Other than explaining that you are in "authorized stay" during adjustment of status, showing your passport and showing the receipt for the I-485 are all you can do.

USCIS does background checks as does the Department of State at the appropriate times. For immigration purposes, there is no erasing a record.

A satisfactory medical exam is required prior to the issuance of all immigrant visas.

If the joint sponsor isn't qualified, the Consulate Officer isn't going to approve the I-864.

May be a consulate specific thing.  However, I fail to see the need for a wet signature. Makes zero sense to me.

The OP should have already submitted income evidence when she submitted her own I-864.

Technically not required, but I would get  it to them if possible.

    Hi all,

Just wanted to share my interview experience in the Indianapolis office. I was scheduled last Friday on May 17th. I arrived there about 20mins before. My spouse had to find parking so I had to wait for him at the door so I can tell security he was with me. As soon as he got past security, I walked to the sitting area where the people waiting for interviews are being called. There was a guy who was talking to the people waiting and when he saw me, he asked for my name and recognized me and said I can go in with him. Apparently he was my interviewer and recognized me from my records. He told my spouse to stay at the waiting area. When we went to his office, he was making small conversation about my spouse but I think he was also evaluating me at the same time(?) asking about what he does for work and how we met. And then he told me that my I-751 record was in a different office so he had to request it the night before so he can approve that and my N-400 application. He said because he needs to take action first on the I-751, he will have to wait for my records to go through to the office, approve it, and THEN approve my N-400. But we can still do the interview and he will just take action on my N-400 once he's received all my records. He then proceeded to do the interview starting with the 6 questions. These are the one I can remember: economic system of the US, how many senators there are, the two political parties, how old citizens have to be to vote, what happened in the constitutional convention.

I  was able to get the 6 questions correct. He asked me to read something and then write something on the tablet. All throughout, he was asking me questions about things like what I do for work, my education, what house we got, how big it is and when we got it. He was partly asking them to get info but also to kill time because the computer is taking a while to respond. He then asked me the Yes-No questions and to confirm my information. After that, he said that things are good and provided me a printout of the decision. He said he had to check that he can't make a decision at the time because of my I-751 but it is nothing to worry about and I should be good as soon as the records come through. I was only there for maybe around 20 minutes which was really nice.

As soon I got into the car, I got an email indicating that there has been an action on one of my cases. I looked at my USCIS account but there were no changes although after less than an hour, I checked again and I-751 was updated saying it's been requested to a different office. Now I'm just waiting for my oath taking ceremony to be scheduled. Will post again when I get my notice.

No.  The box just below the one you mentioned is for stepchild.  Check that one.  Include supporting documents listed in the I-130 instructions for each relative.  Required documents are different for the child than your spouse.  Adding that each package must be able to stand alone. For example your marriage certificate will be in both stacks/packages.  Mail both stacks in the same envelope.

Yup. We did. I am a government employee so I submitted my most recent (at the time of filing) DFAS earnings statement, employment letter, government employment contract etc.

DFAS earnings statement is the government equivalent of a paystub btw

Great advice.  Also become an A-Student of the I-130  instructions before completing the forms.  Same with any form.  Do not rely on tips, except this one.  "Do the homework" described in the previous sentence.  We'll be here to answer anything you don't understand.
