I wish you good luck.  This immigration is a grueling process.  The pandemic has magnified the stress.

Ok, so I haven't been in this situation as we had flights involved BUT to maybe add an out there idea to the list, if you use Google Maps and have location services enabled, maybe somehow through that you could produce a log of continuous visits of each others address (there is a timeline feature where it shows how many times you visited a certain place during x months, for example, as far as I know)? This might be a bit overkill and there obviously are many issues with location services like that which I don't want to get into here (and I am in no way advocating for using them in general)  but just saying, IF you happen to have those enabled on your phones and DO have that timeline data available to you, it might be worth adding it to the evidence if you are comfortable with sharing that with USCIS. Overall, I think you will be fine though, your embassy will most likely be used to cases like this and evaluate the case accordingly. Good luck either way!

After waiting for nine months since we filed for ROC we received a generic RFE. Responded with more evidence a few days later and response was received.

A week later status changed to "Case was transferred to schedule an interview". Today, the physical letter arrived confirming the status though the office it was transferred to was NBC and not our local office.

Were we selected randomly? Was our evidence lost? Or was it that in the reviewing agent eyes we did not send enough? Impossible to know at this moment. What we are sure about is that happy, we're not.

The case is not even in our local office and who knows when will NBC transfer it, when will the local office receive it and when will the interview be scheduled. We can't even get a reference on processing times as ROC interview waiting time is not a thing.

Did we need this in our not so uneventful immigration path? No, we didn't.

And before someone asks if we have any red flags, we do, if being gorgeous and fabulous is considered a red flag.

All you need is evidence of meeting at least once, in person, in the two years prior to filing the I-129F petition.  What did you submit with the petition to prove this?  Evidence of the relationship is not necessary for a K-1, but documentation to show that you met at least once before filing the petition is required.  Bona fide relationship evidence is only required for a spousal visa, (and for K-1s from high-fraud countries).  Good luck!

That just isn't true.  The only stipulation, to my knowledge, is that the petitioner must enter the US either before or with the new immigrant.

Also, you don’t need to buy anything to study. You can find the questions online on the USCIS website, there are free apps with the questions, flash cards Etc (I used citizen now and recommend it), and there’s a ton of YouTube videos with different people asking the questions in random order, at different speeds, etc

I filed for my N400 in August 2021 and just got notice today that I have my interview scheduled for March 25, 2022! This is so fast - I thought it would take over a year to get the interview so I'm really happy that it's much sooner  However, I haven't begun preparing anything! I saw on amazon that there are some different test questions etc. but I don't know which one to get and study for? I read on the interview invitation that it says "If you filed your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, on or after Dec. 1, 2020, and are required to take the 2020 version of the civics test, you may now have the option to take the 2008 version of the civics test." and this confused me? Am I not supposed to get the material for 2021/2022 and I should be studying for an old 2020 or 2008 version of the test?

    Any help much appreciated!
    Thanks!

Finally some news: after more than 9 months waiting for a decision to be made, they finally approved my case and I am in line for oath ceremony.

I will never know exactly what caused the delay, maybe the A-file was stuck at the FRC, maybe my case was forgotten.  I had just put a second inquiry to my Senator two weeks ago, not sure either if that is what got it updated.  Maybe it was just timing, someone said here once: you just have to be patient, YES, I think I have been.  Each case is different, patience is the key.

Anyway, this thread in particular has somehow kept me from going insane at a times, so thank you all for your updates and encouragements.  I will keep checking on here and wishing everyone else waiting good luck, you will get there.

That doesn't make any sense at all.  .....You can apply for citizenship while the I-751 is pending.....they would then, likely, conduct a combo interview.
    I'm out.

This does not prevent you from moving to Florida.  By the way, We submitted my wife's I-751 in MARCH 2019.  about a year before you.......MSC......  Still waiting for interview....

The issue is not MSC.  The issue is your local office.

Sadly, the current I-30 will be denied.  I would withdraw the I-30, actually meet, then re-apply.  Once you have met, USCIS will recognize the date of the online wedding certificate as valid.  You can still, at the discretion of CBP, visit him during the process.  Good luck.

Catseal got a reaction from millefleur in Retaining Spanish citizenship after US naturalization
What fezlopez says is not wrong, however how I understood this your husband might be required to let the Spanish embassy know within 3 years that he wishes to preserve his Spanish citizenship (see here:
http://www.exteriores.gob.es/Consulados/SANFRANCISCO/es/ServiciosConsulares/ServiciosenSanFrancisco/Paginas/Nacionalidad.aspx , in the PDF titled "CONSERVACIÓN DE LA NACIONALIDAD ESPAÑOLA":

And this is what the form says in regards to visit at the embassy:
"Si Vd. desea solicitar la conservación de la nacionalidad española y si su residencia habitual está situada dentro de la demarcación consular de este Consulado General (consulte delimitación en nuestra Web), pida una cita según se indica en nuestra Web / Servicios Consulares / Cita previa, y acuda el día y hora asignados con los documentos que se indican a continuación."

I have no actual experience with the process, but hope this helps since it is directly taken from the embassy website. In any case, dual citizenship is possible.
