Remember there is a difference between what is required and what they request to see. The I-134 is required to be completed and be available during the interview. However, the Embassy may not ask to see and examine. They have not requested and looked at it very much in the past, but the for future who knows. Just know it is a requirement whether they blow it off or not, and it is better to be safe than sorry.

Always go into the interview process fully prepared with all paperwork. Never take the word of others. I also heard they were going to start being stricter on the I-134 and all starting this year so, again, always go in prepared.

This day in age the average time frame is as short of 9 months and as long as a 12 months. If you have any Philippine specific questions please feel free to head over to the Philippines subforum.

JimRaynor reacted to Bugs in How long does the process take for Philippines to US?
Congrats on starting your journey. As others said, expect at least half a year. While you prepare, I offer 4 pieces of advice:
1. Start planning NOW. Read up well ahead of time on all the requirements from start to finish so you know what both of you will need to obtain, assemble, and save in terms of all the necessary items in advance and during your visits. Planning ahead goes a long ways towards a smoother journey.
2. Organize everything with a clear table of contents and clearly labeled sections when submitting your application. And don't send way more than what is sufficient. Just as long as all bases are well covered, it's good. The adjunctators will appreciate you doing these things for them rather than have to sort through a jumble of hundreds of pages themselves.
3. Check here with any question and to even have your packet reviewed, before submitting. The guidance here is unparalleled, invaluable, impeccable, and, most importantly, free.
4. BE THERE with your fiancé for the interview.
Good luck!

Yeah, she's going to meet me at the airport actually. But it's nice to know what I could do just in case. Thanks guys

Depends on where your petition will be processed. You can check the timeline of current filers here : http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?form=1&visa=1&scenter=5&option=1&sortby=2
But ours only took around 3 months from the day we sent out our petition to the time when I got my K1 visa approved. I'm from Manila as well but our petition was processed in CSC.

About 6-8 months at the moment from initial filing to visa in hand.

JimRaynor reacted to Hank_ in Should I exchange Pesos for USD at airport in US?
When "buying" USD with pesos this is when the high number posted on exchange websites come into play as that is the cost. So it takes more pesos to buy the dollar. At this moment it takes 50.47 pesos to buy a dollar. Some exchange services may pad the cost further...
http://coinmill.com/PHP_USD.html#USD=1
At this moment, P12,000 = $237.78
To buy pesos with a USD it is reversed, subtract roughly 1 pesos from prime
Not sure where is a good place to exchange pesos for dollars, I always keep my pesos. I know I can do it at our bank here, but we have an account.

JimRaynor reacted to Ben&Zian in Does your initial 30 days start once you step foot in the Philippines?
For me it was always marked as the day I landed; but I always seemed to get the flights that land at 12:30am so.
-
JimRaynor reacted to Cyberfx1024 in Does your initial 30 days start once you step foot in the Philippines?
Yes the 30 days starts as soon as you actual land in the Philippines and ends the day you leave.

Take only a metered cab. For safety, take a cell phone picture of the license plate and the cab number make sure that it is obvious to the driver that you are doing this. Get on the phone or pretend to when you get in the cab and tell the person you are 'talking to' that you sent them the cab info......
that being said, Ive been to Manila 6 times in the last four years and I have never had a bad experience.

Download Grab Car app and call for a ride, the rates are fixed or UBER, but Grab car is a more popular choice.
By the time you get out of immigration and getting your luggage it would be 530 or so, it won't be dangerous hours by then.

JimRaynor reacted to Redheadguy03 in Looking for advice for not getting ripped off after arriving in Manila
You can also get metered taxi or set prices. Just don't use the taxis that don't use a meter. Can't your girlfriend meet you at the airport? It helps to have a Filipina with you.
