Now a lot of USCIS offices are doing on the spot swearing in ceremonies instead of larger events due to covid.

No, I entered two weeks before turning 26 with the green card stamped in my passport (does that count as being resident doesn't?). Then a two or three weeks later I received my green card and the selective service pamphlet in the mail, but at that point I was already over 26 for a few days.

I think the main reason I didn't have to register (according to the letter from selective service) was because I already entered the US with a tourist visa many times. I don't really know how that works to be honest, I sent them all the evidence of all my trips before and after becoming a resident and that was their conclusion.

I edited my post to read "minor mistake."

    I also added:
https://www.sss.gov/register/immigrants/ "within 30 days of arriving in the United States." Thus not an issue.

I don't think you have to notify of a new job update. If, at the interview they ask you if you changed jobs, just tell them what and where is the new job.

wololo got a reaction from TheKingmaker in Reuse I751 Biometric for N400 ?
I had my I-751 biometrics done about 2 years ago, this week I just received an email from USCIS saying I won't need to get biometrics again for my N400, so yes, USCIS is reusing biometrics for some people. I can confirm this.

I am so thankful to have had this forum and all the members here during this journey.

My husband was approved on Monday for citizenship.  His oath ceremony will be next Tuesday

Thank you all for your help over these last 5 years.  I've learned so much and been so grateful for the advice and words of wisdom along the way.

I probably won't be on here much anymore,  but may check in from time to time.

Good luck to everyone still in the process. Thanks again!

It shouldn't be a problem as long as you can see your documents uploaded.

I removed conditions with a divorce waiver as well. I submitted divorce certificate, GC front and back, but also I had to submit a letter from selective service (this might not apply to you). I didn't include any tax returns because it didn't ask for it, I might take them with me for the interview.

Yes, it's not a lot of documents.

I hope I don't get forced to do oath remotely. I was looking forward to a proper ceremony, with social distancing.

I'm back from a long hiatus.

I got an RFE, applied for a waiver (divorce waiver) and now my case has been transferred to a local office. My guess is that I will be getting an interview. I'm preparing with my attorney the best I can for this interview.

Interview was a success, my GC is now being produced. Now I'll wait until time comes to file N400, but for now, we take a break from USCIS.

We’re still waiting! Haven’t heard a thing, no RFE’s or anything. So frustrating!

Hey guys, I just received my biometrics appointment letter, almost a year later! At least they didn't forget about me. Let's see what happens next.

File an I-751 with the divorce box ticked.
Enclose a cheque for $680, a copy of the front and back of your green card, a copy of your final divorce decree (not the original) and any evidence you have of it being a bonafide marriage.
I-751s whether divorce waiver or joint filed are adjudicated on the evidence provided.

Once filed and accepted you will receive a receipt which acts as an extension letter for your physical card when it expires as proof of your status for a period of one year.

As as you are filing with a divorce waiver, you can file the I-751 at any time, and given the lengthy current processing time (well in excess of a year) , filing it sooner rather than later would be in your best interests.

I do believe there's some edge cases where people get approved way ahead of time, but if your read @Tcarrol posts, you'll see they used a senator before to ask about their statuses (of other forms), so my guess is that USCIS marked their cases/A-number as priority? It's just a wild guess but I don't think it's a coincidence.

Smh internet trolls have arrived to this sub with their “connections”.

No way everyone will be interviewed.

Once you are a resident, you have to go to the court system to remove it and the burden falls on them, you can always refuse interview at this stage and battle it in court and win, unless they have something very serious to prove to the judge that its not a legitimate marriage.

Before you are a resident ita completetly different than after you become a resident.

Dont worry about people that come in here to scare immigrants, I wouldnt even let interviews scare you.

And I'll be waiting for your official sources, saying you "just talked to them" is not official. Until USCIS doesn't announce any policy change, this is very unlikely to happen.

You seem to have many connections, and you also get to talk to officers that get very specific answers instead of the scripts they always read, and on top of that you're a newbie user in the forums.
