MoiandNela reacted to John P in Colombian Police Certificate - Pasado Judicial
This is all you need from Colombia. My wife had the same certificate, I thought it looed like a joke but that really is all you need.

MoiandNela reacted to PDXDD in Credit Cards and Student Loan with Forbearance
NO.
Focus on the interview itself. Make sure you have everything embassy requires. Focus. Try not to overthink. You are almost there.

MoiandNela reacted to Pinkrlion in Credit Cards and Student Loan with Forbearance
Student loans and CC debt are not a part of verification of income

MoiandNela reacted to PDXDD in Credit Cards and Student Loan with Forbearance
You will be fine with the embassy interview as long as your tax return shows your income is above poverty line.
They don't check your credit card bill and student loan.

It's better to give them more than asked for instead of getting an RFE.

MoiandNela reacted to belinda63 in Marrying in fiance's country after visa has been approved
If you are married when you enter the US then he/she is no longer your fiancé and cannot use a fiancé (K-1) visa to enter the US.
Have a celebration, do everything but DO NOT get legally married.

MoiandNela reacted to Morganalmonshid94 in How long the transferring process from TSC to NVC takes...?
You need to actually contact uscis not the nvc as the nvc has no record of your case so give uscis a call and speak to a level 2 to see what the hold up is .

MoiandNela reacted to rtor1 in How long the transferring process from TSC to NVC takes...?
Yup, my bad! USCIS, sorry just got caught with NVC but it's actually USCIS.

Tell them you want your call escalated to an immigration officer that has access to your case details.

MoiandNela reacted to justin-s in AOS from K1 is horrible!
Honestly the EAD and AP are all I care about right now, once I have those they can take however long they want with the actual green card. All I need is the ability to work.
Edit: also, getting senators involved just delays the process for everyone else.

MoiandNela reacted to CG&LGG in Do I need to call USCIS to change my fiancée Colombian address
My fiancé is also in Colombia, from the research I have done, packet 3 is not mailed in Colombia due to the postal service not being that great or reliable. I have been told that packet 3 is electronic in Colombia.
-
MoiandNela reacted to Karmalious in Do I need to call USCIS to change my fiancée Colombian address
I just finished doing this...
IF BEFORE NOA#2:
You must write a letter and send it to the service center where your packet is located. I found it very difficult to find the address, and the main USCIS telephone number DOES NOT have these addresses. Just do a search for "TSC address"... Remember that there are two addresses... One for courriers and one for united states postal service.
The Letter needs to include the following:
1. THE REASON you are writing the letter
2. The full names and date of births of both the petitioner and beneficiary
3. The receipt # from your NOA#1
4. Updated address for the beneficiary
AND THEN WRAP THAT ALL UP AND SEND IT CERTIFIED MAIL
IF AFTER NOA#2:
Then your packet is likely on its way to the National Visa Center, prior to being mailed out to your beneficiary. I have read that if you are already here at this step, your beneficiary needs to go to the US EMBASSY in Colombia and update her address with the local office.
IF THE PACKAGE completes at the NVC stage, your local embassy will send the packet to the wrong/incorrect address. ( which why you need to go update it at the local embassy office )
NOTE:
Calling the National USCIS hotline wont do any good unfortunately. I called 3 times, and 2 of the 3 representatives I talked to mentioned the list above for changing address. I spent 30 minutes on the phone even talking with a supervisor because nobody knew the addresses of the service centers. Finally the supervisor put me on hold for another 30 minutes before coming back on the phone and saying sorry, I we just dont keep that information. At which time I found the address on another immigration forum.
ORIGINAL THREAD THAT I FOUND:

I FOUND MY NEBRASKA SERVICE CENTER : after many many google searches

MoiandNela reacted to wbeem in Do I need to call USCIS to change my fiancée Colombian address
If the embassy in Colombia issues Packet 3 by mail, then that wil be the first correspondence your fiance will receive from them. We were told when we called USCIS to change the beneficiary address that we had to write a letter to the Service Center notifying them of the new address. We did. We never heard anything back from them, but when the case got to the embassy the address had been updated.
Everything else up to and including NVC stage will be sent to the US petitioner's address.

MoiandNela reacted to StephanieC in Validation Error(s) on checking my case status online in uscis
Are you guys logging into the site or just typing in your case number?
I have found that if you log in and add your case to the site you have less problems with validation errors.

MoiandNela reacted to yuna628 in 300 Days and still waiting for NOA2 - K1 Visa (I-129F)
Ugh disgusting. I am so sorry for you.
You are way past processing time, and your case should of been given attention. There is no excuse for this.

MoiandNela reacted to AirConditioner515 in 300 Days and still waiting for NOA2 - K1 Visa (I-129F)
Holy #######. Are you serious?
300 days is criminal. No one should have to wait that long.
I guess, what they say is true. It could take 500 days and no one would care.
I feel for you.

223 days waiting at TSC and still nothing...its a hell

MoiandNela reacted to novedsac in fiancee visa vs school visa
K1 will be cheaper by a long shot, considering one would have to pay full, out-of-state tuition with a student visa, sometimes paid in full prior to the start of classes.

MoiandNela reacted to yuna628 in Reached 200 Days at TSC since NOA1 and Nothing.....
Stuck in the same boat as you. If TSC continues at the same pace they did at the start of this week, I think you can look to May as being the month you will finally be processed. Pay no attention to their claims of August, they are really working on September and a few October cases have also been completed.

MoiandNela reacted to Wooderz in 263 Days and still no NOA2
Please fill out a timeline.
Have you put in a service request with a Tier 2 representative on the phone or through the case status online? Have you contacted a congressman or senator?
You are past the processing date so you can do those things.
Cannot advise why it's taking so long, other than TSC is a mess and a joke.

Congratulations!
But I have to admit, this is crazy. They haven't finished September Filers yet, and they are approving October.
