Check your green card dates when you get it, It turns out that the 'resident since' date on my 10- year card  was the date when I applied for my removal of conditions rather than the date I became a permanent resident in 2018. So, I filed I-90 online and called USCIS and requested expedited processing for my replacement green card due to USCIS error.

Please don't do this.  It's not a great idea if the placeholder number is an actual SSN belonging to someone and this person actually reports the income.  You potentially are creating a problem for someone else.  In addition, using a fake SSN could lead to unintended consequences such as identity theft if the number actually belongs to someone.  If you pursue this, then it seems that $1500 is worth more BS.  

Cut your losses and be done.

My wife is still quite young and all we did before immigrating to the US was travel and live outside the US.   We got here on a CR-1, she files ROC next month and will do citizenship after that.   We still do travel but only for a few weeks at a time.  She is working and getting her nursing degree.  After citizenship, I'm completely ready to go wherever she wants.   3 or 4 years in the US is a very small price to pay for citizenship.  You should compare what it takes for most other countries.

Background:
We mailed Mrs. T-B.'s N-400 (citizenship) to USCIS last week. I printed the 100 interview questions that USCIS can ask, wrote the answers, and gave them to Mrs. T-B. to study. She stated that she had "looked" at them "a little" during the last couple of days, between Facebook activity and chasing after young Mini-Bone.
As I tucked her into bed tonight (she has resigned herself to my late-night VJ-ing), the conversation went as follows:
Mrs. T-B.: I was looking on-line for "how to remodel your kitchen without money."
T-B.: Shouldn't you have been looking for "how to pass my citizenship test without studying?"
Mrs. T-B. [brightly]: I looked at the answers! Ask me some of the questions!
T-B.: OK... uh, "Who was the Father of our Country?"

If they as for a DNA test it has to be done through a USA certified lab. If you dont use one of them they will not accept it and it will not be valid. we had to get one for our daughter because the nice lady at the consulate in chiang mai said our daughter looked to "chinky" to be mine. And mind you she was 4 weeks old when she saw her and she was sleeping. And yes it took everything i had not to lose my when she said that.
