Having trouble finding work. Any ideas?

I'd like to file for a K1 Fiance Visa for my fiance who I recently proposed to when I was in the Philippines (I live in the US). I'm back home now. I live in a small town in the state of Illinois and I've been trying to find a job for the past 2 months to no avail. I know there's an income requirement for the K1 Fiance Visa, so I'd like to get to work ASAP. Anyone have any ideas for good jobs to get into right now?

Whom told you there is an income requirement for the K1?  There is nothing on the K1 application asking about or wanting to know your income.

Here is the paperwork to file a K1 - https://www.uscis.gov/i-129f

There is none for the initial petition, but there is an income requirement for the k-1 visa application when his fiancé gets to the embassy in her country (100% of the poverty guidelines). It's very good of him to start looking for a job now as that will help him tremendously to reach the minimum they ask for.

That being said, you can also see if you can find a sponsor (your parents maybe) in case the job does not work out or if you don't make enough to sponsor her.

To get the information complete. Once you are married and she files for AOS you are required to have an income of 125% of the poverty guidelines. Best to keep that in mind right from the start.

Good luck on the job hunt!

Incorrect

US Embassy in Manila does not ask for income requirements,  hasn't asked for them for over two years.

Please don't spread false information,  Income requirements is country specific

I apologise, I did not know that. Is it still in the AOS part?

Yes

There are even some CO"s conducting the interviews who are telling the applicants that the I-134 was never ever really needed in the first place, They were telling some people that about 18 months ago.

What about being a nurse tech. They help out nurses in the hospitals. seems to be always hiring for them.

Go to school while working there, Only need a two year associates degree to be a Registered Nurse and community colleges do the course.

Or become a LVN, only need one year of schooling.

What the heck? Don’t listen to this person. There is an income requirement. You need to be at 125% of the poverty line to be able to support a K1 visa. Some embassies will take 100% of the poverty line at the interview stage but then at AOS you have to be at 125%. Nowhere on USCIS does it say there’s no income requirement. Don’t give out wrong information.

Would you happen to know if the embassy in Manila, Philippines will accept 100%?

How will you support your fiancé after she gets here if you don't find a job in time? You do know she won't be able to work for several months and you have a hefty AOS bill to pay after marriage, don't you?

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

I have money in my savings, more than enough to cover everything. I left my last job before flying out to the Philippines, and I stayed there for 2 months. I won't begin the K1 process until after I start working. So that's the plan.
