300 Days and still waiting for NOA2 - K1 Visa (I-129F)

Hello All,

Just wanted to share our experience with applying for a K1 Visa (I-129F).

My Fiancé and I are now at 300 days and counting for an NOA2.

Received our NOA1 on July 3rd, 2014.

Received an email stating that a 'recent processing action has been taken on your case' on December 9th, 2014.

Filed a General Inquiry via phone with USCIS on February 17th, 2015. This inquiry still has not been assigned for processing as of today.

Emailed Texas Service Center 'TSC.NCSCfollowup@uscis.dhs.gov' on March 17th, 2015. Still no response to this email as of today.

Submitted an 'Outside Normal Processing Time' Online Case Inquiry on April 9th, 2015. This inquiry still has not been assigned for processing as of today.

Emailed USCIS Headquarters 'scopsscata@dhs.gov' on April 20th, 2015. Still no response to this email as of today.

Physically went to an InfoPass Appointment at the USCIS Center in Houston, Texas on April 24th, 2015. The officer said that "I see that you have been waiting for a while, but unfortunately your case is still pending." "There doesn't appear to be any negatives or red flags on your case." "There is a serious backlog." He could not provide any more information. He then said that he would send a message to the Texas Service Center regarding our case.

Only other options left to explore are contacting a Senator / Congressman or http://www.dhs.gov/case-assistance.

Very frustrated.

300 days is criminal. No one should have to wait that long.

I guess, what they say is true. It could take 500 days and no one would care.

You are way past processing time, and your case should of been given attention. There is no excuse for this.

That's just disgusting. It's even MORE frustrating that a specific request for information hasn't been assigned out. They must be behind in literally everything they do at TSC.

My fiance and I received our NOA2 at the end of January after almost 7 months. We had opened a case inquiry about the wording of the NOA2 which... to this day has not been assigned. We opened that around February 3. It's almost 3 months later. They must be doing absolutely nothing over there.

Good luck - I won't say hang in there because it induces eye rolling and resentment. You're so far into this process and it's incredibly frustrating but hopefully you're over halfway if not almost all the way done!

Hi there,

this is disgusting - and a very, very worrying glimpse into the future for the rest of us...

I have two more suggestions: Call, demand a tier 2 and have them put in a Service Request. Get in touch with the ombudsman, email in my signature.

Same here, just for the records - 11 months today waiting (for Adjustment of Status) and no call (to NCSC number or tier 2 transfer), no service request, no email ever brought any answer or result: everything is still pending and it will stay pending (despite the website dates progressing) until who knows when..the black hole metaphor is appropriate because your fees, paperwork and inquiries get in but nothing gets out.

But, unlike those waiting on I129F, you are already in the US, you can work and live your life. Yes, any delay sucks, but is this pending AOA actually majorly impacting your life right now?

Hey thanks for the wishes! No, no major impact..just a feeling of unfairness since the colleagues who filed with other centers already got their GC months ago.

Sadly enough, I am not sure the human factor is taken into any consideration by prioritizing K-1 vs AoS, since I see similar day counts

I received NOA1 on July 10th 2014 and I'm still waiting my NOA2. I'm in checklist 2 times. The first time is because my husband forgot sending the form G325A (include my information). We're ok to send them and wait again. 63 days later, I received an email from USCIS, which I wish an approval but NO, they sent me an Request for evidence again. We were very curious about what they need us to provide. 10 days later, we received a mail from USCIS and they request my husband to send evidence to prove that my husband is an USC. I think they are so crazy when they request this because my husband sent his photocopy of passport already. But, we sent it again.

We have to wait until this May 20th to receive the news from them. I don't know what will I do if they send me RFE one more time but I hope they won't.

300 days and no one answered your email?! That is negligence and disgusting. They should be embarrassed to work for USCIS.

Any other company would have fired the person responsible for not replying to that email. You could also start a negative marketing campaign against that company, and have your state's Attorney General file suit against that company.

But you can't do that to USCIS. Or, can you? Why not call your state's attorney gerenal's office. They might be bored and want to protect the interests of one of their tax payers?

Disgusting. So sorry you're dealing with this.

Congressman/Senators asap. If they're good and well connected, they can help. Ombudsman is another idea. At this point, nothing can hurt and so I'd be doing everything possible.

Wow, this is so heartbreaking!!! This is pure torture. I waited 6 months, but then I needed to transfer file fro UAE and they sat on it for 2 months..Be prepared it takes about 2.5 mos for interview in UAE, it's a very busy embassy. I am sooo sorry, I know how you feel. The previous post show how someone got approved in 3 weeks. I am very happy for those that get it soon, but it's so unfair for some to wait almost a year! I hope you luck changes soon!!!
