I wish you good luck.   Apparently they just approved the green card!  The website isn't very clear, but the email I received spells it out pretty clearly! Sooo excited.

So feeling a bit lost now..... We haven't heard back about the GC, going on 50 days now... His work auth expires Jan 22nd.  Do we need to apply for a renewal then?  If so we are even late in applying.  HELP!

EDIT:  Right after I submitted this I got a text.  The website now says the following.  Does that indicate Green Card?  lol It doesn't say!!
On October 24, 2018, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number MSCxxxxxx, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
  3. Thanks

Attended our interview in Baltimore yesterday.  Waited about 20 minutes after going through security and check in.  Interview lasted a little over an hour as the officer went line by line of my wife's application asking her to respond to each entry from memory.  Supplied joint bank statements, utility bills, insurance (car, home, life, health) and photos.  Asked each of us to identify someone in the photos we provided, the name of the grocery store we shop at (from the bank statement), how we met, have I met her parents and do they like me, and what initially drew me to my wife.  He asked my step-daughter about 5-6 questions (my name, age, name, does she like the USA, etc.)  Her mother translated some of it and she responded without help in English.

My wife was a little nervous and the officer made her more nervous questioning her about my nonexistent brother . . . I eventually interrupted and said to the officer that I didn't know what paper he was looking at because I don't have a brother.  He also was concerned about her name . . . she responded with the Vietnamese name order - Last, Middle First.  He wanted her to respond Last, First, Middle.  I spoke up and explained the Vietnamese naming custom and that seemed to help.

When it was finished, he said that he had "no reason not to approve the application" but needed to conduct a final review before approving them in the system.  He then explained that the green card would arrive within a week of the status changing online, they would need to remove conditions 90 days before the 2-yeard card expired, and that my wife could apply for citizenship in 3 years.  I am hoping that he said all of this because he planned to approve us.  When we left, he gave us 2 form letters (one each for my wife and daughter) that said the case was undergoing review and a decision would be made in 120 days.

It has been about 21 hours since the end of the interview, the new USCIS status website still says "Interview Scheduled."  The old website says "Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed."  I am trying not to check every 30 minutes hoping for a status change!

Congrats! I think since the officer gave you a speech on the Conditional Green Card and all is a great sign and the fact that you have a Daughter together is an added bonus. You should be approved very soon Im sure.

My wife and step-daughter had their AOS interviews today in Baltimore.  Our appointment was at 7:30, we arrived at 7:00, and completed security and check-in by 7:30.  We waited about 20 minutes before being called.  The interview lasted just over an hour as the officer reviewed the AOS application line by line.  He asked how we met, if I met her parents, and what initially drew me to my wife.  He asked my wife questions about my children, sister, my birthday, and where we go grocery shopping (based on our checking account statement). I provided pay stubs, joint bank statements and utility bills, insurance policies, photos, and notarized letters from my father, sister, son, and daughter.

He asked my step-daughter questions - who am I / what does she call me, how old is she, what is her name, and what time do I leave for work.  Her mother was allowed to translate when needed and she responded to all the questions in English.

The officer said he "did not see any reason not to approve us," but still needed to complete one more review before making a final decision.  He then talked about the next steps . . . when the green card would arrive, when to remove conditions, apply for citizenship, etc.  He gave us two form letters (one each for my wife and step-daughter) that stated that further review was needed before making a final decision within the next 120 days.  I am assuming (hoping) he wouldn't go through the trouble of explaining what happens after receiving the green card if he wasn't going to approve the applications.

Right now (3 1/2 hours since we left the USCIS office), the status on the old website says the interview was conducted but the case requires further review.  On the new website, it still says "Interview Scheduled."  I am hoping to see "in production" soon, as the officer said they would receive their green cards in the mail within 1 week from that status change.  For me, the last 6 hours have been the most stressful of the entire K-1/AOS process!  We are so close but still have no idea how much longer we must wait.

Why worry about the X-ray. The radiation is so minimal they can barely measure it, and if she informs them she is pregnant they have a lead blanket to cover her abdomen. The chest x-ray delivers the same amount of radiation as standing outside in the sun for 10 minutes. Your saying she can't go out side for more than 10 minutes due to danger to the child. Get the medical done and continue on. I would be more worried about getting her on a flight depending on how far along she will be, than worried about a x-ray.

Apply for your social security number.  My wife applied 2 days after arriving in the U.S (https://www.visajourney.com/content/ssn) and the card arrived in the mail 1 week later.

Start filling out the I-485, I-785, and I-131 for adjustment of status, employment authorization, and advance parole.  You can send these as soon as the ink dries on your marriage certificate next week.  Get passport photos taken (for the applications mentioned) and prepare to request several copies of your marriage certificate.  Collect documents needed when you submit the I-485.

Ask you spouse to add you to utility bills, cell phone plan, and rental agreement.  When the social security card arrives, your should be added to your spouse's bank account.  All of this (plus health insurance statements and beneficiary statements) should be saved as proof of a "bona fide" marriage for your upcoming green card interview.

Good luck and congratulations! - Jason

Yes. They will. On the forms it asks about any previous petitions/visas so you will have to disclose this info or you will be lying an causing misrepresentation.

Be upfront with you new fiance and just tell them about it, and it's done.

I'm assuming this is the beneficiary asking though.

If the USC still have to disclose on the forms and the CO will see about it and ask the beneficiary during the interview most likely and if they don't have knowledge of it, probably can cause a denial.

