If you had been following our adventures, my fiancee and her daughter had been stuck in Manila because she kept testing COVID positive, and Cebu now requires a negative test to enter. They found a beach front apartment (literally, the beach comes right up to he door) in the Batangas area, a few hours south of Manila. She and her daughter love it, and will stay until they reschedule our interview. They catch fresh fish and crabs daily, and there are a few Americans with their wives, who decided just to stay when Covid hit. Her daughter has plenty of kids to play with and told me last night she never wants to lwave this place, but please wait for us in America (5 years old). All's Well, That Ends Well, at least this week.

Yeah quite a mess in the Philippines.  We have sent money and 5 boxes of food and will continue to do so, but it is way past time for the Philippines to come up with a workable plan.  People are going hungry and need help.  Vaccination program appears to look like the typical government  graft and corruption.  If you want the China/Vac it may be available in days starting in T between midnight and 3a.m. every other vaccination is show me the money.

Paperwork is still mailed to the appropriate consulate (as noted by top_secret) ....   So why start it with DFA?  ROM is completed by mail/UPS/Fed/Ex (your choice of carrier) skip the DFA silliness and follow the process as noted on the consulate website.

So it seems that if I hang out for two weeks in Burkina Faso before arrival in the Philippines I could save three days on my quarantine.

Yes.  When you checkout of QHotel, you are on your own.
There are also taxis that you can get in airport to hotel, might be cheaper.  My arrival was at night, and I was thinking Ill be at airport for a long time, so wanted to get a sure car service.

They are only asking for you to provide documents. You do not need to supply everything that they list. We only sent school records and 1 school picture. If you read my first post in this thread I showed the actual cover letter that I sent to the Embassy.

My gut feeling is that the faster you send in the info the better your case looks. Taking a long time gives you time to fabricate things. We sent our response 2 days after the interview. Overthinking this will not help.

No, she will receive the visa from the US embassy. Once she has that she needs to register for the CFO and do a phone interview. CFO is by the Philippines and required for any Filipino planning to immigrate.. I just mad a post about 2 weeks ago on the CFO process. As for Covid it's only a est currently but could change.

Room is clean and big, great they have window! I always look forward for the breakfast.. i love each day!  I request 630am delivery, their regular is 7am, but am too hungry to wait considering my body clock 🤣.  Lunch and Dinner - not so much, maybe because my clock does not coincide with the meals, so i eat them cold. When it is brown with sauce, it looks all adobo to me!  Lol!  They serve lots of fruits everyday, so that’s nice.  Bring your supply of emergen-c, i have both the powder and the gummies.  It helps to add boost to your immune system.  I do not usually take this, i get sick everytime i go home here, but this time, i was afraid to get sick or show weakness, and it worked!  The rate in UP microtel is 3500/day 3 meals included. 2K for the Avis car service, the hotel booked it and i pay through hotel. I know there are cheaper hotel elsewhere, but i like this one because it’s intl and can charge to my ccard plus i know they will have good internet.  There are list of hotels at pal site, you can also base rates there.  With internet, cable, phones, facetime, messenger, etc - i still got sooo bored from Day 6! I started saying good morning to the birds, so am glad i have a window. 🤣🤣🤣 i think 10-days is too much, but o well… oh, more food.. you can order other food from restaurant your cost.  They have a 5 gallon jug water in your room, a sink, and i got an electric pot.  I brought my own mini auto volt one, but my room have one in it.  On day 3, i finished my water supply (left over from flight) and i started drinking from the water jug.  If it is not mineral, my stomach turns and does not like it… my fiance called front desk and drop off 6-liter mineral water + supplies of goldilocks baked goods ☺️☺️☺️… so am happy 😍

As promised for my Quarantine Update.  So, the document you get from the RT-PCR lab is already the BOQ Certification.  It states that you are covid free and have completed # days (10 for me) of Quarantine at __.
Also instructs what to do after.  My brother brought this document  to our barangay and got issued with Letter of Acceptance.  I emailed the doc to the hotel and they have acknowledged.  Anyway, checking out of Quarantine hotel tomorrow picked up by my family member.

Looks like yellow and red countries have a similar quarantine period.  10 days in a hotel plus 4 days at home.  Green country arrivals who are vaccinated have a 7 day quarantine, 10 days who are not.

That looks like the only difference, but if your not going until October, that still leave times for 2-3 more changes.

