You may think you're in love but truly, you'll need to spend time in person in order to know if you guys are a good fit and really want to be married to each other.

As others have said, Ghana is not an easy embassy, doesn't matter if you're attempting a K-1 or CR-1. Best is to meet multiple times, in Ghana and maybe outside of Ghana. I doubt it's easy for him to get a B2 to visit the US so you can probably scratch that off the list.

If you really want to proceed with a US visa application for your fiance, make sure to start gathering evidence every time you meet.

    When you go to Ghana:
    1.  Keep good travel records.
    2.  Take some pictures of you two together.
    3.  Do NOT take part any any customary ceremonies which could be seen as a "marriage".
    4.  Read everything you can about K-1 and CR-1 visas here in the guides section of Visa Journey  http://www.visajourney.com/content/guides/

    Good Luck.

Pretty bad idea to get married on the first visit. Especially for that embassy. Besides, you really want to marry someone whose personality you only know from the internet? Take time to get to know each other, Ghana embassy will want to take few visits anyway.

That would be a red flag, especially for Ghana.

No, without a petitioner there is no visa.

Who was the petitioner in relation to you?

The decision is pretty self explanatory. Family based visas are for family reunification. If the petitioner is no longer alive how do you justify the reunification?

There is no way they will approve him for a visitor visa after the K-1 denial. He clearly has immigrant intent.

Refiling won't help you so much before you provide more evidence. More meeting face to face time would help you very much.

I know you say it's expensive and I get that I really do but you have to do it. You don't have to go there see where he can come there is pretty close to the US and then go there that will make it a bit cheaper.

Roel..why do you have to be so angry that she asked this question before? Calm down. She must be in a corner and seeking advice.

Should be IR6, 10 yr GC. You won't deal with remove conditions down the road.

Your green card will not be ready until a few weeks AFTER you move to the USA.  Once the I-130 is adjudicated "approved" you will apply for a visa that allows you to move to the USA within six months of issue.  Paying the new immigrant fee AND entering the USA is what triggers the green card.

The timing will depend on how efficiently you and your spouse manage the process through the National Visa Center, but think in terms of 3 to 5 months, so between April and June, in your case.

This is more of the issue than anything else. One meeting over a year ago with a high fraud embassy.

If they kept his passport, that's a good sign. Try your best to get the specific chat they requested. If you can't get it, try to get an email or letter from the site explaining why they can't provide it.

I'm glad to hear that you were approved so quickly, but @Jhonny needs to realize that this is not the norm by any means. Currently, the Nebraska Service Center (NSC) is taking on average 249 days to approve an I-130 application. This estimate is based on user-feedback provided by VisaJourney members. The Nebraska center is also currently the SLOWEST service center; Texas is taking 188 days.

In summary, you will likely have to wait anywhere between 4-8 months before hearing back. It is possible you may hear back/get an approval sooner, but this is unlikely. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do, but wait. I wish you the best of luck!

That was a stupid answer. But the officer thought he was serious so he sent your fiancé home which was the right choice.
Never ever mess around with the officers at the airport. They are allowed to send you home.

I'm sorry to hear about that.

Why did he say that? Was he just trying to be funny or something? If the CBP officer took him seriously, then that's a legitimate reason to be turned away.
