Tom169 got a reaction from NikLR in Reuired for Employment Eligibility in the U.S.?
File I-485 to adjust status and also include a I-765 for an employment authorization document. When that arrives she can gain employment. Without the EAD she can't work.

Social security is something you pay into to get so no he will never get social security , Medicare is also a pay into plan so again he doesn't get medicare for free. After 5 years he can pay a rather hefty fee to be covered by medicare. You signed an affidavit of support for him. Be prepared to open your wallet and pay quite a bit for him to live here. He may have benefits from wherever he is from , but then again he may have lost those by immigrating here. Immigration for the elderly is not cheap

Tom169 got a reaction from Ebunoluwa in Adjustment of Status Interview Notice & I-693
That's not true.
Things are different for a K-1 who is adjusting status. The medical must be dated within 1 year of filing for adjustment of status, regardless of when it's adjudicated.
If you have not filed within 1 year of the overseas medical then you'll need a new medical.
That said, does your DS-3025 have it checked that you meet all the vaccination requirement? Not just the note on the second page.
If it doesn't then you'll need a US civil surgeon to transcribe you a new vaccination only medical. I had the same issue with my Knightsbridge medical and was RFEd at interview.

That sucks, because the overseas medical shouldn't expire once you've sent off the I-485.
However, an I-693 form will expire after a year, even if the application is still in progress.
It doesn't surprise me that some adjudicators handle these the same.

Then you should be good. Take the DS-3025 to the interview and good luck!

Yeah that timeline is pretty amazing. For me it was a year, with things taking about 4 months after interview all because Knightsbridge didn't fill out the DS-3025 correctly.
The form has since been changed and from what you wrote you're on the new style form which should avoid the mistake happening to you.
