Ofcourse naturalized citizens did have A numbers but after getting citizenship, USCIS do not ask A numbers since they r no longer aliens. Part 4 of i 751 is for someone who has GC spouse and not for US citizen spouse.

Yes, sorry to confuse you, my recent post was not for this post, it's for another post but I already removed it.  Anyway, I agree on what you said to OP. Recent forms should be checked most especially the fee. I had experienced before when I'm just submitting my K1 visa packet, my husband got the wrong fee on my check and it was returned. Regards.

Yes you both can avail to the BB stamp in your passport which is good for up to a year ( minus 1 day   ) stay in the Philippines.

You only get a 30 day visa upon arrival if you DO NOT avail to the BB stamp in your passports (do carry a copy of both your birth certificates .. just in case)    Smart move is get the stamp in your passport

We just went through this.  The consulate required that she use the Philippine naming convention for her name on the ROM and her new passport.  She originally tried to use her new "Philippine" name for AOS, but USCIS made her change her middle name back.  She will have this mismatch between her GC/SS/DL and her Passport until she can change her name when she applies for citizenship.

There is no requirement in the USA that your follow Philippine traditional naming.  You can do as you please with your married name in the USA.   Do note that many/most states only allow for changing your last name with marriage ..

USCIS may have issue with you leaving out your middle name for AOS.   I know of some that changed their middle along with their surname at marriage and USCIS corrected the middle name back to as shown on the visa.

A perk with completing citizenship through naturalization (after 3 years as an LPR) is that you can legally change your name at this time.    Then you can omit your middle name if you want .. legally .. as part of the citizenship process.

When dealing with the Philippines you will run into issues if you did not follow traditional naming format.   You would need to file ROM to renew your passport in your married name.   <<  Here you can expect issues if you try using a name different than what the Philippines requires.

Most of my friends have followed the traditional Filipino naming, even my ex did. No issues with anything.
Passports, ID's, DL, SSN nothing popped up as an Issue, so do as you want.

sweet01 reacted to Hank_ in Buying a residential land with "rights" only
Called a - Squatter village.  If a structure is built on land the person does not own (and has no permission from the deeded owner) that makes him a squatter.   There are numerous squatter villages throughout the Philippines, most of the land used by squatters is government land, meaning the people have no legal right to the land, if the government decides to use the land kiss your house goodbye.   I know of three squatter villages around our home in the Philippines (yes we do hold clear title to land), any one of those villages could be bulldozed in the blink of an eye and the people have no recourse... because they DON'T own the land.

This link more or less explains methods of transferring ownership, and you will note all the processes result in a deed.
    http://www.tubigon.gov.ph/services/municipal-assessors-office/transfer-of-ownership-of-tax-declarations/

There is a correct way and a wrong way of acquiring a title to land/a deed in the Philippines.  The correct way does not result in someone laying claim to the land 100 years from now (2-4 years after acquiring the deed it is possible ... IF, IF ).  The Philippines uses a Torrens system of registration of land, this system has certain safeguards built into it with time limitations for claims to be filed against the rights of ownership to land.   Most common reason for a badly issued deed is fraud.

    https://batasnatin.com/law-library/civil-law/land-titles-and-deeds/1353-purpose-of-the-torrens-system.html

If you are given "rights" to use land from the deeded own, that might be a land lease   .   If you have no documentation from the deeded owner of the land allowing you to build on the land .. that is a squatter.   Squatters do "create documents to sell their land/house" but in reality all they are selling is the structure because they don't own the land.

The Philippines does not have Adverse Possession for laying claim to land.

With Boracay the island is government owned (according to the supreme court), those that built there might have documentation from the government allowing them to build on the land, but they don't own the land .. and many I would bet don't have permission from the government which makes them squatters.    ... blink of a eye   *poof*

Bottom line, if you don't hold a deed without encumbrances, you don't hold a clear title of ownership.

sweet01 reacted to Starkilla09 in Need advice about petitioning my mom from Philippines to USA
To petition for your mom you have to file a form I-130. You’ll have to send a copy of your birth certificate listing her as your mom as well as a copy of your proof of U.S. citizenship. Follow I-130 instructions on where to file and payment. Next phase of process will begin several months later at the National Visa Center when USCIS approves the I-130 and sends there to begin consular processing. That’s where you’ll be providing affidavit of support and secondary documentation for an interview scheduling abroad.
