Yes, you can still apply if you can produce the documents listed below. You must also get renunciation certificate again if you lost your previous one.

It is open for deliveries. And that construction has nothing to do with USCIS - it is the Phoenix SKY-Train next door.

The employees are working. Lockbox facilities are never "Open" in terms of the public.

Rin R reacted to Thegirl in Purpose of Trip to US
In my country tourism visas are always b1/b2 especially for multiple entry visas. The singular ones are less frequently used unless the visit is specific to medical treatment (b2) or solely business (b1).

If you select a B1 DOS will go into more detail about your work. People that work for companies and need a B1 are far more less likely to overstay than someone who is entering on a B2 and planning to overstay.
The applicant has to prove to DOS that they do not have immigrant intent.
If your parents have visa stamps that does show they have returned home.

Hi,
My wife will be coming to US for the first time on a spouse visa. Somewhere I heard that when you fly in, as a first-time immigrant, you get unlimited luggage in air flight.
Not sure if that's true or false. Have you heard of anything like that?
Thanks

It's all BS. Just imagine thousands of people bringing unlimited luggage? Come on, it's not even funny. If you want unlimited luggage, be ready to pay unlimited price.

Lol...coming from country where rumors like this are prevalent, this one gave me a good laugh.
A popular rumor my home country is that if you win the DV Lottery, Uncle Sam will give you a house and a car to welcome you.

Stop listening to places where you heard this... Definitive answer will always be the carriers website where they describe the baggage allowances

International flights are different and vary by carrier. As mentioned the carrier's website is the source if info

Rin R reacted to SierraTenTango in Visa Interview and medical exam timing
The medical exam is good for 6 months I think. As far as I remember I read people are scheduling to do this right after they get NOA2. I'd go now at this point. It's better to have this done sooner than at the last minute. Good luck.

Most major airlines (united, American, delta) allow for two small carry-on bags and one checked bag (under a certain weight). I would check the carrier's website for limitations.
-
Rin R reacted to jskibo in Spouse visa luggage
As long as you pay for anything over two bags (one on some carriers), then yes its unlimited, just not free

Rin R reacted to JFH in Spouse visa luggage
Depends on the carrier. Singapore Airlines allows double the usual amount for people travelling on an immigrant visa. At least they did some years ago. I work for an airline and I can assure you that US-flagged carriers do not allow "unlimited" luggage free of charge to immigrants. The fuel is just too expensive for that. And the handling fees by the airport security screeners.
You may get a check-in agent who turns a blind eye to an overweight bag but that's as good as it gets.

Rin R reacted to pushbrk in Documents for immigrant visa interview
With the exception of China where all "Certified Copies" are actually "Notarial Translations" from the Gong Zheng Chu (Government Notary Office), NOTHING is notarized in the US immigration process.
In the US, a "Notary" witnesses signatures. What would a "Notary" do with a photocopy? Really?
The term "certified copy" refers to a copy of an original document that is in the hands of and property of a government agency. That agency certifies copies of that original document.

Rin R reacted to pushbrk in Police Clearence Certificate (original)? submit?
Submit a copy or a scan and print to NVC. The applicant should take the original to the interview. They will keep the original but it is never needed again.

Rin R got a reaction from Info9909 in I-130 Approval Times - Average Times
Hello All,
I am a US citizen. I filed for my wife who is in her native country, India.
The I-130 is at the Texas Service Center.
https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.do;jsessionid=abcrgmsFYFBke7K9EaV5v
USCIS received my case on May 22nd 2017. Today is 9/10. That means 111 days have elapsed since then.
I tried calling the USCIS and they said cases are backed up and that I should call USCIS after 8 months. well, will it really take that long? I am not sure why it's taking so long.
I am US citizen, filing for my immediate spouse so I think this approval should be around 3-4 months? Can anyone tell or give an idea of how long it will take to approve?

Rin R reacted to __immigrant__ in I-130 Approval Times - Average Times
My wife is a U.S citizen. We had no problems or criminal records. We had no red flags. She applied I-130 for me in June, 2015 and got approved in April, 2017.
a year and 10 months. Almost 2 years.
Guess what? the NVC stage was so smooth, and the embassy stage was so easy and smooth as well. and I received my visa the next business day. and at the POE was so easy and it took me to finish the whole process 15 minutes.
but at the USCIS stage we had to go through long security checks. the uscis said FBI checks. I'm currently in the U.S and till now we have no idea what that was. we waited so long but it worth it to wait. because now we're together.
My point is immigration process is not easy at all and not short. expect always to wait so long.
I wish you the best of luck.

Approval times for I-130 never were 3 to 4 months more 5 to 8 months. They are backlogged because Homeland security is revamping You are well within regular processing times All you can do is wait. I know friends waiting since December and January still nothing. This process is long.