There are several sources that must look at in whole.

    https://www.uscis.gov/working-united-states/working-us

    1) You must have a Green Card, EAD, or a work-related visa to work in the US

    2) "Nonimmigrants enter the United States for a temporary period of time, and once in the United States, are restricted to the activity or reason for which their nonimmigrant visa was issued."

This means unless you have a visa that allows you to work, you are not allowed to. K-1 visa is not a work visa.

You do not become an immigrant until your adjustment of status, and therefore the quickest you are allowed to work on a K-1 visa is once the EAD has been issued.

Then, as far as working in the US for a foreign company goes.... here is a blog post about that has some sources in it

    https://www.nationofimmigrators.com/employment-based-immigration/immigration-lawyers-arguing-can-i-work-from-home-for-a-foreign-employer/

After being admitted to the U.S. on a K-1 nonimmigrant visa, your fiancé(e) may immediately apply for evidence of work authorization by filing Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization. In this case, your fiancé(e)’s work authorization is valid for only 90 days after his or her entry into the U.S.

Your fiancé(e) may also apply for work authorization at the same time he or she applies for a Green Card. In this case, your fiancé(e) can file Form I-765 together with the Form I-485. In this case, your fiancé(e)’s work authorization is valid for one year and may be extended in one-year increments.

For anyone who can benefit, I want to let you all know what happened at the interview yesterday, 10/12 in Cincinnati, OH. If you have any questions, let me know! My timeline is updated as well.

The interview went smoovely and lasted about 30 minutes. My husband does not speak English only Spanish, so we brought a translator with us. The officer only wanted the translator to translate when she needed to speak to my husband. She got annoyed when the translator translated literally every and anything said in English. Our lawyer and our 11 month old squirmy, talkative son accompanied us as well. We were running about 10 minutes late, but still were seen for the interview, as it didn’t seem to affect anything. The officer that interviewed us was semi-firm to show she was about business, but pretty cool overall. She asked me all of the questions concerning our relationship-if I know how to speak Spanish and if I can speak it well, how we met, when we met and started talking, our love story, our living situation, info on the day we got married and if/when our families met, job position information and any other supporting evidence. We provided her with a book of pictures, bank account statements to show that we have a joint account, print outs showing my husband as a beneficiary on vision, dental, and health insurance and 401k. We gave her 4 photos to put in the file. The officer only asked my husband the security questions. She was saying how I was the head honcho in charge, as anything she asked for I had it all ready to go on the spot.  The interview was almost like having girl talk, catching my boss up on my relationship with out crossing any personal or professional boundaries lol. Afterwards she told me to pass a piece of paper to my lawyer, then she gave me my copy, which was evidence of being approved and then she said the green card was approved. She then proceeded with how in two years we need to get the conditions removed and how we would receive the card in 2-4 weeks. A couple of hours later I got a notice saying that the card was being produced. And let the church say...AMEN.

    Hi guys
we had our interview Thursday October 11 in Boston at the JFK building.
We had to wait more than an hours because they were having system problems. After the wait an officer call us and let both of us inside. She asked basic question from the formularies that didn’t feel like an interview. She also was super friendly.
The interview lasted about 35 minutes but she mostly went trough the formularies and my multiple visas. Then she ask about  5 questions about our relationship and didn’t care who would answer them.
The questions were easy, she asked when and where we met, why our fathers didn’t come to the ceremony, my wife birthday, and my parents names.
It is important to mention that she didn’t even look to our new evidence that we brought to the interview, but she defenetly had study the package that I sent in July. S he knew that we met long ago and mentioned that she saw that our fathers weren’t in the pictures.

She never approved us on the spot but she explain how the temporary green card would work and that in 2 years I would have to apply to other one. Then I asked her when would I have the decision from the interview and she said that probably by the end o of the day.

We left home and just after 5pm I got the notification of my approval!

    Good of luck everyone

Hello all! I'm happy to say that my husband and I went to his AOS interview yesterday, 10/11/2018 and we were APPROVED. The interview was very laid back. The officer was very courteous. The interview started with small talk about the weather. He then asked us how we met, how we knew when we wanted to get married, and when and where we first met in person. Then he asked for evidence that we lived together. We provided joint bank account docs with our names on it, a copy of our lease, doc showing he was the beneficiary of my life insurance, work doc showing that he was on my med and dental insurance, as well as copies of his med insurance and rx cards. We also provided flight receipts and hotel reservations for our honeymoon next month, which he accepted.

He said there would be a 90% chance he would approve our case that day, and that he would just have double check the docs we gave. We were kind of confused when we left because we weren't sure if approval was a sure thing, like he'd either do it that day or the next day, or if he wouldn't do it all. About 2 hours after our interview, we got an email from USCIS saying a new card is being produced for his I-485.

I'm happy to being done with part of the journey. I will enjoy our break from USCIS, then we will apply for ROC.

For a K1/K2, the fee is $265.  This link has the fees for U.S. visas  - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/fees/fees-visa-services.html.

Payment arrangements vary by country.  After completing the DS-160, you need to create an account at the US Travel Docs website - http://www.ustraveldocs.com.  You'll need info from the DS-160 you submitted and it will create a bar coded receipt that you will use to pay the visa fee.  In Vietnam (and many other countries) you bring the receipt to the local post office.  After paying the visa fee, the post office will give you another receipt with a number that you enter at the ustraveldocs website.  DO NOT LOSE THAT RECEIPT!  Once you enter that receipt number, you "unlock" the option to schedule an appointment.
