So, my interview was this morning at the Brooklyn office. My wife came with me, they allowed her into the building but kept her in the waiting room as the officer didn’t want to speak with her.

I did the N-400 interview alone, passed all tests answered a few very basic questions about my name, DOB, job, travel history. I was then told that as the I-751 was being waived I couldn’t be formally approved on the spot and that they needed to do some work in my case behind the scenes to close it all out. They said I shouldn’t worry as I should expect to hear from USCIS in a few days time to be scheduled for an oath ceremony.

I spent ages assembling all our documents and the officer didn’t ask to see anything at all other than my Green Card. It actually took longer to get into the building that it did to be interviewed! Feels very strange to think that this process is very nearly over.

Interview scheduled for tomorrow morning. Checked and re-checked our documents a hundred times but still convinced I've forgotten something! I'm sure it'll be fine, I've probably got way too much stuff to be honest but oh well! We have a pending 751 as well as the 400, so I will report back on if they interview for both, what they asked and what evidence they requested.

Been sitting at 'Case is Ready to be Scheduled for an Interview' here in NY since November 25th. I've not applied for citizenship yet, I'm just trying to remove conditions.

Hello all. Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving.

We had an update last week. Had an email to say that our status had updated, which said:

As of November 25, 2020, we are ready to schedule your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number EACxxxxxxxx, for an interview.

We will schedule your interview and send you a notice.

Glad to see some movement at last! Does anyone know if this means we will definitely being getting an invite, or is there still the possibility that the case will be approved without one?

Also, does anyone who has interviewed recently know what extra evidence they might ask us to supply? Considering we submitted our application 18 months ago are USCIS likely to want us to provide an additional 18 months of bank statements, credit card statements etc. or just evidence from more recent times?

We are in NYC (if that makes any difference).

    Thanks!

My case is overdue now, so submitted a request online a few weeks back and I had this reply today, which doesn't really tell me anything at all. The wait continues!

The status of this service request is:

Recently, you or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, to notify us that you believe your case is outside of our normal processing time. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

Your case is currently under review by an officer. We regret that we are not able to give you a time frame for when we will complete the review of your application.

    What You Can Do
Please see the Online Services below to check the status of your case.

We hope this information is helpful and appreciate your continued patience.

Received the paper notification in the mail today. It says the case was transferred to NBC in order to schedule an interview.  So I guess we just keep on waiting!

Are interviews even being scheduled right now?

From what I’ve been told if it moved to the local service center that means to prepare for an interview.  Or it just may have to be moved to yet another service center... sorry 😐 this is really hair pulling.  Mine is EAC199009***** noa date May 17 2019 and transferred 4/21/2020 to national benefits center.  What about yours?

It doesn't say local service center on my online account, it just says 'to another USCIS Office' so who knows?!

Mine is EAC199007xxxx, NOA date of 4/1/2019, moved to Potomac on 12/17/2019 and moved again yesterday. Will update where it got moved to when I receive the notification in the mail!

I wouldn't mind getting an interview appointment, at least we'd be making some progress! I suppose we might be owed an interview, we didn't have to have one for AOS!

Your best bet is to contact an attorney. This is a complex situation and needs to be handled by a professional.

You can just go ahead and file for AOS. Other than that you can disregard what the lawyer said together with the shaming of some members here for that matter.

Only thing you need to keep in mind is that they won’t be able to work and leave the country for about 4-5 months until they receive their EAD and AP.

Additionally familiarise yourself with the income requirements for sponsorship and the new public charge guidelines (the latter is irrelevant if in some way you manage to get a courthouse wedding and get a packet together send before the 23rs, but that’s unlikely).

Other than that welcome here. Some personal advice regarding VJ. There’s a loud part of the member base that's right leaning to say the least some of which are of the calibre that would love to pull up the ladder behind them. More often than not they’re seasoned members around here. If you’re not interested in useless debates I’d advise to just keep to yourself.

Additionally there’s a general contempt for people that adjust status inside the US that manifests amongst other ways by scaring you into thinking things are gonna go bad, scary warnings on certain pages here and shaming people to name a few ways. It typically stems out of a feeling of envy or unfairness, it’s typically not personal though.

Either way, good luck to the two of you

Yes they do, but what's worse is that they still consider WaPo to be a reliable source and people still accept it unquestioningly. Journalism is truly dead, propaganda is alive and well.

Christianity, Islam and Judaism will tell you to ask your wife or your husband a permission before traveling, and we have all religions here in the USA. It depends on your relationship with your partner and what you are facing.

Markip1 reacted to amiraolivia in Advice on waiver form I-601, and how to avoid vaccination
    Hello everyone.
I want to get some advice here ,as many of you probably have been thru this already.
So my hubby is in the US -he is a Bulgarian but he already have his American passport. Me and our two kids in the other hand are British citizens ,  but at the moment we live in Bulgaria. We are planing to join daddy very soon and apply for documents there. We have been in the States few times already no problem.Me and him are married in USA.
The thing is - our children are born in UK , and never been vaccinated. They are healthy and happy little kids. We do not believe in vaccine and we do not want this poison in our children bodies.
Can anyone who have been thru this ,let me know what is the procedure to avoid vaccination? I know about the waiver form I-601 ( religious beliefs ), and we planing to hire an attorney to help us with the documents. What is the chances the waiver is granted?
But what if we got rejected on our application? What happened next? Do we need to leave the country or what ?
Can anyone suggest a good lawyer in Chicago?
I will really appreciate any advice you give me.
    Thank you.

Please do not worry about this.  It will be a very long time before this would possibly be approved and there is no chance that it will be approved as is.

As stated it can impact K and CR visas.  This was originally proposed is 2014 under the Obama Administration but the current discussion is much tougher on the family visa.  It would completely eliminate bring parents and siblings over and even spousal and fiancee visas would be based on a number system assigned to the beneficiary on their expertise.  Do not stress on this.  It won't pass as is and even if it passes it won't be for a very long time.
