Thanks for sharing! I got it back too, it says "we are taking longer than expected to process your case". In my opinion, this means they will truly open on May 3!

nope, I have not received any updates since then. Sigh....I hope that all the in-person interviews are canceled, they can really work on our I-751. It's been over 15 months now....

Your evidence should reflect your life together from the beginning of your marriage, not just the last few months.

Buying joint insurance now or setting up a joint bank now probably won’t help.

The media is hyping the impact of the virus, for obvious reasons. Nothing else they've tried (against Trump) has worked. Our president is doing an excellent job handling the situation. Sounds like you caught a case of TDS.

IowacityGuy reacted to Hawksquill in Marriage is going well but living separately -- how does that affect my status?
Why can't your spouse move with you?  And if they can't move for some compelling reason, why not find a university closer to home so you can live together?  It's going to make it much more difficult to prove the relationship is legitimate - most people would not willingly choose to live apart from their spouse, especially after they went through so much in the US immigration system to be together.  In most cases where couples have to live apart, it's because one of them is in the military and has been deployed, or one of them has a job that requires a lot of travel (like working on an oil rig or something similarly dangerous where the other spouse can't easily move to be with them).  Choosing to move out of state to go to college isn't going to look like a very good reason, and it might actually look like you've separated.

What kind of other evidence do you have - joint bank accounts, shared insurance, car loans in both your names?

I have been quiet, but observant, an really trying not to get overwhelmed. Last night I was particularly stressed, wondering if I would get an RFE....

Today, everything is better! Hubby and I will go out to celebrate!!! I just got a notification in a change of my case status.
    "Card is being produced"!!!

What a relief. Next step N-400

Wishing everyone still waiting, that you get your card soon. My signature has my timeline and here is some additional info. Happy to answer any questions you might have:
    - Submitted mid November 2018 - Texas Service Center
    - Didn't get extension letter so I requested a copy
    - Copy hadn't arrived and the card was close to expire so I requested online an infopass on January 2019 and got an I-551 stamp in my passport that would last 1 year . They took my green card and they mentioned I could keep the extension letter as a reference when I got it
    - Got the extension letter copy  via post
    - Got a biometric appointment letter for November 2019
    - Requested a new infopass to renew my I-551 stamp on my passport. I had to wait 30 days before it expired to be able to schedule the infopass and they called me to schedule it once I called to explain my situation.
    - Got the renewal of the stamp  on December 2019
    - After 15 month and a week of waiting I got a notification that my status has changed. Went online and confirmed that my card was being produced.

I will confirm once I have my card with me.

    Good luck everyone!

My interview was Des Monies, Iowa office. Very straight forward interview. Only ask basic question like how long you guys has been married? Kids? My wife hasn’t been to India yet? And he started typing and he printed a sheet. It said recommend for approval! I was numb. But when I left parking it my status changed to new card being produced..

For the ones worrying about the writing part of the test now, please remember:

You could not be failed because of spelling, capitalization, or punctuation errors unless the errors would prevent understanding the meaning of the sentence.

Imo if you are able to write in here and people understand what you try to say, you should be fine
  24. Thanks

please do not judge anyone on the basis of there English. I think its way better. he seems lost and may have anxiety. I don't know him but seems like he is trying to find a answer. please be sympathetic. He will not fail any interview. he will be fine as other member stated.

You are 19. Sorry, but you're basically a kid. I met my fiance when he was 20 and he was in no way, shape or form ready to do much more than finish his degree program and play a LOT of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. He wasn't ready to get married back then -- he still was figuring out who he was and what he wanted from life. I obviously don't know you, but I guess you probably are still figuring out who YOU are too. That is fine! That is what we are supposed to do when we're very young. Getting married is a HUGE step for someone as young as you are, let alone all the red flags that you have.

I say this out of kindness: you barely know this woman. You barely know her, you do not know her culture, you do not know her likes and dislikes very fully, you do not know the complexity of her hopes and dreams yet -- just as you do not know all of your own. Give it time. Love is amazingly forgiving if you tend it and cultivate it like a beautiful flower -- give it space to grow and flourish. Feed it with kindness and restraint. Do not crowd it, do not force it to blossom.

Please think carefully on what it is you aim to do. Marriage is an act of love, but it is also an act of sacrifice. Are you completely sure you are ready to give what is required?