It's even allowed to have the intent to get married during a genuine Tourist visit: https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visa-faqs/
We are traveling to the United States to marry and will return to the United Kingdom after marriage. Do I still need a fiancé(e) visa?
If you will return to your permanent residence you may apply for a tourist B-2 visa, or if eligible, travel visa free under the Visa Waiver Program.  At the time you apply for the visa and/or travel to the United States you will be required to show that you have a residence outside the United States that you do not intend to abandon. There is no set form that this evidence takes as it varies with each person’s circumstances.

Can even file I-130 petition for consular processing during the US visit (but this is moot since you mentioned your goal is to live in the Philippines).

If she visits the US then she shouldn't stay beyond the I-94 date.

RO_AH reacted to flicks1998 in Arriving in Manila changes coming
The IATF came out yesterday with the recommendation of "granular" lockdowns throughout Manila.  I almost fell over when reading the details as if the process has not been confusing enough over the last 1.5 years.  Around September 8th or so, Manila would move to GCQ, but certain hotspots around the city would have different levels of restrictions.  They would be coded as Level 1, 2, 3 ,4.  The lockdown area may just be a group of houses or subdivisions, instead of an entire barangay.

I know the Philippines has allowed LGUs to make their own Covid rules, which I took as at the barangay level, but now if your going to start dividing up barangays into tiny little fiefdoms, good luck ever knowing what travel protocols youll have to follow if your going back for a visit.

You have good advice from the others, but its true that PI Immigration will treat your 31 year old girlfriend as if she was 12.  There is going to be alot of risk youll have to take if you are to meet in a 3rd country.  As for the CFO, this was never required for tourists, but for some reason it seems Immigration is inconsistently requiring this from departing Filipinos, especially ones who are departing to meet up with boyfriends/girlfriends/fiances/spouses.

Also, since you have never met before, you may want to take some other precautions as well.  Without commenting on your specific relationship, there can be alot of deception in the Philippines.  I have seen this between Filipino/foreigner and Filipino/Filipino relationships.  If your intentions are to possibly get engaged or get married, before investing a ton of money or emotions into the relationship, you may want to get a Cenomar from her.  Some on this board may disagree as they may feel you just put your trust into your partner, but I dont agree with that considering the overwhelming cases of deceptions I have seen on friends, colleagues, etc.  The Cenomar will tell you if she has been married and if her marriage is annulled.  If she is still married, the financial burden will most likely fall on you and this annulment can take many years and thousands of dollars.  As an example, a close Filipino colleague of mine while in Singapore was filing for an annulment from his wife.  By the time it was done, it was almost 5 years and over $25,000 USD.  There are examples where it may only take 2-3 years and $10K or so, but it can be a long drawn out process.  Also, if your GF asks the same for you, then you should be willing to provide a document from the US as well.

You may already know about this and I dont know your experience with the country, but things you may want to consider.  A few red flags from your first post and being a little careful was 1) never met before 2) 31 years old  3) Has a child.  If I was going to meet someone from the Philippines for the 1st time in a 3rd country and my intention was possibly to get engaged/married, there is no doubt I would ask for this document.

Yes.  it is possible and has been widely tested.  Utah is issuing the marriage certificates. The Philippine Consulate in San Francisco has been processing the Reports of Marriage with full disclosure that they are an online marriage.  9a Visas are being issued.  USCIS is honoring the online marriages for CR-1 visas after the couple has met.   For better or worse it is now tried and true.  It's a brave new world.   There's even a case of a Utah online marriage of Russian who had never been to the US, to a Filipina that had never been to the US, and the two of them traveling back from Russia to the Philippines together and the guy entering with balikbayan privilege.  Utah is undoubtable the wedding capital of the world right now.

There may be allot of folks before to long discovering that online divorce is not yet a thing.  Especially not in the Philippines.  And yes The Philippine Consulate in San Francisco is only issuing 9a visas AFTER the Report of Marriage is filed for the online wedding.

Well, sometimes just need to look at anything at all that is positive, no matter how small it is.   I could have said that the new numbers are out and at 150 a month, it will take 3.5 to 4 years to clear out the current backlog at that pace, or even if USEM gets back to processing 600 K1s a month, it will take at a minimum 10-12 months to clear out the backlog.  Plus that doesnt include the 15-20% (backed by actual data) of applicants that will fail the medical and require 2 months of cultures to grow for TB, plus additional time for people who will also receive 221g's at their interview, etc etc   Added to that, the minimum of 10 months to wait in the US for approval of the work and travel authorization, etc etc

Its better to look at it as the numbers have at least increased, a little.
